  1. For all intents and purposes, this is just like getting a new coaster. For example, we usually go to Cedar Point for a long weekend every year but we never rode Mantis. As far as we were concerned it may as well have not existed because it's only benefit was keeping people out of the lines for the much better rides. Even if it was a walk-on we wouldn't have ridden it. Now that they have Rougarou we absolutely love the thing. It's another solid ride in Cedar Point's lineup, it has great capacity so lines are generally manageable and all they had to do was switch out the trains to make a complete waste of a coaster into a fun ride. I fail to see how anyone can be disappointed by this news.
  2. So moving on from this awful Winterfest announcement, I'm a little bit confused about the location of the swings. Since all of these rides are in this new area, are they keeping the other swing ride? I would think they're not but if it's leaving then what's replacing it? It's unlike Cedar Fair to leave obvious empty pads.
  3. If they don't open some coasters after watching the success that Six Flags is having with Holiday in the Park, the enormous lines that Superdooperlooper had in the winter, the huge lines for Thunderbolt at Coney Island in the winter, the success of Dollywood in the winter and the popularity of Verbolten in the winter at the BGW event then they deserve to fail.
  4. Yeah I normally hate when enthusiasts complain about everything but these Winterfest announcements are a major disappointment. Sure they could go ahead and announce some coasters later on (it's not like we have the ride lineups) but I just don't foresee that happening because I feel like (like with Great America) they would have announced that already. They missed the mark in a ridiculous way with Great America by opening one coaster when the park down the street is open year round and I feel the same way here when parks nearby like Dollywood and SFOG are blowing them away with their offerings and (from an enthusiast standpoint), parks much further north like Great Adventure, Six Flags America and even Hershey are running coasters. What the hell are they doing?
  5. Yeah, I'd be going a few extra hours to Dollywood or Great Adventure if I were you.
  6. I honestly feel like Cedar Fair needs to learn from Six Flags (you don't hear anyone say that very often) and stop being so conservative with their winter events. Their ride lineup at Great America is a joke and I feel like if they planned on having any major coasters open here they would have announced that.
  7. These are great rides. Nice addition.
  8. Thank you for your service. Not all heroes wear capes.
  9. You mean like a new GCI wood coaster? Then I have spectacular news...
  10. Link: Hotel Breakers Expansion If this is connecting to the hotel then I guess it'll go on the adjacent plot of land near Challenge Golf where there's currently a parking lot. If they need additional parking then I would think it's time to say goodbye to Challenge Golf. Personally if Challenge Golf isn't gone next year I'll be shocked.
  11. Alright so if the renderings are to be believed the kiddy play area is replacing that crappy one that currently has lake water in it, and the new slide complex is replacing the swim up bar (which is complete bull***, lol). I imagine the "new poolside bar, new family changing/showering areas, more lounge chairs, additional shade, improved landscaping and unobstructed views of Lake Erie." will be off to the side of the slide / old swim up bar where there are already unobstructed views of Lake Erie. This is a nice addition. I'm still expecting a larger, Carolina Harbor style waterpark upgrade but maybe they'll do it over time rather than all at once, or maybe they first wanted to upgrade the things in the existing waterpark that needed work before expanding on to new areas. Either option makes sense to me.
  12. For the lazy people... Link: New Cedar Point Shores Water Park!
  13. I like the idea of re-naming Soak City and giving it an update. It'll be interesting to see if this slide complex is the only major addition this year and they'll expand it over time, or if they're making a lot of updates all at once like they did with Carolina Harbor. Personally I'm leaning towards the latter since this is really just a teaser.
  14. I seriously hope you're not referencing my posts, because if so, you have terribly poor reading comprehension, in addition to being another obnoxious naysayer... None of these people (mainly the KD thread people) can read, write or form a coherent thought. Go read through the last few pages of that thread... it's horrifying that our education system is failing that miserably.
  15. Go to the Kings Dominion thread. Go directly to the Kings Dominion thread. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
  16. I don't care, but Soak City needs this because Soak City sucks.
  17. This post is horrific. Might I direct you to the Kings Dominion thread? You'd fit right in. They're waiting for people like you with open arms.
  18. Yeah, and while I know it's temporary I think I'll actually check out Cirque Imagine, and I generally hate any theme park show that doesn't involve animals so that's a major plus coming from me. RIP coasterbill ???-2016 You people should listen to me more often. Especially the people in the KD thread waiting for a B&M hyper that would be vastly inferior to I305 anyway. How is a B&M hyper vastly inferior to I305? Two completely different experiences. Please go back to the sh*thole thread from whence you came and ask stupid questions there instead. Someone with equally stupid answers will be there momentarily to address your (mostly incoherent) concerns.

  20. Okay so a Troika for Screaming Swing's old spot and terrible Bumper Cars for Hang Time's old spot. I mean... I like Troika's. So that's slightly better than expected...
  21. We have one already. Honestly they might do what Compounce / Kennywood did and either replace an aging Enterprise with it or use that one for spare parts for the other ones in the chain.
  22. To be fair that was sort of the context I said it in originally also. I won't deny that parks will happily sell people a bunch of anniversary T shirts, I was responding to a bunch of dumb posts about how an anniversary year was somehow connected to a major new attraction the first time too.
  23. I'd love for Dorney to get a condor and shove it straight up Hershey's a**. I didn't know a Condor was up for grabs here. I love those. ... but my money's on sh*tty bumper cars.
  24. I'm going with crappy bumper cars. They won't shut up about bumper cars on Facebook and some modern, terrible bumper cars would fit the Dorney mold perfectly.
