gerstlaueringvar
First of all, TPR RULES! The trip is definitely the best days of my life! Enjoyed every second of it so much! Flying to US alone at 16 is quite a challenge for me. After all the movies about Texas(I mean Killer Joe an Texas Chainsaw Killer), I was pretty nervous about it at first. But WHO CARES? IT'S A TPR TRIP! And so glad I'm finally old enough to take the trip on my own! It is quite hard for Chinese people to get the visa to travel to US (political stuffs…) so Robb and Elissa had a lot of extra work for me. Invitation letter kind of thing is really annoying and I'm so glad that Roxanne and Club TPR are willing to pay A LOT to ship me some great packages. Since I live in Shunde, China and it's pretty close to Hong Kong, my TPR adventure started from there. Actually I did not find a 14 hours flight boring at all ! Cathay Pacific (CP) did a GREAT job on their planes and I watched Oblivion which is pretty new during the flight. And I got some amazing floater air during the flight… the people sitting next to me was like because I put my hands up. And before we land at SFO, it's interesting to see a lot of people are PREYING! We all know the accident happened at the airport just a couple of weeks ago. After arriving at SFO, I have 6 hours before the flight to San Antonio. I was wondering if SFO would be as bad as LAX and I was WRONG! Even though it is not as huge as HK Airport, it is still pretty big and I bought some chocolate which immediately melted after I arrived at San Antonio But one thing about the airport I don't like is that you have to watch a Sony's advertisement before you can connect to the wi-fi After 6 hours, I finally board in the flight to SAT. It was the smallest plane I've ever take and the noise was even louder than standing right under S:EFK! Some dump a$$ were late and our flight was delayed for like an hour! It's already 1:00 am when I arrived at SAT and I have to take the taxi to the hotel… OMG $42 is way too much for 11 miles! Finally find something more expensive than China in US! Since I have to get used to the 11 hour's jet lag, getting up at 6:45 is not a problem for me at all. Plus, we got Schlitterbahn! The pre trip or day 0 was a really fun day and I really appreciate the breakfast, the gift bag and the FIRST ERT ON MY LIFE! I have to admit, it was really cold for me in the morning that I was shaking so bad during the ERT. But after the sun came up, it was fine, just felt like home but a little bit dryer. My favorite ride in the park was the lazy river. Dragon Blaster and Master Blaster were really fun as well. For the old section of the park, I really agree with Elissa, I am so lucky for not wearing contact! Congo river is really challenging my patient and the water was really cold! But I really like the bus transportation between the two sections of the park. After a really great day, we had a big welcome dinner at Grimaldi's and we all got our TPR bag! The TPR logos on the really useful stuffs are so cool! I did a LITTLE shopping after the dinner and went to Cheesecake Factory! I normally can't control buying cheesecakes but I was having too much delicious pizza… A huge thanks to you because you read the whole thing with a lot of grammar mistakes. Please PM me if you find any mistakes whether on grammar, spelling etc because I need to improve my English [*] Edited August 4, 2014 by gerstlaueringvar

The Great Zo
I have to admit, it was really cold for me in the morning that I was shaking so bad during the ERT. But after the sun came up, it was fine, just felt like home but a little bit dryer. So glad I wasn't the only one shivering in Texas in late July . Can't wait to see the pictures. gerstlaueringvar
Finally, problem solved! For the first update, I REALLY didn't take many photos because it was a water park. And I honestly do not know how to introduce the photos… For day 0, I had a great time at Schlitterbahn and the welcoming dinner was amazing! Lazy River, Master Blaster and Dragon blaster are my top three water rides now! Well, if Congo River could be shorter, warmer and cleaner, it would be my No.2 after the lazy river. I love the lazy river and I wanted to laugh so bad when I saw the "lift hill" section. The corn dog at the park was so large that I have to waste some of my fries! And my first Dippin' Dots after SFMM tasted great! During the welcoming dinner, we got our bag with full of cool stuffs. Darin told me to eat as much vegetable as possible and it was the advice that saved my life! I've heard Jennifer said I was the first teenager that was excited about vegetables when I nearly cried because I saw salad at CP. More TR coming