StlSS Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Seems like the hayride would give them better profits from appeal, All I know is October is my favorite time of year cool weather ,work load is lighter, Fright Fest and Haunted houses. ahhhhhhh Moderator Edit: Please let the moderators do their jobs. We have a quality of posts that we expect on TPR and we do not need members questioning what that quality is. Please, do not do this again. Edited August 16, 2013 by ernierocker
SFZIP Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Zombie paintball is really an enhancement to the hayride, it will still use the hayride wagons, with paintball guns, I guess you encounter several zombies to shoot paintballs at along the way, it may be an interesting addition or a complete failure, will have to wait and see.
StlSS Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 AKA: Creepyworld adaptation its proven for sure it will bring in crowds with that hayride factor in.
nrs2420 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 there making good use out of an old ride.aqua twist and the barrels are have basically the same purpose.the platform spins and the cars do also.apperently the barrels was still a functional ride.smart move by six flags by not tearing it down years ago. As far as I know there's nothing usable from the barrels.
Vonni Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 ^ It will most definitely be removed, and most likely for the 2014 addition.

Sounds strange but fun. I'm not a fan of haunted houses, but I hope to get on this. The haunted hayride last year was pretty fun. This can only be better, but I hope it won't cost any more than the regular hayride.
HWFan Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'm glad to hear about RMC visiting the Boss, and the Hannibarrels are definitely coming down. They are tearing out the weeds and there is maintenance equipment on site. I'm having lunch with Dave again on Saturday (the 24th). I'll see what I can get out of him, and what he lets me post. Then, in September, we're gonna take the golf cart on the back roads to check out the Zombie Paintball Hayride set up, and the see the land that the park is going to expand on. I think that once expansion starts, Dave has hinted that we're probably going to have to Wave goodbye to an old attraction. I'll post pictures when we go. I still love the park. The operations department just scored a 99.82% on our corporate audit, the best in the chain!!! Don't underestimate what our awesome team can do.
Woodie Warrior Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Why is the park all of a sudden interested in expanding their footprint? I'm pretty sure the last time the park has expanded was 1999 when they added Hurricane Harbor.
ernierocker Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^Because they want to? The operations department just scored a 99.82% on our corporate audit, the best in the chain!!! Don't underestimate what our awesome team can do. You guys were definitely the best by far of the three Six flags I just visited.
Woodie Warrior Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Well hopefully there is a new big ride coming if the park is expanding. All the flats/smaller coasters that have come in the past uears have taken the place of old attractions, so hopefully this is a ride that was too big to create anything else. Either way I'm glad that they have decided to expand.

I'm pretty sure he is referencing The Ninja, or even possibly Tidal Wave, because Tidal Wave was going to be the ride removed for Boomerang but they opted for the Bumper Cars instead.

And I would be quick to call them the best of the four I just attended. (However, it was surprising to note a high number of rides requiring paid storage compartments, when in the last couple years I've visited multiple SF parks that had few or no rides enforcing such policies. To be fair, this may be part of a focus on efficiency.)

He capitalized "Wave" which is a super obvious hint that Tidal Wave is leaving soon for future expansion.

I just made my opinion based on the fact that it had already almost left, and the fact that it is the last ride you reach before you come to the unused/boneyard/haunted hayride/ part of the park. I personally dont want Tidal Wave to leave, and it is not necessary to remove it for the expansion either. Those who have visited the park will know what I'm talking about. Ample room over there! Removels are not necessary. Check google maps (or mapquest) and you will see exacty what I mean. For those of you not familiar with the layout of SFStL, Tidal Wave is at the Northeast corner of the park.
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Only thing is, Six Flags corporate can say all these things about expanding the park, but are they actually going to go through with it?
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^ I hope so, I really like more of a reason to get out and visit the park when I'm in the St. Louis area.
Vonni Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^ It is a very nice park as it is now, but none the less it needs some kind of expansion. Something completely new, and the all to often mentioned signature steel coaster. I do have high hopes for all of this. Granted this is more of a five year (I so hope not ten year) plan.
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the time I had at the park. It's definitely going to take expansion or RMC on The Boss to get me to make multiple visits in one year. Right now I usually only visit during Fright Fest.
Vonni Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I really like Fright Fest, but I still like to visit in late Spring/early Summer so I can exeprience the water rides too. Which is another reason I'm disappointed at the possible removal of Tidal Wave. That was my first "big" ride at the park when I was only 4 or 5 years old. Its a fun ride, and you get DRENCHED, and it holds very special memories for me.
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^ I have the same memories from Holiday World. I'll never forget how disappointed I was when they removed Banshee. That was the first big ride I ever rode. I had so much fun on that first ride, I finally decided to give Raven a go. I'm not a very big fan of water rides myself, but I understand why you be disappointed if they decided to remove it.
ZeroGravity55 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^ It was basically the same thing as Rush Street Flyer at Six Flags St Louis. I like to think Banshee had a little more force though. It used to sit where Hallowswings currently resides.
Vonni Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ^ Oh ok. Believe it or not I have never ridden Rush Street Flyer. I'm not real big on flat rides, but I think the next time I go I will actually give it a try. Its been rumored that it may not have too many seasons left either so I better get it while I can.
