  1. Nice, I'm going to GADV next year too! I would have rather experienced Chiller, but this will be better than just an empty spot.
  2. I hope Deja Vu is being relocated and not scrapped. It's a very good coaster when running.
  3. Wow, Six Flags is really stealing the spotlight from Hershey today.
  4. It's counting down to 11:11, the time of the announcement for people playing the game.
  5. Dominator - Cedar Point (I think it would be an excellent addition for CP's next coaster. It would finally get the riders and attention it deserves. If not Dominator, than another, new floorless. They are in need of another B&M) Thunderhawk - MIA Villain - Great America Beaver Land Mine Ride - Scrap/Sell Texas Twister (Top Spin) - Cedar Point or Sell Americana Ferris Wheel - King's Island Big Dipper - Scrap Double Loop - Scrap/Sell Time Warp - Scrap/Sell RWB- Scrap Head Spin - MIA
  6. I'm curious to see what theme/colors Dominator will get.
  7. ^ Couldn't have said it better. I did the exact same.
  8. ^^^ There probably wouldn't be enough people to ride it at that time. Kids are still in school and it's too cold anyway at that time. They want to open a ride when the most people possible can ride it. That's probably why they opened Tatsu at SFMM in May, even though they are open year round (I believe). Why open a new ride in March when no one is going to be there to enjoy it? CP doesn't open until the first or second week in May anyway, so that's when their new rides open.
  9. That won't happen if condominiums will be built on the rides side. People wouldn't want a noisy roller coaster right out their window while they are trying to relax by the lake in their newly bought condo.
  10. That's pretty cool. Can't wait to ride it next year!
  11. How about we just all not post in this thread anymore and just wait a few more days? This was funny at first, but now it's getting annoying.
  12. I have my opinion and you have yours. I'm sure there are coasters that I like and you hate, but I don't go around saying things like that and wishing pain upon people. You're messed up man.
  13. I hope Big Dipper gets destroyed. It gave me a sore neck for weeks...twice! What would some possibilities for Villain be? Assuming it won't be scrapped.
  14. ^^ I think he was being sarcastic.
  15. Could it be possible that they are just replacing that whole section of the ride adding a new spike or something? If it is being torn down, that's sad. I was going to go to GADV this year, but it got pushed back to next year and I was relieved that Chiller would be all fixed and ready to go for me. I guess not.
  16. You mean Cedar Point? CP won't ever get a used coaster. They never settle for anything that isn't new.
  17. Personally I think they should have a giant public bonfire of Villian and a little BBQ the last day the ride side is open. Villain has a steel structure. I'm pretty sure the last day already passed. I think it was Sunday, Sept. 16th.
  18. It probably will. Someone said a while back that they were looking into moving it. It's also a newer coaster that will attract a lot of people and would be a waste to just scrap. I wonder what will happen to Big Dipper. I hated it, it can get burned down for all I care, just curious to see, though, because it's so old. I also wonder if this will mean anything for Soak City at CP? Most of their slides are outdated, I wouldn't be surprised if CP got rid of all but a couple of slides, the wavepool, lazy river, and kiddie area to expand some rides and make room for a coaster to go out there like Magnum.
  19. I pity the park that gets Villain.
  20. ^ I disagree because some coasters have them on first drops, or big drops, where you would just slide right off a flat surface like that. They are also very long. I'll see if I can find an example. EDIT: found one. Hades has a steel structure, but the middle of the track is wooden and can still split. No way those two are used for workers to just simply cross over. The one on the first drop is too steep to be able to use it anyway.
  21. My guess is bracing so that the track doesn't come apart under the forces in that spot because the track transitions from left to right (or vice versa) so quickly. Most woodies have these, not just GCI woodies.
  22. If the video is legit, look at the very beginning when the train is climbing the hill. You can clearly see Maverick-style magnets.
  23. Not only that, but it's WAY under supported. I know it's only a simulation, but the supports are usually accurate in simulations, or if they aren't exactly right, they are in the right general area. Look at Behemoth's artwork and videos, it's supports are all accurate..
