  1. Good thought, but RCDB won't list a coaster until the park, itself announces it first.
  2. This is really sad, I really enjoyed his posts and talking to him. I had a few conversations with him, it's sad knowing that he'll never post again. RIP.
  3. If you buy yours at Cedar Point, or through cedarpoint.com, you will get a free Cedar Fair VIP jacket. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
  4. Is this seriously just for the 2nd webcam?!
  5. So I should be good? I just wasn't sure with it being Labor Day weekend and all, but now that I think about it, if anything, everyone will be on the water park side. I plan on going in the evening anyway, so that I only have to pay $18 to get in. To tell you the truth, I have never been to an amusement park on the weekend.
  6. ^ Just credit the creator of the other track tennis and you'll be fine.
  7. ^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Thunderhawk and Villain have been only running one train most of the season, if not, all of the season. At least that's how it was when I was there back in July. Hence, always sending out full trains. Also, does anyone have a guess as to how crowded GL will be on Sunday? Being Labor Day weekend and all.
  8. I hope RWB will be fixed, it was a very good woodie, in my opinion. Way better than any other woodie at GL, or even CP for that matter. My guess it that if Dominator and Thunderhawk do leave, it will reopen, but if they stay put for next year, I doubt RWB will open in the beginning. It might in the second half of the season, but definitely not in time for opening day.
  9. I absolutely hated Big Dipper, as said already, I barely fit into the train, and I'm only 6'0", but I have long legs. I gave it another chance this year, because the previous time I rode it a few years before, it made my neck sore for a week. After this years ride, my neck was just as sore as the other time for a week. I despise the Big Dipper. Anyway, I am going to try to get to GL on Sunday to get a few last rides on Dominator and Thunderhawk, just in case they are moving.
  10. Yeah, but who knows. Maybe they're on to something, maybe they have been working with Vekoma to fix Deja Vu's problems, knowing that it's a potential big crowd pleaser that's worth the risk (at least it was when I was at SFMM). Part of the capacity problem is that Six Flag's staff is very slow, if Deja Vu was run quickly and efficiently by CP's ride ops, maybe, just maybe, the riders per hour could double. Then just imagine what it will be like if they fix and master all of the mechanical issues. As for the Top Spin. I think that if anything, CP would get a new Top Spin that would be bigger than any other Top Spin in the world, not a used, run down one from Geauga Lake. I am still leaning towards "project 2008" being a topple tower. If Deja Vu could be fixed by Vekoma then I am sure SFMM and the other parks would spend the necassary money in order to fix it! Why would they let a good ride and a popular ride go if it could be fixed to be efficient! LOL This is a dumb argument and will never prove to be true. Six Flags actually spend money to fix a ride...LMAO! Why would they let a good ride and a popular ride go if it could be fixed to be efficient, you ask? Because they are Six Flags, that's why! They don't need any other reason! You crack me up.
  11. If anyone was curious, here's the location of the "construction site". "A reader tells us that the current construction site within the park is actually located near Top Thrill Dragster, in an open area to the right as you make your first left turn in Dragster’s queue. You can also see the site from the park’s Paddlewheel Excursion."
  12. I wish that a fire could burn through it's steel supports.
  13. An Intamin Dive Machine would be interesting, and has a ton of potential if they do it right. If it is one, I am curious to see whta the trains would look like. I still wouldn't mind a Maverick-esque coaster or a Eurofighter, though.
  14. If you read more after that post, I said that I had forgotten about some woodies that were smoother, an posted an explanation on why I thought it was so smooth. He did. He was just continuting to make fun of you for your opinion. It's going to happen a lot to you in life. Get used to it! --Robb Say what you want, but I still stand by what I said and still give SoB a 10/10 on CF. As for that quote being reused, I agree that it probably will be. That's the sad part. Dominator is a great floorless, but the attendance is terrible, so no one rides it. They could easily say that it wasn't the most popular.

  16. Whatever it is, I;m sure it will be pretty good, because it certainly sounds like it. Maybe it will be a B&M dive coaster, but be the first one with a more than 90 degree drop.
  17. ^^ Not all the time does it make a full stop. When I rode it the first time, I slowed down to probably about 15MPH and was then launched. The second time is when I came to a complete stop and, as you said, I, too, sat there for a good 15-20 seconds.
  18. ^ Yeah, but Deja Vu is a completely different concept than Wicked Twister. Just look at Millennium and Magnum, they are pretty much the same concept, only one's 100 feet higher. That leads me to believe that the Deja Vu theory could very well be possible.

  20. Screamscape says that it's a possibility that it could be Deja Vu. "A resourceful reader came upon a rather interesting idea today, wondering if perhaps one of the Déjà Vu coasters to be removed from Six Flags parks this year may go to Cedar Point instead. I’m thinking “no” myself… given the trouble they’ve caused for Six Flags since buying them Cedar Fair would be foolish to try to whip them into shape. However if Cedar Fair were to have a plan to install all new fixes and upgrades to ensure that it works correctly this time, anything could happen. The really interesting thing was that they were quick to point out the wording in the OnPoint Blog when seeing the construction site that it was something that they remember, “seeing one time before”, which is kind of the definition of Déjà Vu. Are they on to something… or just on something? My gut still says “No Deal”, but you just never know and to be honest right now, I don’t have a clue what they are up to and the local area Spy Network is unusually quiet." http://www.screamscape.com/html/cedar_point.htm That would be cool, maybe with the right fixes and upgrades, they can make this coaster work pretty well. I would love a Deja Vu that close to me. I doubt it, though, because when's the last time Cedar Point got used coaster? If Cedar Fair did, in fact, purchase a Deja Vu from Six Flags, it would probably show up at a different Cedar Fair park. But you never know.
  21. I never rode SoB pre-loop removal, so I'll never know the difference. I had the chance to, but I chickened out. I was going to ride it a second time in a different seat, but I already rode it by myself once, and my cousin's girlfriend wasn't feeling good and I wasn't going to make them sit there again and wait for me. When I rode it, it had just opened (they opened it around 2:00pm) and I got right on, hence why I got the front seat because there was very little people up there in the station...as I left, there was already a good line forming. I rode in the Blue train, by the way. I plan to return to KI next summer and also hit a few parks around that area as well, so I'll make sure to ride it in a different seat and re-evaluate it, but, as of now, I stand by what I said. Also, I lied, I forgot about Lightning Racer, both of them are much smoother than SoB, so SoB is the third smoothest wooden coaster I was ever on.
  22. I rode in the front seat. Not one part of SoB was rough. All of the woodies you named are old, old woodies are rough, not a lot, but they are rough nonetheless. Especially Blue Streak, I'm not a real big fan of it.
  23. I thought SOB was the smoothest woodie I ever rode.
  24. ^ I still have a headache from riding it four weeks ago!
