  1. Hey friends, I'm popping down to Magic Kingdom next week! So excited! I've got Fastpass+ reservations for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the new daytime parade - good idea or bad idea? I wanted those reservations because they're new since I was last to the park and I wanted to make sure that I got on them (Under the Sea is neither here nor there for me).
  2. Okay, I know I asked you to include screenshots but you are seriously giving us update overload here. Give your viewers time to look at your work and comment! You really shouldn't be double posting unless you were the last person to post and it's been over a day with no more replies!
  3. Guests most certainly think that way. Most people don't have any idea what a "top 50" ride is and really couldn't care less! If Canada's Wonderland wants to keep Flight Deck and / or Time Warp because they're still getting good ridership, let them.
  4. Lightning Racer and Wildcat just have marked-off sections on the opposite sides of the platforms.
  5. You need more posts before you can make a thread that only exists to link to your personal website. Read the terms of service. I'm locking this thread in a day unless you post screenshots here on this forum.
  6. I most certainly think that they're a "fad", but with good reason. Rocky Mountain gives parks with "bad" wooden coasters the opportunity to use the majority of the existing structure to "redeem" the bad rides by making brand new, fantastic ones out of them. I absolutely think that Rocky Mountain has the capacity to make a "traditional"-style wooden coaster without all of the crazy inversions and over banked turns that have now become synonymous with the company's coasters. But, it's the park's money that talks and in Six Flags' (or Silver Dollar City's) case, having those crazy maneuvers on their new coasters makes them that much easier to market.
  7. While it is a good joke, they're not that stupid.
  8. Not sure what sort of sign-up is required but I found the patches on GameFront. I believe you're looking for the RCT-US one. http://www.gamefront.com/files/listing/pub2/RollerCoaster_Tycoon/Official_Patches
  9. Looks like a new spin on the Strength Tester attraction (based on the name and artwork). Maybe one group rides, one person hits a target - and the harder the person hits the target, the taller the riders launch to the top of the tower!
  10. I always ride closer to the front, and the two hills over the pathway (one twisted, one straight) are definitely comparable to opening season, maybe a little less intense. But the hill right before the brake run doesn't really give anything.
  11. This might just be me nitpicking but I'm not sure if I like the meme / image macro-style text slapped onto the video thumbnail. It looks okay but I feel like Theme Park Review videos have always spoken for themselves.
  12. We'll have a news thread when it's officially announced.
  13. I don't know, I actually like the simplistic "vanilla" look.
  14. The point is that stuff like that shouldn't even be happening in the first place!
  15. In some cases the Tornados are completely enclosed - sometimes because they want to keep an indoor water park environment isolated from the outside (Great Wolf Lodge) and sometimes because they want visual effects on the inside (Brain Wash).
  16. Chang / Green Lantern was designed with the standing trains in mind, putting regular-heartline sit-down trains would dramatically (and most likely uncomfortably) change the character of the coaster.
  17. Don't forget about marketing! All those teaser campaigns, 3D renderings and promotions don't come cheap!
  18. You don't necessarily have to make Flying Turns your first ride. Generally there's a consistent wait time all day.
  19. I've never had an issue with a restraint, shoulder harness or otherwise...
  20. Has this thread cooled down yet? Thunderbird looks like a lot of fun (much like other recent B&Ms) but I feel like the capacity will be a nightmare. Short trains work with shorter launched coasters like Xcelerator and Storm Runner but this one looks like it lasts as long as a normal coaster would.
  21. Wild Mouse isn't built to be a spinning mouse coaster. You can't just plop spinning cars on the track, especially considering that Mack doesn't even make a spinning mouse model.
  22. I feel like something like this would be perfect for the TPR chat...
  23. SkyRush has to stack. When running two trains in Auto mode, they can't dispatch until the one parks on the waiting block and the restraints pop. To add to this, most of the time people are still boarding / being checked when the train reaches on the waiting block brake anyway. It really moves efficiently even though some might consider it "bad" station design.
  24. Intamin has started putting Skyrush-style overhead lap restraints on their most recent looping /launched coasters.
