Stitch Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 For some reason RCT3 just loves to crash on me when I play the Go Kart park scenario, either I will make an awesome coaster for the VIP to ride and the game will crash after I finish building it, or I will get it built and the VIP will just walk for about a minuet and then leave the park . It's driving me crazy, I have also noticed that RCT3 likes to just randomly crash a lot more than 2 ever did, it is so frustrating to loose all you work to a crash
ShoubraStreet74 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I just hate the way coasters are built in RCT3. Sure it's simple, but it's sooo limited. Also Everything is out of porportion, especially the coasters, and what seems like basic elements are non-existant, while stupid useless ones are available(The "figure-8 loop" in the hypercoaster, WTF??). In my opinion there should be a basic building mode and an advanced one, and the advanced mode should be similar to nolimits. Also, The tracks and trains should be put into porportion, and there should be better supports. Oh yeah, and more scenery variety is needed too. So in summary, there is so much wrong with the game but I still really like it..
smallish Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Ummm.. Stitch, you can get the VIP to go any where and on anything in the park. I forget how you do it though. Personally, almost all my problems with RCT3 are fixed in the Soaked expasion anyway.
RctInfinity Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 By crash, u do mean when the screen has flashes and the game gets slow right?
Stitch Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 No, crash means when the game exits back to the desktop out of no where.
FlyingScooter Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I'm sure I'll have plenty to rant about when i buy the Wild Expansion. Yeah, I've had crashes/shutdowns you name it. Everything got better with each upgrade i did after RCT and Soaked. I'm not about to do another upgrade this soon, though. Not when Battlefield 2, Doom and other games are running fine.
DATman Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 you just need to save as often as possible, and that REALLY minimizes the damage. I actually really like the game, but I am pissed about the way you do immlemans/dive loops/zero-g rolls on both floorless and inverted. What is annoying is that the ride needs to be flat for those elements, which is unrealistic in both cases. But for wild it seems as though a lot of that has been fixed. I much prefer RCT3 to RCT2 because it is EXACTLY the same except it is 3D, you can ride the rides (NOTE to RCT2 users: your rides are just as rough/painful as the ones in RCT3, you just can't ride them to figure that out), and it is just a lot more interactive, once you know the cheats. I also don't like the laser editor, because it is just confusing.
DeliriumTrigger Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I hate when I'm trying to build paths on flat land and it does this:
Stitch Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Well, I still can't seem to get Cliff Bushton to ride any of my coasters on the Go Kart scenario . Something I really dislike is how the block brakes always bring the train to a dead halt.
benzo41190 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 -I hate how it takes about an hour just to do a little POV -I hate how people dont get wet at all -When the track isnt smooth at all and it is all cornered -stupid supports -the ability to make a 25 car TOGO Stand-Up train Well but then again, the game is really for the GP. That is why No-Limits is out there for more advanced coasters. But it would be nice to combine the two games into one.
eyeamthu1 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I just can't stand RCT3, period. I bought it, and my PC's a decent spec (runs Half Life 2 flawlessly), but it just couldn't take RCT3. As soon as I started to build a park up, adding scenery, rides and opening it to peeps, the game crawled to a standstill, the lagging made the game unplayable. For me, RCT has always been about trying to make awesome, themed coasters -- to make your own theme park. RCT2 allows me to do this, RCT3 does not-- as soon as I start to build my park up, it crawls to a stop. The 3D looks nice, but if the game can't function properly because of it, then I much prefer RCT2. And don't get me started on how buggy RCT3 is, and how awful the actual gameplay is... I traded my copy of RCT3 in for £10 and am happily playing RCT2.
