Chance (Morgan) HyperLite
_koppen replied to jzoole's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't get me wrong, there is a market for the mini hyper coasters, I just don't think it's that big. For the park's that want's a mini hyper, I think there is a no brainier for them to go with the more "modern" designs, since making such an investment is a huge deal for smaller park's. -

But that is the thing, park's in general are not that interested in this specific category of coasters. Big park's need bigger capacity, and more likely go for a bigger coaster. Small park's that are prepared to drop 10 millions on a new, bigger type of steel coaster do not want a ride like this one, as they already have non inverting ride's that are fun and not very thrilling. They are far more likely go go with something more thrilling like Anubis for an example, in order to try and attract a bigger audience. Sure there are a few examples like Djurs Sommerland and now Nigloland that want this type of ride, but when choosing between the Mack or Intamin creations, or this new Chance version (that looks like it was designed back in the 90's) there probably won't be much interest in Chance one. -

There's nothing to worry about, they WILL get the permit. There is no way that the city will make them alter it. -

Looks like this ride will be a bit bigger than I thought at first. -

A theming group that has done some work for Liseberg in the past has dropped this image on their Facebook. It's most likely not happening, but damn it would be awesome if it were. -

The ride won't be demolished, but they will have to get a permit for it, witch they will get, after applying for one. What has happened is most likely that the park have a "detail plan" for the park area that they have to follow when adding new attractions, and they have made the decision that Eclipse is within these rights, but the city have decided that it is not. -

But this would not be cheap. If you want an intermediate coaster you don't want to be dropping close to 10 millions for it, then you will probably expect the ride to do some more than this, witch is why I can't see any of these sold, but I will gladly be proven wrong. -

The ride looks pretty lame, and I can't see why any park would want to buy one of these. The Megalite's are small and doesn't do any exciting "loops or launches" but damn those rides have speed, kick ass airtime & some awesome fast directions changes. This just looks like it doesn't do anything "exiting" without the speed, airtime & quick directions changes -
Lotte World New Water park
_koppen replied to variman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, great! I have been wanting to see some pictures and concept art of this ever since it was announced. I would assume it's all going to open at the same time. Still it won't be enough slides, considering that the other two big water park's Whitewater has built in South Korea (Everland & Ocean World) has been extremely crowed, with lines up to 2-3 hours a slide. They are indeed water coasters, Master Blasters to be exact, and they will be dueling, according to the press release. Here's a picture of an existing dueling Master Blaster. -
Hopi Hari Theme Park 2011 - Brazil

The new coaster was put on hold for another year when the accident on the drop tower happened, not because they ran out of money. The owner of the park said he wants to re-start the construction in the first half of 2013. -

That top decoration has to be the prettiest I've seen on top of a tower ride. Except maybe the Star Flyer in Copenhagen. -

There was some speculation that it would go to Skara Sommarland, but they have announced that they will expand their water park again, after the success of the Proslide mat racer that went in last year. It will be announced in early March what type of ride it will be (but I know that it will be Proslide again, and a source says it will be first of it's kind). However, Furuvik, another of Parks & Resorts parks posted this image on their Facebook saying "Woow! A Helicopter platform in the tivoli, or what could it be??" It could be another attraction, but it is most likely the Top Scan coming for 2013. -

Damn, why are they sinking more money into this ride! Seriously just tear it down! It's like an old car, it gets to the point where it's not worth investing in it, because it can't be saved. Still, it will probably be a good move for the park, since the ride seems to still be pretty popular. I think something like Krake at Heide Park would look really good in Goudurix's location and out over the water. -
The launch system on the Hulk was very much designed by B&M, they just outsourced the manufacturing of it to another company. There is no way for Universal to have B&M build the Hulk, and then another company do the launch. That's just not going to work with the ride's computer system and programming, everything on the ride has to be designed by B&M, and built to those specifications. It is very common for coaster manufacturers to outsource some of it's manufacturing. For another example Intamin does not make their own trains, they just designed them, and have them built by another company.

What park should have an Intamin Mega-Lite?

Exactly! Marketing wise these rides are simply boring. -

What park should have an Intamin Mega-Lite?
_koppen replied to Montuman99's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, it is built above a lake, that drives up the price a bit. The ride also has a earthquake system. And it's built in Japan. All of the reasons above adds to the cost. A regular Mega-lite, like Piraten, built on a flat piece of land will cost you €7 millions, or about $8-9 millions (but considering coasters are cheaper on average to build in the U.S, it could be even less). Really, they are not pricey coasters. You don't buy a ride for the U.S from Intamin, you buy it from Intaride, witch is the U.S divison of Intamin. Pretty much all of you're logic above is wrong. As I allready said, my prices are correct. The Mega-lite's are a cheap, high quality rollercoaster, that is meant to be avalible for all parks. The size of the Mega-lite is rather small. Intamin build their track and support's in 4 different factories, and it's always depend on where it is most favorable for the company to build at the time. And Intamin's are extremely rarely more expensive than a B&M of the same size. You obviously have no clue about prices of the water park industry. $15 million will buy you a small water park, wave pool and all. The complex you mention looks to be about $2 million. Edit: $1,7 million to be exact, according to http://www.coneyislandcentral.com/twister09.php -

What are you talking about? Mgea-lites cost around 7 million euros, or around 8-9 million dollars. The whole point of them are to be affordable, and avalible for all parks.
