Official RCT3 Help Thread
A.J. replied to mcjaco's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The answer to that question is yes. Games > RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 > Data > Style > Themed. You need to get the Platinum version for Mac, because I don't believe RCT3 Wild was released standalone for Mac. A lot of new custom scenery (such as billboards) requires the Wild expansion pack to function. EDIT: Amazon Link. -
Those cars on Jet Star look so gaudy. Slicing the capacity down to three per car doesn't help much either...

Monty Python's SPAMalot is coming to my local theatre. I'm so excited.

Isn't that rocket ride thingy made by Funtime? It does look kind of pointless - Starflyers have more of a "wow" factor IMO because they appeal to anyone who can comfortably sit in the swing. But, it's the owner's decision. Funfairs are funfairs. They're all super awesome and seizure-iffic at night. -

Okay, so, I haven't been to Hersheypark in a while - All I'll be taking with me is a backpack with a change of clothes (and to put my glasses in when riding). Does Hersheypark still let you place articles like backpacks to the side of the loading platform, or would I have to use a "thing that you turn a dial and it goes click" to put it in? -

The whole seating situation would have been so much easier to work out if the ride was designed as a plain old Wing Rider than the staggered design, IMO. -
NoLimits was able to exist in top form before Newton came along. Precision is relative. Newton does not define NoLimits, no matter how much better it may seem to be - it is merely a third-party program, a companion; but a rather good one. As for using Newton2 on a Mac - you need to use Boot Camp or Parallels/Virtualbox/etc. to run a Windows partition.

I did, and we went back and forth - and at this point he has offered free versions of the software for us. I'm not sure how to respond. -

Honestly, I actually prefer the inside seats. When you sit closer to the middle of the track, you're feeling more of what the ride was designed to feel like. When you're on the outer seats, it's a cool and unique experience, but it's not exactly what the ride would feel like if it was "normal". -

Here's what I'm thinking - Two lines per car, much like in a typical roller coaster - except one line is for outer seats and one is for inner. The outer seats would move in first, followed by the inner. Then, when exiting, the inner seats leave first then the outer seats. This isn't the fastest way to load a train, but it makes sure no one is crawling over anyone else. -
I've moved this here until another one of our members recommends their site, or they release a freeware/shareware version.

I'd say we should pull it over here until their site gets some sort of shareware demo version, or another member recommends their site. Agree? -

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60032 Awkward situation. This user is violating terms of service by posting an external link with less than 50 posts, but the user is not spamming. Should the link be removed, topic locked, or left alone? My brain says to remove the link, but all that the user wants to do is showcase their program. I do think calling the program "Number 1" is an exaggeration though. NoLimits Fairground is very easy to use. -

It also looks like Comet will have to be closed while they do the construction - but with construction going on through the off-season, it shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully Comet will be open at the start of the 2012 season as construction for Skyrush finishes up. -

On another note, I don't think the NoLimits simulation of the layout is completely accurate. I believe the simulation for Fahrenheit was the same way. -

Staggered seating. Really not what I was expecting. Hopefully load times won't be affected by the semi-floorless design. -

No. Seconded. They need a whole new fleet from scratch. Disneyland's aren't designed to handle the level of traffic WDW's do - for example, Disneyland's trains only have doors on one side. While Disneyland's is an attraction first and a transportation system second, WDW's is the other way around. -

How many cars are you running? Because your entrance and exit are so far away from each other, using regular old continuous circuit mode isn't a good idea. The guests riding the ride will have to walk all the way back when they exit. You might want to make the final brake run have a few block sections, and have two stations with a bunch of block sections in between them. -

So, basically, if I haven't got one by now, I haven't got one at all? That's a shame. My intimate knowledge of lateral G-forces from riding Space Mountain 51 times in four months would have been useful to them. -

Bah, I shouldn't even bother being excited. I haven't done anything with the whole RIT/LaMarcus Bros/OConnell thing, so I probably won't get one. Sheesh, I'm acting like a little kid. -

Concerning the whole apostrophe thing - is there any particular reason why periods in a name work but not apostrophes? Were they just, you know, left out? I feel sorry for them. They must be crying in a corner somewhere.