soon! And happy Mid-Fall festival! Moon cake anyone? Definitely the smallest plane I've ever taken. Seems like there are not too many people traveling between SFFT and SFDK... California! Can't believe it's only been 6 hours and we had to say goodbye! I miss last summer! Finally at San Antonio! I was imagining what a blast it would be tomorrow until I was blasted because I have to pay 42 bucks for only 11 miles! Way more expensive than home! Good morning everyone! What a beautiful day! Honestly I was pretty nervous to start talking with others at first but it definitely went better. The ultimate fail on my first waffle making still makes me want to laugh. The sun is up! Texas is MUCH colder than I thought! Just similar to LA, I have to put on my jacket in the morning. But the atmosphere in the bus made me feel a lot warmer. Elissa was introducing the water park and we were all laughing from time to time, 40 minutes flashed by and we were at a really beautiful and quiet town. The houses were classic and some of them were on sale…humm Master Blaster! Even wristbands made me excited! They matches great! I really like this photo, one of my favorite I've ever taken. Texas has a beautiful clear sky. It is not always like this back home. Somehow I feel this photo looks funny… anyone agree? Can you see a deer in this photo? WOW! So natural! After we got back to the hotel, we are getting ready for the WELCOMING DINNER! How I wish the view towards my home has a view like this! Pizza pizza! And eat as much vegetables as possible! The mall looks nice, but it looks older than it really is. Can't believe it was built after S:KC! I saw this and I looked down at the similar pair on my feet which cost me around $50 back home... Amazing dinner! Have a rest and get ready for the roller coasters tomorrow!
BigBomer
Great start! San Antonio has a tendency to be a bit inconsistant when it comes to weather, but when it's hot, IT'S HOT.
gerstlaueringvar
First day of the trip! Six Flags Fiesta Texas! A six flags day for sure! Even without Iron Rattler, we had a lot of fun. The park is trying to provide the best thing possible to us and the park management followed us all day to make us feel welcomed. Thank you, thank you and thank you! I love SFFT so much! The day started from an hour of ERT on Superman:Krypton Coaster- a pretty good B&M floor-less coaster with some floater air and some intense twists. I started to get dizzy after having 7 rides during the morning ERT and that is not a good sign for the spinner coming after the amazing Poltergeist. Poltergeist is really intense and definitely is my favorite ride in the park. Thank you Hanno for teaching me how to brace for parts of the ride and I love the ride so much! Then we went to the boardwalk where my first Gerstlauer is located. Judging from my screen name, I am a fan of Gerstlauer… but the only Gerstlauer in China is a powered ride that takes you through a garden to see the flowers. The spinner was pretty fun, with some good air on the bunny hop. Then we went to A/C- The Ride mainly for the A/C. Have I mentioned that EVERYTHING ABOVE we're during the ERT? SFFT worked really hard to make us feel good and they were not disappointed at all! After the ERT ended, it's time for more rides! What would a credit whore do first? Kiddie Koaster! It's a lot of fun to ride a kiddie coaster with a group of coaster geeks when the parents on the queue looked at us like following by Goliath, that coaster really surprised me as it's much more intense than SFMM's B:TR. Then we went for lunch. Everything tastes great! I love the ice cream a lot! After signing up for the backstage tour for Iron Rattler, we grabbed all the credits except for Boomerang. Road Runner Express my third favorite mine train, I like the force at the bottom of the drops. Then we went to the log flume where the stupid dragon is located… Iron Rattler's backstage tour is a great experience, being so close to the ride that always exist in my dream feels so good! See you in the future! Finally, the last credit of the day: Boomerang! This is my first Boomerang ever and I did not find it unridable at all! It's pretty fun with some air on the drops and some good force on the inversions. Not like the Chinese knock-off things which gives you nothing but pain. A few re rides and some flat rides before the I AM TEXAS show begin! Then we had one more hour on S:KC and Star Flyer. Again, fantastic day at Six Flags Fiesta Texas! Thank you for an amazing day! Now picture time! Are you ready for it? Goliath! Right next to the park entrance! Getting ready to enter the park. The theming looks good in every corner in the park I think. Goliath! Before… After. Are you ready for an hour of ERT on this?