  1. Um, no. Hurler is possibly the worst ride in the country. It really should be turned into firewood rather than trying to put a lipstick on a pig. Hurler is a perfectly average and mediocre coaster. It's not that good but it's not even close to being the worst ride in the country and until last year it wasn't even the worst ride in the park. A little re-tracking could make it a perfectly decent ride.
  2. It's physically impossible for a coaster to be smoother than Fury.
  3. Knotts ahead of KD? The last three major additions at Knott's have been refurbishments of existing attractions (Ghostrider, Log Ride and Mine Ride). If KD was doing that you people would love your collective sh*t and complain about it even more than you're doing now. Case in point: they're probably doing the same thing to Hurler that they're doing with Ghostrider and everyone's going to bitch if it's anything less than an RMC. What was the last major coaster Knott's got? Probably Silver Bullet over 10 years ago? Since then they got a wild mouse and 2 family coasters. You got the most intense giga coaster in the world, one of the best floorles coasters on the world and a much better family coaster than anything Knotts has plus a frisbee and a bunch of other great additions, plus a Windseeker that wasn't torn down and moved to the Midwest. The grass is always greener.
  4. That's not that awful unless it's blacked out for Fright Fest which I believe the Magic Mountain one is.
  5. They must be comparing coasters and ignoring everything else entirely. Kings Dominion is a beautiful park, especially over by the flume and on the main midway. The non coaster offerings are dramatically better than what Carowinds has and their new flat ride package won't change that. As a park, there's no competition between the two (and I love Carowinds). Kings Dominion blows it out of the water. Carowinds is a soul-less corporate park with no personality to speak of. Great coasters, but no personality. None.
  6. I knew the Space Mountain people were coming I don't think it holds a candle to Flight of Fear though, particularly the Kings Dominion version which rides much better (and catches on fire less frequently) than the Kings Island version. Yet the park is still rated under Carowinds for some reason... By who? I prefer Fury to anything at Kings Dominion but that's very debatable and honestly once you get beyond that Kings Dominion blows Carowinds away. Afterburn is the only other thing Carowinds has going for it against KD.
  7. My point was that they'll be on time because they won't to jack sh*t. There won't be any theming, the queue railings probably won't even be cemented in when it opens and that piece of metal that's there now is probably the station. It's done.. Lol
  8. And among those coasters you have the most intense coaster in America (which is 305 feet tall), arguably the best floorless in America, arguably the best indoor coaster in America outside of Universal (and I might prefer it), and obviously the mythical Skull Mountain, Volcano which is amazing, a great Bobsled and a bunch of others.
  9. PS: Flight of Fear and Backlot Stunt Coaster are criminally underrated. PSS: Drop Tower, Delerium, Shenandoah Lumber Company, the Crypt, the Flyers and the rest of the coasters are all solid too (though your mileage may vary on Anaconda).
  10. But how are they going to get all the landscaping and themed elements (including the station) done by then?? Oh, right.
  11. Have fun! Good idea saving the best (Knoebels) for last. lol
  12. No, they actually have a very lenient rain policy. I've never see them shut a ride down for rain besides the Go Karts and I've been there in steady rain on more than one occasion (recently). They might close rides in heavy rain though and part of me feels like Avalanche might have problems with rain and I've just never noticed. Sometimes Bobsleds do so I'm just guessing. Ricochet may also but last time we were there we rode it in a light rain.
  13. They moved the babies to Camp Aventura but the walkway by the Seafari theater still has one lion cub and otters. The Safari doesn't have a set closing time, it's based on how long the line is because obviously everyone has to be off the ride before it gets dark.
  14. I don't see it on the website. If this is true then I don't see the big deal. That ride's existence never made any sense.
  15. Most likely, it's always been this way. The flat rides always seem pretty popular and more importantly the waterpark is absolutely slammed on a daily basis. Hour waits for slides are common. From the outside looking in, Wildwater Kingdom is their bread and butter.
  16. Talon - 0 minutes Possessed - 0 minutes Stinger - Catastrophic mechanical failure closed for the season but before that 0 minutes Demon Drop - 0 minutes Hydra - is it possible to be less than 0 minutes? Steel Force - 0 to 5 minutes Thunderhawk - 0 minutes (but there's a new train and it's opening day I bet it'll... shut up zero minutes) Wild Mouse - 10 minutes because of atrocious ops Thunder Creek Mountain - 10 minutes because it's amaze-balls
  17. Start out with Guardian, then any combination of Thunder Run, the Bat and Fly. Then go to the kids woodie and kids hang and bang, then the Arrow looper. Then everything else is on Fastlane so grab the Fastlane and enjoy the rest of your day!
  18. BUT THEY CAN'T GET A B&M BECAUSE IVE HEARD FROM INSIDE SOURCES THAT BUSCH GARDENS HAS EXCLUSIVITY AND THEY ONLY GOT DOMINATOR BECAUSE IT WAS REL...
  19. Good idea, if only they had thought of that...
  20. Great report! Looks like a fun event. Was Anaconda down for the day? That's actually strange to see (PS: I'm an Anaconda fan. Yup, I'm the guy).
  21. Why is there any "rattle directory," period? Folks in this hobby sure get interested in cataloging odd stuff, but so be it. "Rattle me this", indeed. haha Well, as many people say B&Ms are perfect in every way, a rattle, or any vibration for that matter, is worthy of the front page of the Times. In comparison, a thread isn't so bad, as funny as it may be. The only ones I've felt go beyond a rattle for a good head banging or manhood rattling shake are Banshee on a cold day (especially the back row), Batman at SFNE and any hyper with the staggered seating (Behemoth, Diamondback et al.) Speaking of Banshee I don't get that new train. It's a good ride, but there was nothing wrong with invert trains, why would you ever try to change them? Personally I prefer the older ones. Inverts (almost across the board) are the smoothest coasters on earth. Banshee (while still very enjoyable) is actually "rougher" in the back rows than any of the older ones I've ridden. its glass smooth up front though and even in the back its still a good ride.
