Louise
^ What? Why?! This is really stupid. If the rides ran throughout the night then I guess I MIGHT sympathise a little more, but even during peak times doesn't the park shut around nine? (We always go at off-peak when it's cheaper and the kids are at school, and the opening times aren't on the website now the season's over.) If you live right by a railway station you can get REALLY loud noise just a few yards from your house, but do you write to the council trying to get them to make trains quieter? No, of course not. If it becomes a big enough problem that it's affecting your everyday life, YOU MOVE! When we visit on the TPR trip next year we should take an abusive banner to wave at them. (On a side note, why is Three's Company not shown in the UK?! I loved that show when I was younger.)
Fry
It opens until about 7 at the latest, if that, in the peak. Also, I know what you mean about having a train station next to your house, we have one about 50ms away, and so we have trains going past every night... These people are so selfish. Hicko
Quite alot of the music/Effects at the Towers have been turned off because of the new ruling. Oblivions "Don't look down" message for example. Stupid Ropers
Louise
^^Ok, now I have even less sympathy. I thought it was a little later than that to be honest because I thought the fireworks were quite late in the evening. Idiots.
SteveC
well AT is probably the quietest theme park on the planet anyway - really! It is packed into so much woodland you will be surprised (for anyone who hasn't been there) -you almost have to be on top of any ride before you even here it, so, fireworks aside AT can probably live with it. The Ropers are quite famous in the UK (notorious in coaster circles) for their arrogant stance, but hey - they won't live for ever and the park will go on Steve - that is NOT a death threat -C
Louise
^LMAO Steve. True though, and then when they die whoever inherits their estate will probably carry on the same complaints. Never actually thought about that before, I'm usually too distracted to notice when I'm there, but generally when you're walking through the shaded pathways, it is actually pretty quiet. Gonna leave this thread alone now, I'm only getting more and more annoyed with the hypocritical old party-poopers. It's hatemail time.
