  1. Dominator is about 50ft shy of being a hyper last time I checked... "Hyper coaster" is a term used by Cedar Fair. It could mean anything, really. ^ I hope you were kidding, but if you weren't, Vortex is not a B&M, it's an Arrow.
  2. I loved it it's first few years, but after going there this year for the first time in about 3 years, I didn't like it so much. The turns killed the whole ride, they weren't banked at all and you were going very fast through them. The fully metal, non-padded lap bars don't help either, especially when your thighs are driven into them when you turn. It was good when it went straight.
  3. I wonder what park Villain would go to. I would hate to get that as an addition.
  4. I see, well thanks for replying because this would have bugged me for a good while.
  5. ^ Yes, I keep reading the "hear yourself talk" sentence over and over.
  6. I searched for a similar thread and came up with nothing. I apologize if this is spam, already posted somewhere, or in the wrong board. The recent news about Geauga Lake got me thinking. Was there ever a roller coaster that was relocated to a different park, but then relocated again back to it's original park? Just curious. Note: Not counting carnival/fair coasters.
  7. ^ I know what you mean by original, you want KD to get a whole new ride with a new layout that no one's ever seen before, but technically Dominator is original because it doesn't have any clones or anything.
  8. ^ Perhaps they do plan to sell it, but they want to move all the decent rides that will make them money elsewhere, first.
  9. I see. You learn something new every day!
  10. Dinn? My favorite would have to be GCI. That may change next summer, though when I rode El Toro.
  11. Then why was it called "Serial Thriller"? Because that's what the former owner named it? Six Flags, I'm guessing, bought the rights to the name when they bought Geauga Lake.
  12. That's the thing, though, Six Flags didn't add the SLC, it was there when they bought the park. I think Villain should be moved, not Thunderhawk, but it would probably be more expensive.
  13. ^^^ Yes, I know. I'm not saying that it can't be relocated, just that it would seem very out of place to people who have ridden it at GL. If you look at the satellite picture you posted, the footprint curves slightly on the edge of the lake, and goes around the ripcord, custom designed for the area it's in. I am actually curious to see it's new color scheme if it does get moved. Hopefully it will still be called Dominator, because that's such an awesome name, but just have different colors. I am tired of the Batman scheme. I also hope that they at least get new seats, the carved out Batman logo is just sad.
  14. Errrr. I think they meant compared to other floorless coasters. Dominator is the longest floorless in the world, but it has a relatively small footprint compared to, say, Scream!/Medusa, or Superman Krypton Coaster. The thing that I don't like is that Dominator was custom designed for the spot it's in, right by the lake. If it were to be put into an open field, or wherever, it would just, in my opinion, seem very out of place. They could also be moving Dominator because CP might be planning to build a floorless and it would be pointless to have two floorless coasters so close to each other. I think that's the reason they took out SV, because WT is at CP.
  15. Couldn't have said it better. Maverick is one of those rides that is incredible the first time, but goes down on the excitement scale the more you ride it.
  16. Maybe they want to move Dominator farther away because they are planning to build a floorless at CP!
  17. I did, I rode on both the inside and the outside and thought they were both very smooth.
  18. ^ I agree. I never knew why no one had ever used it before. I have used it for countless RCT coasters and a few NL coasters.
  19. I hope Dominator gets moved to KD. It doesn't nearly get the amount of riders and credit it deserves at GL. Also, it still wouldn't be too far away from me. I was just hoping that if Dominator did ever move, that it wouldn't go to like GAm or somewhere out west. I would laugh so hard if it ended up being Villain.
  20. Are trims bad? Yes, but I'll deal with them knowing that it's better for the ride. Like I already stated, I would rather have a trimmed ride, than no ride at all, because a weld broke on one of the trains and the ride has to be shut down for the rest of the season.
  21. Awesome! These look so great, great job CD staff! I can't wait to buy Griffon and Alpie to put on my desk!
  22. I don't see why so many people are crying about trims. They are only trims, who cares?! Of course this ride may be slightly better without them, but oh well, deal with it. When a park adds trims to a coaster, it's usually for safety reasons. They are added to prevent the coaster from falling apart, in the case of a wooden coaster, or to prevent increased stress on the trains. I would rather have a trimmed ride, than no ride at all because a weld broke on one of the trains and the ride has to be shut down for the rest of the season. I am actually very excited about this coaster, trims or no trims, and might actually have to take a trip up to Toronto next summer just to ride this monster.
  23. I am not counting missed kiddie credits. Still standing and operating: -Gold Rusher at SFMM -Jaguar at KBF -Roller Soaker at HP Not many because I usually ride everything when I go somewhere. Torn down or currently SBNO: -Steel Phantom at Kw (I really regret that one) -Psyclone at SFMM That's all. Like I said, I usually ride everything when I know I won't be back for a long time (like SFMM). The only reason I didn't ride Psyclone was because it was getting late, we had time for only one more ride, and I hadn't ridden Riddler's yet, so it was either Psyclone or Riddler's.
  24. Viper was awesome whenever I rode it! Very smoother Arrow. I don't see why everyone thinks X is so rough, now I rode it over a year ago, but when i did, it wasn't rough at all, it was just very disorienting, but that's the whole point of the ride.
