Thunder Canyon at Dorney is a sick joke. There are approximately 137 waterfalls and approximately 136 of them are in rapid succession over the entire trough so you're guaranteed to get pummeled. You might as well just jump in a lake with all of your clothes on. It's actually even wetter than White Water Landing which is soaking to the bone but at least you don't feel like you're going to drown like on Thunder Canyon. No, to hell with that. If you need me you can find me over at Thunder Mountain which is the only water ride in the park that doesn't try to drown you. Oh and Tidal Force... holy crap. That thing makes every other splash boat ride look dry by comparison. What kind of sick, sick person thought that was a good idea?

The most *gasp* flat ride ever!
coasterbill replied to RctInfinity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think we can all agree that Tango is the most extreme and amazing flat ride ever conceived... But as far as the worst, that's easy. Gravitrons. F**k Gravitrons. I'm fully aware that you were not referring to Tango at Great Adventure. -

Scrambler looks great! Cedar Point... your move. -
Assuming it's credible and assuming they're not just talking about routine maintenance that was scheduled for about this time anyway let me just say that those rides suck and I don't care at all. As far as those huge splash boat rides go if they got rid of every single one of them tomorrow (besides Pompeii and not counting the Mack water coasters) I wouldn't give a single sh*t. This park has two other very good water rides (especially Stanley Falls which I love). No loss.

that's unreal. Well I guess we'll avoid Hershey in every season but summer. -

That's ridiculous. Even Cedar Point which has the worst weather policy of any park ever runs the coasters at 40 degrees. I know they ran Wildcat and SDL for Christmas so I assume this is just for Great Bear / Farenheit / Skyrush and Storm Runner? What's the limit? If someone says 50 degrees I may die laughing. -

Is Hershey really that ridiculous? 48 degrees is a problem? -
Do You Bother With Water Parks?
coasterbill replied to Golddisk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have no interest in the vast majority of water parks but if it's a local, mediocre park (Dorney or SFNE) I can't say no to a good lazy river on a really hot day. At a higher level dry park like Great Adventure or Hershey or a park I don't get to often I'll never waste time at a water park though. That's why Log Flumes exist... -

Hmmm... can't help you sorry. I'd ask around the "Ask the Experts" forum on New Element. Those guys are amazing. -

Glad to hear it! I agree, I expected a standard B&M hyper too. I never expected that world-beating beast of a ride. I still can't believe B&M built it. -

Do you have a Platinum Pass? If not STAY ON PROPERTY so you get Early Entry. Seriously... I'd enter the resort gate and go straight to Maverick. Besides that what you do with Early Entry is up to you. You could hit Valravn, you could probably get a very short wait for Gatekeeper (don't try this once 10:00 hits) or you could hit Millennium Force but do Maverick first. I wouldn't suggest anyone visiting on a weekday in May get a Fastlane before you get there. It takes 2 minutes to buy them at a shop if you see the lines get long but on a weekday in May the rides may generally be station waits or in the case of Millennium Force down the ramp but no further than the merge point. Maverick's almost a guarantee to be beyond the merge point and Dragster is a pretty safe bet but that's really about it. -

Any chance you could pop in for an hour or so this morning? Should be a perfect day to get some rides in. -

If I had a dollar for every time "it" was a fun 25 year old ride. . . Agree, but you won't hear it much on this site. -

It doesn't matter where you get the pass, a Platinum Pass is a Platinum Pass and you get all the benefits that come along with it at every park including early entry / pass holder preview days... anything like that. We have Kings Island passes and used them just a few weeks ago for Kings Dominion pass holder preview day and we use them every year for Cedar Point early entry. Not sure about sales...
