Hey,

I am heading to Lake Garda, Italy on the first 2 weeks of July.

I was wondering what the queues will be like at Gardaland, and if they are long, will it take 2 days to get around it, or is 1 day efficient?

And also, I was wondering if Mirabilandia is worth a visit? I will be staying in Riva Del Garda at the north of Lake Garda and I was wondering if it is very far from Mirabilandia?

Thanks

I would allow 2 days for Gardaland due to weather and crowds. Try to hit MoviePark Italy and Aqua Paradise if you have time, they're great!

As for Mirabilandia, it's going to be about 3 hours away, I think worth it if you are a coaster person.

Like Joey said, be prepared to SWEAT.

Thanks alot. I take it from those comments that it is really hot in Italy in the summer?

Oh and is Movie Studios Park and Aqua Paradise far from Lake Garda? And how many days would it take to do them?

Day of week will be a big factor as well as which month you are there. August is atrocious, as nearly all of Italy is on holiday for the month. Since you are there in July, it shouldn't be nearly as bad. I did Gardaland in a day, and I didn't skip much. I went on the 4th of July which was a weekday that year. I got there a little late and there was some waits, especially for the newer rides. (90 minutes for Prezzomolo's crazy house, whatever it's name was.)

I really liked Mirabilandia a lot. If you do get out that way, Fiabilandia is a small park just south of there and I did Mirabilandia and that on the same day.

Will you be using public transportation or renting a car?

Guard your wallet in Venice, and don't touch ANYTHING from an unlicenced steet vendor. And bring a hat, a nice big wide brimmed hat. That Italian summer sun is ferocious!

I don't know about any tours to Mirabilandia, it's pretty far from any sort of touristy area. It seemed like it was mostly locals when I was there.

Gardaland is right near lake Garda though, you could probably get a taxi to the park pretty easily if your staying near the lake. Movie Studios Park is right on the waters edge practically and their waterpark is going to look pretty sweet in that heat.

I think some of our group took a taxi from Gardaland back to our hotel in Verona for about 50 euro. Ask Viking86, he'll know more.

Dammit Yngve! I should have went with you!

No, I didn't see any anywhere selling Beverly in Lake Garda either when I went 2 years ago.

July is a good time to go - the park is open till midnight I think, and on a weekday after 7pm the whole park dies, and there's rides a plenty. They keep all the trains on track as well.

Agreed! I went there 3 years ago. Great fun and the waterpark has some great slides. The double dingy hurts though.. Slamming onto the bottom after the drop...

You should be prepared to the event of thunderstorms. Especially up in Riva as it get's quite mountainous there. I stayed in Riva 3 years ago and it's a really nice place!

You can actually get a boat to Gardaland, although it takes about 2 hours to get up the lake on one of the bigger boats.. There is a hydrofoil that runs around the area but I don't think it runs al lthe way up to Riva..

Kinda why:

If you are looking at getting to Gardaland you will definately need a car or a bus. There are no trains that run up to Riva.

The park itself.. Wowness. If it isn't raining while you are there the place is amazing. Just don't queue for the 4D cinema... It's a waste of time.

^ WOW! That looks really nice. Is that Riva?

Thanks a lot for the advice you guys. This will really help. But damn, I was hoping to maybe try the Beverly because I didn't get to try it while I was at Epcot. We didn't know about the place where you try drinks.

Hi, My family and I did Lake Garda for 2 years now and we made sure to visit Aqua Paradise (a quick tip though the crazy river really is crazy if you want to do it without italian men and women trying to claw youre skin i'd hit it when the park opens!)

Gardaland brilliant, we only did a day each year as we have mixed ages in our group but it was a great day there as well

Movie Studios, really good I did about a day there and it was good.

Make sure to check out the restraunt on the complex really nice!

Thanks for all the replies. But my main question is, is it worth the 3hr journey to Mirabilandia? Because I am really the only one who is interested in coasters. My mum and dad aren't really into them. So, would they find the park worth a 3hr journey?
