I have a new idea

I have had an idea to have a coaster where the seats are to the side of the track. The train would have nothing above or below it. I think I saw something like it in an RCT photo, but that was after i thought up the concept, so I guess I can call my idea original.

There was a similar prototype that I remember seeing. I think it was built by Setpoint?

 

It looked like a normal inverted coaster but attached to the side of the track.

No, No, not with rotating seats, but with fixed seats riding on a B&M like track banked naturally at 90 degrees. I'll try to get some renderings done...

Well, in 07', they are making an Intamin Accelerator that has seats on side of the track at PortAventura....SO i guess your idea came true.

As for the idea, IMO it doesnt sound that cool to me. Maybe a loop, or a zero-g-roll, but it seems it would be uncomfortable through a lot of inversions.

A B&M like track banked at a natural 90 degrees will be the way the trains are fixed naturally. I can't post renderings yet because they are on my other computer which doesn't have internet, but I'll get them up soon.

Here's a rendering of my idea i cooked up with autoCAD. See how the train can ride next to the track and there can be two trains riding side by side....and I added some LIM's for fun:

I belive that is almost exactly what setpoints prototype was like except it uses the truss style track that Intamin uses.

I thought about something like that too, but in my version this is an inverted coaster whwere the seats are on the site. This should give the feeling soldiers in Helicopters experience . This ride can be even better if each seat will get an electronic shotgun and riders wil have to target certain elements during the fast ride.
