coasterbilly
SORRY THE PICS ARE IN REVERSE ORDER HAHA, this is my first time doing one of these and accidentally did this, so start from the bottom up, i won't screw that up next time! Well it was my time to head to Six Flags Great Adventure and take on El Toro! We had a great day, riding 5 coasters (should've been 6), it was crowded earlier on but they lessened as the day progressed, went with my dad, my brother scott, and my good friend Joel. Here's the breakdown. Rolling Thunder: Wait=15 minutes. This woodie is usually rough, but really delivered an enjoyable ride this time, pretty happy with it and will ride it more as i visit more. Medusa: Wait=10 minutes. Shortest front row wait ever, and this ride just destroys in the ride, so much speed and still smooth, one of my favorite B&M's anywhere. El Toro: Wait=1 hr 40 minutes. Well, nothing short of amazing. This is a world class woodie and will definitely skyrocket to the top of lists. The cable lift gets ya to the top within seconds, the drop is incredible, the ejector air is unreal, the speed never lets up, it's smooth. The twister section out back is out of control, we have another incredible ride here at six flags, get here and get on it right now. Nitro: Wait=45 minutes. Another front row beast, this ride must be ridden in the front for the views, and the insane speed. Commanding is all i can say, hands down the best B&M Mega Coaster on this planet. Superman-Ultimate Flight: Wait=30 minutes. Our last front row ride of the day, I love this ride, the pretzel is the best element B&M ever thought of, so forceful and intense, just wow. Kingda Ka- Wait=1 hr. Never got on it, 2 trains away and they closed it for the night, we were pissed. So all in all an excellant day, enjoy the pics!! me and...EL TORO DAY!!! the chofeur, aka my dad my bro posing during the drive the GAdv skyline Scott and dad getting our stuff! Oh my, school kids Here's my reaction My buddy Joel arrived for El Toro day Rolling Thunder was first today, always a fun woodie Had commercial shooting, so we'd have to go back, LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY!!! Time for one of my favorite B&M's Leaving the cobra Entering the cobra roll Time to take the bull by the horns!!! Testing After an hour and 25 minutes, we hit the station I hate to tell GAdv, but basically every train I saw had people with their hands up haha Some things to keep in mind Restraints that will save your life The nastiest ejector airtime you'll ever recieve Never lets up through the first 2 hills following the drop So much speed on this highly banked down curve Me and dad after a very, very, very satisfying ride on El Toro Pretzel break, Cinnamon Style! The best themed section in any Six Flags park Darn, really needed a trim, couldn't fishing wait! Saw some of our Extreme Show Fantasy Fling, one of our few flats Next ride of the day, our top notch B&M Mega Coaster! I'm in the front 2nd from right, Joel's on the end, incredible ride in the front I miss Chaos Swings were up and running after going through some problems The ferris wheel was up and running yesterday the school kids were finally filing out, hooray! Got my season pass discount booklet! zoooooooooooooooooom!! At the top of the massive hill, still the tallest in the world! Beginning the descent Over the speed hill Just a reminder, I so wish this could happen to me Great American Scream Machine, didn't get on that yesterday though A baby goose is interested in our pizza He brought his whole family along! Truly the lift where you rely on your restraint the most The best element ever, the pretzel, this is a pic of the train diving in Our last coaster of the day, and I don't care what people say, I love this ride Me with the beloved Six Flags bus The tastiest looking building in Great Adventure The park has gained lots of beauty over the years The GAdv party crew, look at that kid! SuperScott! Our driver awaits Celebrating 45 years From the parking lot, another world class coaster for Great Adventure What a structure, unfortunately closed before we got on Nothing like McDonalds Milkshakes, mmmm Riding into the sunset after a great day! phazan
Ahhh, very nice pictures! Now that I have seen a few pictures from El Toro, I want to ride it and see what it's like. Thanks for posting!
dougstanton
I rode Nitro last summer. It was amazing. If you haven't already, you should come down to SFOG to ride GOLIATH. I think it beats Nitro.
haiderodes
cool TR...thanks for the photos of the new Intamin lap bars. I haven't seen those yet! Let me ask you (or anyone else who knows), does this new lap bar design replace the need for a seat belt or do they still have them?
Rider117
They still have seatbelts.

Screamomatic
Awesome TR, SFGAdv looks like a great park, I really need to get out there, hopefully either at the end of Summer or Next June.
ECZenith
Wooo, another positive review for El Toro. Looking forward to next month's trip. Did they paint Nitro's supports teal? Or is it the photo/faded paint?
CycloneMan
I rode El Toro twice after Media Day and I must say it was amazing. Way better than S;ROS at SFNE. It's my favorite coaster at SFGAv!
coasterbilly
seat belts are still used, not bad at all either. El Toro is my new #1 woodie over The Beast, and no they didn't paint them teal, the ride is fading pretty badly. If you look at the picture of the train leaving the station and you see the Nitro sign on the side of the station, that used to be silver, look how rusted it is, i think in the next 2 years it'll get paint. Thanks for all the positive reviews guys! I was hoping I'd give ya'll some insight in El Toro and my homepark, keep em coming!
Erik Johnson
Great Photo TR. We were at the park last week one Wed and Thursday during some of that rainy weather. Lucky for us they were still running all the coasters they could (except Kingda Ka, but we did still get the credit). The weather kept everyone away as all the coasters was a walk on. They just let us stay on Nitro for several rides, but it sure hurts riding it in the rain. We got to see El Toro test while we were there and it does look great. The sound it makes around the turn around was pretty cool, and yes that lift is very fast. Have they reopened Batman & Robin Chiller yet?
coasterbilly
^nope still no signs of it opening either, i was pretty upset, haven't ridden it yet this season either . It was weird because the park was utterly quiet without it, hope it'll be open soon, especially since they have Batman ready to go