… oh wait… Did I see the green little evil in this pic? I mean THIS! S:KC looks amazing! Star Flyer! Get ready for Texas Sky Screamer! Test seat credit! Closer! Looking forward to the drop. I looks pretty steep for a B&M. Yay! ERT! Actually I think we are pretty quoted during the first coaster ERT. But it completely changed on Maverick ERT later this trip. Nerd shot 001 Is that another dragon? The tower provide some intense ejector on the top but… …This one provide a lot of intense force all the way to the end! Love it, love it, love it! Welcome back, how was your ride? First time ever to touch a Q-Bot! James said Two Bee One Cup when there were two bees on my cup... DO NOT SEARCH WHAT IT IS if you don't understand it!! Gerstlauer! Here I come! Pretty nice looking boardwalk with a bit of feeling like Pacific Park. Are you ready to ride? I remember this car spun a lot. I really like the design of Gerstlauer's seats. Nerd shot 002 Nerd shot 003 What is the technique that they make the chain lift silent? Nerd shot 004 Nerd shot 005 Nerd shot 006 Nerd shot 007 Then we went to grab the first kiddie on the trip! Hi Alexis! Goliath! Which is smaller than two coasters in the park… OMG merchandise of iRat! Grab them all! Empty queue! No need for Q-Bots oh wait... Woo hoo! Right under the amazing drop! Photo! Then here comes the Vekoma! Texas looks good with iRat lol Now we are at West Texas. I AM TEXAS! More flags, more ERTs, more fun! Thank you SFFT for an amazing day! gerstlaueringvar
On the second official day, we were at SEA WORLD SAN ANTONIO! And it is the day to start driving to Ohio! After loading the luggages, we had a bus drive for ten minutes and arrived at the park very early! Of course more ERTs were waiting for us! It's kind of surprise that our ERT started from Journey to the Atlantis instead of Steel Eel or SHAMU EXPRESS(TPR need it so bad!) The ride was not as wet as I thought, it doesn't has the dragon and it doesn't make you completely soak like the Silver Dollar City's. The backwards section even has a bit of air. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom's clone could be fun with bonus theming! Then, of course, STEEL EEL! I've looking forward it since I heard it could be a big surprise and it could be the best Morgan hyper except for Phantom's Revenge. Admittedly, the ride does something to your butt but not even close to Hades which destroy your butt and back then give you a headache. It feels pretty weird that I got a little dizzy after 10 times in a row that I only get dizzy on loopers. As we got closer to the end of the amazing hour, most of the TPR people went to Great White remaining around 5 of us still marathoning it. The GP looks angry that there were a bit of crowd waiting for the ride to open to the public while the ride was dispatching with nearly empty train. Great White was fun, but not as intense as Goliath. I rode it twice and went to the drink booth because we have unlimited refills thanks to the park! And even more, they give us free souvenir cup which looks great! Time for group lunch with Mexican(ish?) food, we had a bit of games and three special guests at the best position to view Steel Eel. How can I forget SHAMU EXPRESS? Because it was too intense and a lot of fun, I forgot to take photos of it Coming up next, how could we leave a park named Sea World without some awesome aquarium, good animal shows and feeding alligators? The park is pretty big(three times the size of SWSD) and my feet started to feel hurt after some long walk from Steel Eel to Shark aquarium and go back to Steel Eel. We left the park at 3pm and heading to Dallas! Bye San Antonio! Since it was the first long drive, the bathroom was pretty popular… do not drink too much lemonade because it's for free! I saw a lot of people trying not to even look at the water bottles when Elissa gave us the delicious snacks. Dinner stop was at a pretty good place, thank you Roxanne for a good recommendation! Around 9 o'clock, we arrived at SFOT and it's time for snack exchange! I've heard this group is the most international group for TPR with people from 10 countries! US, Canada, England, Australia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, France, Belgium and China! So glad I'm representing our country and gave our members some cultural shock that night. My pickles tastes so weird! Since I was a kid, I haven't swallowed one of these but our foreign teachers liked them a lot, so I took it to TPR and glad I saw all of us share the same feeling! Bill and Jennifer's cake really got me that I bought two bottles of