  1. How could you tell by that God awful video? The only thing it is good for is watching the lighting, with the video muted.
  2. ^Well, they have a whole hell of a lot of space behind the audio booth for foot traffic. I don't see how there will be any more of a problem with crowd control then what they had with the laser screen. If anything, I think it will be improved.
  3. Wildcat had an elevator installed too. Because of new ADA regulations, DT need an elevator if the park wanted to operate it this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire thing was removed starting in late August. And Space Spiral shortly thereafter.
  4. The park has stated that they will limit the amount sold per day. What that amount is we do not know but I am sure it is based on attendance for the day. I can't remember if it was on here and Pointbuzz but someone posted that they tried buying a pass from Pagoda and they were already sold out of them.
  5. You should see the amount of markings that are in the backstage area
  6. With the wait times that you have posted, this has got to be the busiest opening day that I have seen.
  7. It has already been taken to the dump. No chance at all now for it going anywhere else. I love how so many people who have PLATINUM Passes are the ones bitching about the "high" cost of Fastlane.
  8. Steel: Kingda Ka Wood: Son of Beast
  9. Guessing he didn't have permission to take them.
  10. ^I don't know what you are looking at the picture on but its green and purple to me. That photo was taken with an iPhone, not about to take a nice camera into that mess. You actually captured my girlfriends car in your picture. You must not get to Halloweekends very often do you? All of those are Halloweekends related, including the bridges which are not new at all.
  11. ^Huh? That is the current paint scheme, post 2003. And have you not read anything in the last couple of pages?
  12. Some of you might want to look away, this might be to much to handle.
  13. How is this a picture of Wildcat's removal? If we could actually see the ride area, we would see it is still sitting there.
  14. ^^The park said it will be taken to a recycling facility (aka Sandusky Steel). Why can't they still be the Roller Coaster Capital? That title does not equal "park with the most", it can mean something entirely different like "We have the best roller coasters". Washington D.C. does not have the most amount of people in the United States but it is our capital.
  15. Next thing ya know, Avalanche Run will be removed in August! It sucks to lose a coaster but I understand why this one. I just hope they do replace it with a similar sized coaster, just not in the same location, in the near future.
  16. I knew what you meant, my post was referring to you mentioning that it's hard to tell by the Youtube video of how good the lights are. The pictures I posted are a little more clear and up close so you can get a better idea of the new lights.
  17. ^Did you take a look at the still photos on the last page? They were shot with an iPhone but you can already see how much brighter and more clean these new LEDs are compared to the old lights. Just the fact that they actually throw the light all the way to the top of the lift is awesome.
  18. But if they are hard-wired and the connections are made within the housing units, they can last a very long time, even in Sandusky winters. So if the only maintenance on the units are needed every 10+ years, bringing in a crane for a week to do so would not be a problem. Again, that is if the entire structure was covered with LEDs (which I think would look stupid). But if they were to put a chase along the lift, that would be a lot easier and not be as ugly looking. Doesn't matter though, that is not what they are doing thankfully. Well technically MF and Giant Wheel did get LEDs similar to Windseeker. Giant Wheel got the LED bars that the gondola on Windseeker has and Millennium Force received LED washes like those that light up the tower on Windseeker.
  19. This is because on Giant Wheel you are basically looking at the LED itself and not the glow from the LED like on Millennium Force. Huge difference in this situation since anytime you look at a bulb vs. the glow of the bulb, you are going to get two different looks. But wait until you see the lifthill in person, it looks nothing like it did opening year in terms of vivid color. The point of using LEDs are for the lack of maintenance they require. Besides, Windseeker has hard to reach LED fixtures 300 feet in the air.
  20. I don't understand why everyone thought MF and Power Tower were going to receive LEDs like Giant Wheel. Am I the only one who thinks that would have looked stupid? Millennium Force did technically get new LED lights, just in the form of a wash. Which I think looks 100 times better than before because now the lights actually reach the top of the lift instead of fading out since the old lights could never reach that high. These new lights will last much longer and can do far more colors than the old ones.
  21. Depends on the area of the park. There are basements as deep as 15 feet below ground level in some areas of the peninsula.
