pgathriller Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I saw one of these at a carnival and I saw iton Sellner's website. I love Tilt-A-Whirls and I was wondering if it rides the same way as the regular Tilt-A-Whirl. It looks pretty cool. The only difference I saw is the new car design. http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/tiltawhirlg5.html http://www.whirlin.com/g5-1.jpg *350th post!!! Damn, it took me this long to get 350???
SharkTums Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I think Robb rode this at IAAPA...not sure though.
DenDen Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 That's pretty much it. The new open design does make it feel like you're going faster, but in actuality, it's the same old ride. On a side note, open cars are not new, some of the original models were made this way as well.
Canobie Fan Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I rode the one at IAAPA03 and it wasnt that good.. It was new so it had not 'broke in' yet.. so it did some side to side movement but not a lot of spinning. Sexy... Almost.
RCTfan Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I feel as if that is the version they have at Cypress Gardens, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. If so, it was the same ole Tilt-A-Whirl. The operator had the ride last way too long. My friend and I were ready to get off and yet the ride kept going like the Energizer Bunny.
Jew Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I think Robb rode this at IAAPA...not sure though. Yeah, we (Robb, myself, Dan, and Max) did. I thought it was an improvement over the past Tilt-o-Whirls simply because it felt less cramped. The open air design of it sold the spinning a little more too (from feeling the wind blowing more).
robbalvey Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Yeah, I thought it was great! Same old Tilt-A-Whirl, but more comfortable and it "felt" faster, even though I know it really wasn't. --Robb
dougr Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Breakdance looks a lot like this design. As long as you keep your head back, Breakdance is fun.
krouvi Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I think breakdance is better looking and the ride is more disorienting. I love breakdance but I can handle it just for the short version ride - not more than 3 minutes. If the ride op decides we should get some extra time I am getting sick.