coke. It's nice to try things from all around the world and that was a great time for socializing. Me and Alexis went to the gas station for a little shopping and we found the SFOT sign was only like 50 feet away! Of course we have to take some photos! Now photo time! Group photo time! Darin, Chris, Alexis, me and SHAMU! I like the entrance of the park, feels so classy. Morgan hyper was a lot of fun, wee-ouch-wee-ouch-wee-ouch… I stayed on for 10 times in total before I realized Great White is on our ERT too! GO BIG! GO SEA WORLD SAN ANTONIO! Our special guest really want to draw our attention to him/her and he/she made a mass for his/her mommy at our food booth... Iron Rattler! Just kidding. Group photo! The penguin liked to turn our hat around. Those Penguins were walking around doing nothing at all... Not even swimming! C'mon it's summer! And I know your A/C was better than ours. Cute bird! It makes me want to travel to Antarctica…if they ever build a coaster there… Shamu show was really fun! Especially watching people in the front getting soaked lol I've heard the aquarium was built in 1988 and this water tank was the biggest in the world back then. That's a lot of fish! Sharks! TPR is here! Come and say hallo! Piranhas? I don't remember what they were. After watching the movie a couple of years ago, I got the nightmare of them that I don't even want to get close to the Lake Erie at CP! Hi Nemo! Has your dad found you here? More Morgan please! Squirrel! I saw one of them jumped to the track of Steel Eel during the ERT! It stood there and looked around for food. When they dispatched the train, it jumped off the track. So cute! Long drive to Dallas, but it is TPR trip! How could a long drive be if there is no… Snacks!!!!! Thank you Elissa! American snacks is delicious! Great recommendation Roxanne! One of the best dinner of the trip! Snack exchange time! Great snack from 10 countries all around the world except for my pickles! See the IKEA bag at the bottom right? It's in there! The evil is in there! Again, I'm so sorry to those of you who tried it! And you are my hero if you swallowed it! Where we are going to be at tomorrow! Six Flags Over Texas! This is one of the best things staying at the hotel, you can cross the street and take a photo like this whenever you want! Laina, the photo is great and I stole it... Hope you don't mind btw, isn't TPR a PG-13 website? Edited September 20, 2013 by gerstlaueringvar

gerstlaueringvar
Here we go! Six Flags Over Texas! Note: Because I dreamed to ride NTaG since it opened, and I do visual rides at least three times every day since I signed up for the trip… There would be a LOT of things about NTaG on this TR. Not to show any negative attitude, just because I really want to ride it. And it's pretty funny that I felt like I didn't know Shockwave was there at all before I went up the observation tower. First time on my life, I WALKED to an amusement park right across the street after getting up! It's better than I thought that SFOT let us to get into the front of Mr.Freeze's line! I thought there would be nothing for us at all... Mr.Freeze was INSANE! Much more forceful than I expected, such a huge surprise just like Poltergeist that the positive G's were probably the strongest I've ever experience... Because I LOVE Intamin, first coaster after Mr.Freeze would be La Vibora ( our Q-Bot group called it vibrator… ) the vehicle fly up pretty high at times and it really feels like I would be ejected(wait a minute…) Then, we went to Titan! It was my first time to grey out on a coaster! It feels great! Part 2 coming up soon! Are you ready for a 4 Flags day? Woo hoo! Texas Sky Screamer! But not as tall as you thought when you get closer… Actually it was pretty relaxing for me. Hi! Mr.Freeze how are you? Ready to launch backwards and pull some high G's? I love Mr.Freeze+I love Poltergeist+I love Mummy= I LOVE PREMIER RIDES! Now we are going to get some weird airtime! Yay INTAMIN! Intamin wheel touch! Now we are on our way to get some grey out fun! Still on our way to Titan… We are getting closer… And closer… Hey! Why did we reserve for this ride? Empty queue for this? How I wish SFMM's Goliath had a queue like this last year! Grey out helix here I come! Getting so excited now! The station is pretty simple compare to Goliath. We are getting on the next train! Have fun! Welcome back how was your dark ride? Sorry, maybe next time…
gerstlaueringvar
Suddenly remembered that on Titan, I screamed out how awesome greying out on a roller coaster for the first tim e was, the lady in front of me turned around and said:"Is this your first coaster? This is a great start!"

