  1. Going underground would not work very well in that area, plus I can assure you there is not enough room behind the Goodtime Theater to run a coaster. At one point it is only about 5 feet between the building and perimeter fence. If the park was going to build something over 250 feet, I feel like it would be an out-and-back and it would just go out into the parking lot, either Soak City or the Main Lot.
  2. Mine has two feet in the picture. Oh and its looking down from atop Power Tower.
  3. You are allowed to walk around the park with beer just as long as you don't take it in a queue with you. As for selling it at or near 'Luminosity', I would almost bet the farm that it will happen.
  4. Actually Cedar Fair has already said that if it is successful they will look at installing it at other parks.
  5. So they should keep the beer in the adult only amusement parks where children are not allowed in? Come on, the excuse that children are around or that it is a family amusement park is invalid in my opinion. Because if the holy grail of family parks (Disney) can sell beer, so can Kennywood.
  6. Mantis during Halloweekends in 2009.
  7. ^Wait til you see the end product! This is something the park has needed for a while now. The old closing show just wasn't cutting it and last years version of it really showed that.
  8. Who's excited for Luminosity!?!
  9. I actually love the name. Then again, I am a little bias
  10. ^It sounds just like that. And after running a ropes course myself, I find it odd to now dump water all over an attraction that was not allowed to be operated in the rain.
  11. I wish the park would announce something else already so people can start bitching about it and we can move away from talking about FL and how it is ruining the park. According to their Twitter, some kind of announcement should be coming soon about 'Luminosity'.
  12. Which is what Cedar Point is going to do. As to how much we don't know, thus the reason it is stupid for anyone to state on here that this is already a failure.
  13. But how many people had already bought a Q-Bot for that day? I am guessing the number was much larger then the number of Fast Lane passes that could be sold for a day. We know that there is a limit on how many they will sell for a day, no one knows what the amount is but I would bet the farm that it is a lot smaller of a number then what a Six Flags park would sell in Q-Bots. From those that have experienced it already at Kings Island, they have all said your wait is not increased that much with Fast Lane. I know its hard to fathom the thought of waiting until we see the system working at Cedar Point, you know since non of us have yet, but killing this idea just because you think your wait time might increase 15 minutes is a bit much. Come back on here in July and tell me how much it sucks then.
  14. ^Exactly, those are all perks that A LOT of people can't afford. So if people want to throw around a classification system, it started with offering different levels of season passes, not this new Fast Lane pass. Which lets be honest, is still not that new since it is basically the same as the VIP Experience minus the tour guide.
  15. Of all the comments that have been brought up regarding the new Fast Lane, it's the ones pertaining to the park catering to the upperclass that annoy me the most. This is nothing new at all for Cedar Point or ANY other amusement park. You can say the same thing about parks that offer a Season Pass and a Platinum Pass. The Platinum Pass that costs more, gives you more perks like early entry. So if you have a regular pass, you are stuck watching all those with "more money" playing and having fun before you get your chance. Another is on-site hotels. Breakers Hotel is a lot more expensive then the Holiday Inn in Sandusky, so does anyone that stays off property feel degraded from those at the nicer hotels? Bottom line, this is nothing new and happens at all parks. Fast Lane is not creating a class system anymore then what I mentioned above does, and if one of these offerings did, it would be the PLATINUM Pass. The price point for this is also not catering to the rich or "well off", it is a damn good deal. The best example was give a few posts ago about how it would be cheaper to get the pass and go one day instead of going two days and spending money on a hotel.
  16. ^So what about the past 5+ years where they basically have been offering the same thing with the VIP Experience? You get the same that Fast Lane gives you plus a tour guide. Fast Lane is basically a less expensive version of that, that is now more advertised. Where were all the complainers when they started that back then? And while they probably don't do as many tours as there will be people buying FL passes, the tours were given a LOT over the seasons. I had a few friends who were guides and they were doing tours every day, all summer long.
  17. I am guessing Mantis was left out because of capacity as well since they only use 2 trains now. That station moves slow enough now because of getting people in the trains.
  18. And I am not really sure what all you could get out of Rampage to make it worth it outside of the trains and mechanical equipment.
  19. They probably base it on the attendance of that day from the previous season, since that is what just about everything else is based off of. I am guessing they have a formula that will allow X amount of passes per X amount of guests (in the thousands) expected for that day. Example would be for every 10,000 guests expected, 100 Fast Lane passes can be sold. Selling the passes online would not change this either as they already have an idea of how many guests will be in the park for future dates.
  20. That would almost be better if all 20 rode at once. Because lets say you are waiting for the front seat but the group of 20 all want the front seat, now you are waiting train after train for your seat. If the whole group rode at once, you are only waiting one extra train. But I doubt you see groups that large buying them everyday anyway.
  21. Well their ya go. I spent an entire year working at Alabama Adventure and didn't even notice the bricks.
  22. I don't believe any of the bricks are still there but I am not 100% on that. Daniel would know for sure.
  23. ^^Well according to this article, Cedar Fair had profits of $72.2 million in 2011.
  24. ^I have a feeling that the park could pull off 2 coasters in one season and still be fine for spending money elsewhere and getting done what needs to be done, especially with Matt heading up future expansions. I of course do not believe this will happen though.
