Photo TR: Hanno goes to China with TPR

Where to start?

Japan and China have always been on my wish list for places to visit. So after doing the Japan trip last year it was no-brainer to join the TPR China trip this year.

I cannot imagine a better (more fun) way to check out this country then with a group of friends, riding some coasters and having a blast.

I assumed this trip would be an adventure and yes it was. But it was an awesome adventure. Happy to have been part of it.

Anyway, i guess you are not that interested in my story.. so here are some pictures from this trip.

The portable county outhouses we had to use on my Dad's farm during harvest season look pretty good in comparison.

Oh god...those photos elicit terrible flashbacks!! AHHHHHH!!!!

^ I will never forget the look on your face after experiencing those bathrooms, or more accurately, experiencing the Chinese usin those bathrooms.

Great photos as usual Hanno. Your photo even make some of the crappy places look nice. OK, maybe not but still fun to relive the trip.

Day 1 of the trip was Culture Day.

Well let's be honest.. when in China.. you should try to see a bit of the Great Wall and maybe some other cultural/historical important locations..

The wall was the wall, the square was.. ehm.. open and the Forbidden city.. it kept repeating, repeating and repeating..

But at least i can say i have been there, seen it and...

after driving for a while we got higher up in the mountains.. clifs and.. ehm.. what's that?

so yeah, we made it.. and we were not the only people up there..

darn you fog (smog or whatever it was). Owh yeah that bright green is part of the sliding car route down

people people everywhere

from pretty high up i can see why some folks compare big crowds to ant farms..

i guess this was the exercise route (aka lots and lots of stairs)

and it kept going and going. I'm pretty sure that if you wanted to you could easily spent hours walking along the route..

back to town.. i believe this building was "important"

Such a fine line between love and hate!

I found that in the Forbidden City that the some of the rooms that surrounded each squares had interesting displays in them. It broke up the redundancy.

Day 2 Shijingshan Amusement Park

To be honest i don't remember much of this day. Guess the pain was not that bad and we had a decent day

The pictures bring back some memories but nothing painfull

Al in all.. Got some pictures, did some filming.. managed to get stuck on a coaster and had a decent time

Thanks for capturing the imfamous falling-off-the-track moment from the "Circle Reciprocal Coaster." That thing was terrifying! I'm glad that Scottish Steve derived so much pleasure from Space Trip ride.

THIS!!!!

Basically, this is the coaster that, half-way through the return portion, doesn't have enough momentum to make it through the loop.... so it stalls out, *falls* onto the upstop wheels, and then what sounds it scrapes metal all the way around!

We rode it in 2008, and I thought for SURE this ride would have been closed due to some horrific accident, and I was SHOCKED to see that not only was it still operating, but it STILL did this!!!