gerstlaueringvar
Part 2 of Six Flags Over Texas day! Wait for A LOT of NTaG pictures! Again, I'm not being negative just want to ride it too much. Started from another Intamin credit-Observation Tower, I finally got the best view I could find for NTaG and possibly the whole park. The football stadium looked massive! Everything is bigger in Texas Then we went to Runaway Mountain(Didn't take any photo sadly...) and took the train to the other part of the park. Of course more NTaG pictures and Shockwave pictures Since our Q-Bot group love intense ride, Mr.Freeze here we come! Judge Roy Scream was a surprise to me.Being the first woodie on the trip, this coaster had some pretty good floater and the old school feeling added the experience a lot. More Pandemonium means more dizziness for me so I only got a credit run(Nice advertisement though). As for Batman, I really wanted to ask the ride op does it take 5 mins to load a train? But I really heard a GP asked her boyfriend how much clicks can lock the restrain safely Superman was also a big surprise! Forceful launch upwards, then , ...Then slowly pulled to the top, , .I love ejectors and this was the right thing for me back then I didn't go to Summer adventure like most of the members so I have more time to discover the nice park(Hey! It was better than Happy Valley Shanghai already even though they have Mega- Lite!) At around 8:30 pm, I went to WAL-MART! I've never been so excited for Wal-Mart in my life For me, covered station... ...Can't stop me from taking nerd shots! Seriously this is funny! NTaG first drop! Finally got to take a photo of the whole ride on my own without a helicopter. I LOVE YOU INTAMIN! More Intamin ejector...oh wait... The park looks like a giant fun fair fron this direction I think... Hi Shockwave, didn't know you were here until just now! 5.9 G must be a lot of fun! maybe I could grey out on it! I've heard there are some great ejectors in this section. We took the train for some NTaG photo! but thanks to Steve Jobs, nearly all the NTaG pictures I took were vertical... iPhone seriously got a great camera I think. SECOND TURN! The queue must have a fantastic view for NTaG lovers Over Banked Turn! I am not sure if posting this picture is proper... Such a sad story happened here...RIP More SECOND TURN pics! First drop and over banked turn! and a couple of bunny hooooooooooops(um...are those bunny hops?)!!! This one or the last one? I think this is better than the last one. tracks! Can't believe it was built in 1978, it does look much better than those old Arrows. 5.9G Old school feeling! Historical coaster, I love it! even though it had some weird smell on the lift hill section. The last drop was a huge surprise Again, thanks to iPhone. gerstlaueringvar
Texas heat really got us and we had an air conditioning break at Jonny Rockets. I still remember how great it was during my visit to SoCal last summer. But I just had a Texas size fries so… Not this time. Because we were in Texas and it was around 105 degrees, I felt like I need to be FREEZED! Mr. Freeze here we come! Then we went to Pandemonium for some dizziness. I like Gerstlauers but spinning coaster can destroy the rest of the day if I ride it more than twice (Happened at SFFT ) Judge Roy Scream was much better than I thought, classic ride with some nice floater . Love it! On our way to the last ride of the day-Titan, It was getting dark. The park looked much better in the sunset. But something happened and Titan was down … Now the park is seriously dead lol Going to WAL-MART would be my next step. Since I got out of the park at 7:58 and the shuttle would left at 8:00, I had the craziest run of my life! I was holding the souvenir bag and TPR bag, with a water bottle on my hand, I have to keep my hat from falling off…And I made it! Then I found plenty of space on the souvenir bag which can easily fit in my hat and the water bottle… Wal-mart was a lot of fun, especially when nearly all the merchandise