  1. That's why I never go to the front seat first when riding a new ride for the first time. I try to find the shortest line possible just so that I get on quick and say I rode it, period. Then I'll go back and ride the front seat, that way, if it does break down or whatever, I won't be too mad because I already got to ride it. I actually rode TTD for the first time in the front seat this May. I go every year and probably have ridden TTD over 15 times before May.
  2. Yeah, I know. That's basically what I said.
  3. ^ We're talking about like 3D animations and whatnot.
  4. ^ Yeah, and the general, non-enthusiast, public don't give a damn, we're the only ones who do. Why waste a lot of time, money, and energy to film a new ride when the majority of people won't care anyway.

  6. Vortex also has my vote. I didn't like it too much. I liked the inversions, but the turns were to tight...too much headbanging.
  7. Wow I feel stupid. But still, all the height went up to was 175 ft. That wouldn't make it "something Canada has ever seen before".
  8. Yeah it does. Looks a LOT like Goliath. Especially this picture. The helix looks a bit like SFOG Goliath, though.
  9. I don't know though. A 175 foot B&M hyper wouldn't qualify as "something Canada has never seen before". Goliath is about 175 feet.
  10. 2 hours for X...an hour and a half in the station.
  11. Firehawk is actually very unique, especially to non-coaster enthusiasts. When someone thinks of a roller coaster, they most likely think of a coaster where you sit down, or ones that they rode when they were a kid. Firehawk, more than likely, does not come to mind. People who only go to Kings Island and don't know of too many other parks, let alone been to them, will see Firehawk as being very unique. Is it unique to us? No. Is it unique to people who aren't coaster enthusiasts? Yes, very.
  12. Great pictures! Those were awesome!
  13. ^ Compare it's first year of operation to this year. 2003 ridership: 562,438 2006 ridership: 994,531 I'm sure 2007 is well over a million. Not only the ridership, but they usually have it up and running earlier and have less rollbacks.
  14. Six years isn't enough tweaking time? Sorry dude, but the rides suck. Sure they are fun, but for such big parks, they have horrendous capacity and lousy reliability. I like the rides too, but it was a good idea done poorly. Now let's all bust out the cranes, wrenches, and torches! That's the problem, they built the ride and just started running them. It doesn't seem like they really spent that much time perfecting the ride as, say, CP did with TTD. They could have done a lot better instead of forgetting about the problem and just building new coasters to make up for it.
  15. Cool pics! I thought the Matterhorn was the oldest/first steel coaster?
  16. I know that. I was saying that the people I was with wanted to watch the fireworks from a specific area of the park, and if I waited for the front row, we wouldn't make it and have to watch them from Beast's station.
  17. Out of the ones I have been on, definitely X at SFMM. It's awesome, though.
  18. Yes, I would love a dive machine taller than Griffon.
  19. It very well could be a smaller coaster, like a wild mouse or whatever, because CP built WT in 2002, then TTD in 2003, so they have built coaster in back to back years before. I am still sticking to it being a topple tower, though, or possibly some kind of water ride. But if the topple tower has fountains and gets the riders wet, they can 'kill two birds with one stone'.
  20. I think you underestimate how long it takes to plan a custom coaster. Yes, even if it is a B&M hyper, it probably takes just as long to plan. Also, this would be Cedar Fair's first ever B&M hyper, so I would assume the planning would take a little longer than a park chain that already has one or more, because it's a new style for them. One last thing, wasn't there a rumor a while back that CW was supposed to get a TTD clone?
  21. They are B&M footers because if you look at the second picture above, there are only 4 bolts on the footers, and they are very close to the center. All Intamin footers I have seen have at least 6 bolts, that are positioned at the very edge of the footer.
  22. Did it just close today? I was there yesterday and it was open all day, and even had a line that spewed well out of the que.
