I usually refrain from getting political on these forums, but this seems like a really important discussion, at least in my eyes.

For those of you who don't know, a few days ago the chairman of the FCC proposed a bill that would basically kill off net neutrality, meaning that internet companies such as Verizon, AT&T, and the like could now charge users for access to certain websites. To me, this is awful. The internet is a place where I go to be entertained, to learn, to shop, and many other things. I absolutely refuse to do any of this with a price tag behind it.

Anyone else have thoughts on this issue?

Repealing net neutrality is going to be disastrous for middle and lower class Americans. ISPs already charge exhorbitant amounts for their services, now giving them even more control is going to have a negatice trickle effect on virtually everything. I cant imagine having to pay a surplus to use facebook, twitter, youtube, email etc;

Anyone who doesn't understand this or why it affects them should google 'John Oliver Net Neutrality' and educate yourself. It's really horrible that it's being repealed and can lead to scary unintended consequences.

I pretty much knew this would be the result leading up to the vote and it's extremely frustrating.

I love how Comcast, Verizon, etc said they aren't going to block or throttle any legal content on the internet yet we all know that's false. Apparently Comcast removed a “no paid prioritization” pledge from its net neutrality webpage already. I wonder why they did that...