were MUCH cheaper than China and plus, EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS! On the second day, we woke up pretty early and It was the time to leave Texas. I really like Texas and I felt people are quite friendly there! Not like how Texas is described in those movies at all! Plus, there were not that much tourists compare to California so I feel like Texas more like a peaceful place. At the welcoming center of Arkansas, I felt it seriously funny that there were a big line at the restroom for men. Magic Springs was a surprise for me, I did not think the park would be that big! Their coasters were pretty nice (Well, compare with Chuang Lord which is a 5 minutes walk from my home). I had my first Non-spinner Gerstlauer (I mean the train of Arkansas Twister), My first SLC-689 and my first Maurer coaster. I did not found SLC-689 too bad at all, it pulls some nice force on the back actually. But I heard Elissa said it was one of the worst SLCs… Maurer’s X-Car was fun, as long as you brace for the brake. About Big Bad John, the kid in front of us screamed as if he was about to die! “ Help! Help! Somebody stop! Please stop! Oh I would never do that again!” Highlights are always on the kiddie coasters, we made a big line for their nice named kiddie coaster and Imagining how great it could be with a double down, over banked turn and inversion. The only thing I do not felt satisfied about the park is the waiting time for food, seriously I can ride the kiddie coaster two more times! Next part coming up soon, SILVER DOLLAR CITY! Old feeling made this place awesome! Time for some amazing Premier intensity! NTaG touch, I love you NTaG! NTaG's second turnn looked fantastic! They are so close! This coaster looked fantastic! But I was wondering why did they paint it like Superman?: LEX LUTHOR? Only photo of me not being with NTaG that day I guess...Wait, I had another one with the Intamin! Whaaaaaaaaa? Oh, I might misunderstood it. WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS? We don't have this type of food back home... Those cute robots are all over the world now I guess. gerstlaueringvar
SFOT, Wal-mart, Magic Springs and Road to SILVER DOLLAR CITY !!!!! Goodbye NTaG, SEE YOU LATER! This is finally the last photo of NTaG Goodbye SFOT, I'm going to have some more fun Doritos!!! Hope they would enter China soon. I love them so much! I AM TEXAS Everything is bigger in Texas, well, at least bigger than Chinese Wal-marts Again, Everything is bigger in Texas! The biggest football stadium in the world! I AM TEXAS, I'm a wuffle. Group photo! Arkansas welcoming center is a nice place to stop, the best place to officially announce getting another state credit for a lot of us. I'm on a coaster tour so... please tell me if it is not a proper pose for this seat. I know I got a terrible hair look... Beautiful Arkansas parking lot (because it's not full lol) Magic Springs here I come! My 5th woodie, and my first Gerstlauer manufactured train for another company( should have been the third:( Again, I'm not being negative!) First and the last SLC on the trip, and my first SLC-689. Actually I don't think it's too bad, much much smoother than those knock-off ones which beat you even in the lift hill(ok I'm just kidding) Head banging only happened in here from my experience. Am I the oly one in the world who took a detailed photo of an SLC? This is not a nerd shot is it? Group photo time!!! Hi James! This could be the best POV ever I think. The best time are always on kiddie coasters. I can imagine how shocked the little girl in the middle felt. Beautidul nature, how I wish I can ride a horse in here when I am old...too old to ride any coasters... A peaceful Subway before TPR attack. TPR is here! There were more than five people behind me. Almost there! Celebration City, RIP...RMC can do something to this ride and put it in China I think OMG Silver Dollar City! I'm finally here! Silver Dollar City TR coming up soon.
