  1. No one wants rushed construction, but you could start it... earlier.

  3. That's very cool how it interacts not only with the surroundings, but also how it spirals through its own layout. Great addition.

  4. I'm curious as to the No Single Riders policy on Morey's Flume and especially the Pirates dark ride. Is this manufacturer recommended? Is there a history of people offing themselves on these rides when they are alone? Is it the lack of restraints? It seems that there are more and more rides lately that enforce this rule. I was at a local fair last month and they had a No Single Riders rule on a Chance Music Fest. Hadn't seen that one before. I also believe their Paratrooper had a No Single Riders deal. And in regards to their Ferris Wheel, does anyone know why there are 3 cars then an empty space all the way around? I'm assuming it has to do with weight distribution, but I'm no engineer. It just looks, well, odd that way! Morey's has always been a bucket list place for me, but it sounds like between the insane prices, poor operations and several No Single Rider attractions, I may have to go through life having never experienced one of the gems of the Jersey shore.

  5. ^ that's how I understood it. . but they didn't really go into detail. probably not until in 2025 when the parks fully "merge". . then I'm sure they'll talk about it (and raise the price)

  6. It's not like it's some huge prototype either. It's a clone...they could've started building it in March and had it ready by July 1st and I just don't get how this is explainable other than they had a legit issue with the integrity of the steel or something. But the only explanation I think I can believe is "we're Six Flags." Also shout out to Great Escape who hasn't built a new coaster in 21 years for actually remembering how to do it and do it timely. They're on a pedestal above the rest of the chain as far as that goes.

  7. quickie post for day 0 - the welcome day. we all met up at our 1st hotel -- old friends saying hello at seeing each other again, and meeting new friends who were on their 1st TPR trip (ever or in a long while). We had the day to wander around the area (we were staying in Staines-upon-Thames, a "market town" close to Heathrow Airport and Thorpe Park - although that wasn't our 1st park we were going to). wonderful area with lots of shops, pubs, and restaurants. the official trip started tomorrow with our 1st park: Chessington Worlds of Adventure. it was great to see Brad & Jere - it had been a while since I'd seen them. This pic in the lobby of the hotel we were in for a few days: Premier Inn (and loved that we were visiting in June - Pride flags and stuff everywhere). My room at said hotel: and my View from my room: we had a great meal at WagaMama, and some headed out for drinks at one of the many pubs. I was still working on a sleep deficit, so I went back to the room and crashed. full trip starts tomorrow!

  9. yup . . about to update that in the Fiesta Texas thread. . .it was shown during the FT92 event that also announced some new Houses for FrightFest. those prices are special introductory prices for initial offering in about a week (Jeffrey said they will go on sale mid-August for a limited time)

  10. I dunno they might still get the funhouse in action this year. They're getting the framing up inside and most of the other stuff they've installed has been prefab - the elements inside might be prefab too so they'd just need to go in when the walls are finished. Found on Facebook:

  11. “So how many inversions do you want”- Premier Rides “Yes” - Canada’s Wonderland. Looks wonderful. I just kept waiting for the inversions to end and it felt like they never did!

  12. Right now the listed hours have me taking my last ride of the year on Nitro at 8pm on January 1st. I know it's Six Flags and the hours are extremely subject to change, but I don't see it outright being cancelled. Could it be the last year of it? I ask myself that every year, but I hope it continues for many years to come because it's the best time to be at the park.
