That's the top 10 acceleration records from coaster-net.com, for everyone who asked.

And a crappy attempt to display phyiscs knowledge at that. Since most (if not all) of these coasters don't accelerate uniformly (as most blatantly shown with Ka) you can't just divide the change by the time.

What? I didn't get those myself! What are you getting at? I did research. I have no kind of extensive knowledge of physics, I am barely passing my class. I know they don't always launch at those exact rates all the time, but in general.

Actually, yes you can. That's how you can calculate the acceleration G forces. (average, at least)

Basically, (because I don't smoke, never did, and never will in my live, but 420 is in fact the height of Top Thrill Dragster which is until further notice my favorite ride) you can take the maximum speed at the end of the launch, and divide it by the time of the launch. Take TTD for example (fine, I'll use 4 seconds), the ride accelerates to 120 in "4" seconds. Divide them and you get 30"mphps" (so to speak), and one G is about 20"mphps", so TTD accelerates (in this case) with 1.5 G's of acceleration to get to 120 mph.

Which raises the question, what is the maximum acceleration force that the launch exerts on your body. 1.5Gs average is impressive enough, but the maximum really can wow you. For instance, the average acceleration of your standard LIM coaster is .7Gs. But if you use an accelerometer and get the maximum force, it'll reach 1.5Gs. I still find that very odd since I find those launches rather weak. Dodonpa's average acceleration is somewhere between 2.7 and 2.8 Gs, so the maximum has to be breathtaking.

I find it amazing that everyone has to nit pick every little thing to try and prove their opinion. I personally do not care what the acceleration is or who makes what better. KK is the tallest and fastest. Dodonpa is the fastest in less amount of seconds so what. Bickering over petty stuff gets old. Someone will break KK's records we all know that. Are we going to say that one stinks and KK is better. To me the best coaster is one that packs a great punch with a long layout. That could be anything from a kiddie coaster to The Beast and so on. Both TTD and KK are one trick ponies same with Dodonpa. Acceleration, Top Hat/Hill, Brakes. Each one of these coasters has something the other does not. TTD better view over Lake Erie, Dodonpa I have not ridden but I guess the Mountains, KK on a clear day you can see Philadelphia and it has the brake at the top so you get some hang time looking straight down the drop.

To me the best coaster is the one that has the most amazing location, the best acceleration, the shorter lines, and overall a rather good theme. I'd say TTD fills the bill as my favorite and KK is still up there in my top 5. They are both very good rides, but I just think that TTD is better despite the fact that KK is taller and faster and has a few more brakes.

^You know I have yet to do that but it's so close to me! Okay I downloaded the video, and is the audio wasnt there it would have been okay, but holy crap those people are annoying! They seemed like the average redneck (so offence) type that we have down here in FL...Oh well.

Wow, this is a lot of discussion on launches.

For now, let's get back to the POV. That thing was good quality. It's cool how they got a POV of the world's fastest and tallest roller coaster.

I don't know what I think of the 30 seconds or so of talking before the launch. It's kind of amusing, but it's also kind of annoying, as are the screams going down the spiral. The actual language doesn't bother me in the slightest, in fact I think it's cool that they said the f-word at the top of the world's tallest coaster, 456 feet above the ground!!
