  1. Look up any trip reports to Dubai Parks & Resorts. These parks are mostly for the middle east billionaires to burn through mountains of cash so they don't have to pay taxes. As I'm writing this I'm realizing I have zero room to talk because I have no clue if any of these parks have seen significant crowds or not. I'm just under the impression that they're ghost towns. Edit - All that to say, if I see Falcon's Flight is actually operating reliably, I'm looking into flights. With the way things are going it's not like I'm caring about my retirement account anymore.

  2. In my final days in Kuala Lumpur, our hosts took time to bring us to the city's most storied shopping locations, while giving us actual tastes of Malaysia... Eel spaghetti is probably not a native dish but I'm so ridiculously glad I consumed this. Our hosts insisted that we try durian during our visit. Durian, also known as the "King of Fruits" is both an acquired taste as well as an acquired smell kind of thing. If you've grown up around it, you're probably not bothered by it--you're likely a fan. If you're like me that had no exposure to it before this trip, it wasn't my thing. That said, when it comes to food and drinks, I'm almost always willing to try something once. Our hosts recommended easing into the experience with a durian frappe. It was a thing... It was interesting to see durian sold in its full form along the way... The different types of the fruit come in at a range of costs--what distinguishes each type, I couldn't easily describe, but it was interesting nonetheless. Central Market is one of Kuala Lumpur's oldest shopping areas but it has been enhanced over the years... The market has evolved to become an indoor, nearly-modern mall-style venue with shops, kiosks and vendors across two floors. I was exhausted by the end of my day, so I picked up some fresh Indian food on the way back to the hotel. Gobi manchurian here is unparalleled. As was this butter chicken. The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. On the holy day of Thaipusam, Hindu followers undergo a slow processional from this temple all the way to the Batu Caves, completed entirely on foot. The interior of the temple is vibrant and beautiful. After our visit to the temple, we were treated to a culinary journey across Petaling Street. We started with some authentic Chinese cuisine and it was some of the best I've ever had. I didn't know I needed Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp in my life before this trip, but now that I've had it, I can't not crave it. Petaling Street is a unique open air, covered market a few steps away from the Central Market. Lots of street vendors offering items of all types for all desires. I couldn't leave without having street food on Petaling Street. These satay skewers were among the best bites I consumed on the entire trip. The final stop on our tour of Petaling Street was Concubine, a trendy, hidden bar at the back of the street. I have no shame over how the drink looks--this drink with Baijiu was incredible. The next day it was back to the airport to kick off my long journey home... I was seriously tempted to have one more meal at Din Tai Fung while in the airport at Kuala Lumpur, but I had had a full breakfast at the hotel that left me absolutely stuffed. During my brief layover in Dubai, I had a chance to make one extra stop... One day I'll hopefully get a chance to see more of Dubai than just the airport. And just like that, but two week adventure in Malaysia had come to a close.

  3. I can tell you that ert on the new BBW is now on the schedule for the ACE Spring Con starting on May 16. Sooooo, maybe you will get lucky and they will have it going a few weeks earlier at the end of April. Of course that's no guarantee, but it does mean they are planning on having it ready to go by then.

  5. Kings Island has announced that The Beast is undergoing a project that will see over 20% of the classic coaster's wooden track replaced in when it opens for the 2025 season. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2025/march/the-beast-receives-new-track-during-offseason It’s no wonder guests from all over the world travel to Kings Island to ride The Beast. Its record-breaking features include a 7,361-foot-long track (1.4 miles) and ride time of more than four minutes. The legendary coaster has been lurking the woods in the amusement park's Rivertown since 1979, and this offseason, crews began the massive project of replacing more than 1,600 feet of the coaster’s track. By the time work is completed, more than 20% of the wood coaster's track will be replaced. The project encompasses the section from just before the second hill, through the brake shed, and the mid-course tunnel, including the track immediately before and after it. It won't be long until April 19, when Kings Island opens its gates for the first time in 2025. Enjoy unlimited visits for one low price (including unlimited rides on The Beast!) with a Season Pass.

  6. ^^^ Because it costs money. They should just turn it into a Standup.

  7. I have heard the rules have loosen a little for tourist, but i know tattoos and clothing choice, female rights and other types of rights are basically a no go. That knocks out a chunk of the community. Just not sure how busy this place ever will get people will go when it first opens but long term success will be interesting to see. Part of me also thinks that Falcons flight will actually never open.

  8. I am not 100% sure what to expect here, but I was not a fan of the status quo at these Palace parks and you've gotta be hopeful that they are at least likely to treat Kennywood to nearly on par with Dollywood and Silver Dollar City, right? I could see a three tier system forming pretty quickly in this chain. The three big parks I have mentioned would get the biggest and most consistent investments. A second tier of Kentucky Kingdom, Adventureland, and Lake Compounce might not get the same highs or consistency, but I could definitely see Herschend doing some big investments here and there like they have announced for KK. I can't see them doing much with the rest of all their properties though.

  9. I can't wait for some review to start to leak out, Starfall Racers is a top 10 coaster/it's too rattley and the restraints are uncomfortable. Or the Wolfman Coaster is so short/it didn't spin enough/it was better than 7 dwarfs mine train. The instant knee jerk reactions from people are one of my favorite things in this fandom, can't wait lol.
