I'm glad that they are going to do another Jason movie, but modern thrillers sometimes can't accomplish what the old low budget movies did back in th day: To Scare.

I just hope this time, it's more of a thriller than a comedy. What do ya think?

Can someone explain how you can possibly prequel Friday the 13th? Jason wasn't even the killer in the first movie. What could the prequel possibly have to do with him?

Oh, God in heaven, no! What goes around, comes around. Universal Studios started making "monster rallies" like House of Frankenstein, which featured Dracula, the Frankenstein monster, and the Wolf Man, when interest in their old-style horror flicks waned. The best of these was, believe it or not, Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein (a very funny movie, actually). Too bad they never got around to Pancake House of the Mummy or Vacation Home of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

So, what's next? Adam Sandler Meets Freddy? David Spade Meets Jason? Alien v. Predator v. Freddy v. Jason?

I will admit that the original Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty good, though.

If the studios feel they can make a profit off these endless sequels or prequels they will keep producing them, even if they are complete crap! (There were so many examples of this in 2005)

The current twist is to combine different horror type characters, Freddy vs. Jason, Alien vs. Predator, Etc...

Sadly, as pathetic as these movies often are, they usually do well during the first or second week in the theaters.

For this reason the studios will keep pumping out this garbage for the foreseeable future.

Since movies are so expensive to make, the studios like to lower their risk threshold by putting out movies with characters we are already familiar with, rather than introducing a completely new character.

Movie ticket sales were down last year for a reason. I hope the studios take notice, and start coming out with some orginal ideas.
