My pick as the one who "wins" in the end: Littlefinger

Agreed

I do have to say, although Circe is a royal bitch - she is delightfully good at the "game of thrones" - I love to hate her. But I have always had a thing for the villans.

really?

no opinion on my feeling re: Jon Snow?

R+L=J is almost accepted as being truth at this point, it's more obvious (though not confirmed) if you have read the books. My theory is that the North is going to end up becoming it's own thing again, and that ultimately the seven kingdoms do not end up as a unified thing anymore.

I've been enjoying this show since the start, but I'm finding the current season a little tedious. Too many "soap opera" plotlines, and the overarching story doesn't feel like it's building up to anything anymore. Kind of reminds me of the third season of Lost, when so many non sequitur plotlines were thrown in that it became impossible to follow the story.

I agree, after watching episode 6 I'm quite saddened by this season.

Last season was amazing, more than once I walked away from an episode thinking ohhhhh that was good.

This season is just meh and episode 6 was just horrible.

Wait, Jon Snow is half Targaryen? I would go with him marrying Daenerys

They haven't revealed his parentage. . but widely believed that Jon's parents are Eddard Stark's Sister in Law, and Daenery's mad king ancestor.

meaning that he has claims to the throne as both a Stark (Eddard took him as his bastard son), and as a Targaryen.

not that he'd leave the Night's Watch.. but after the war is over with the White Walkers, would the Night's Watch be needed?

King of the North. .

So it doesn't look good for the Lannister's with Cersei being locked up. Wouldn't give much of a future to Ramsay either.

AMAZING scenes with Tyrion and Danaryes. .

I'm sure GRRM is kicking himself that he's delayed their meeting for so long in the book that the TV show did it first!

Finally this series got interesting! I mean OMG what an episode! That final scene beyond the wall was epic, I really thought one character was going to get it at one point!

Here's hoping the last two episodes can carry on this momentum.

The most recent episode had one of the most brutal scenes on any TV show ever, and one of the best.

No idea what's going to happen this week, except one thing (if they're staying true to the books).

OK, the episode started off a little slow but picked up at the end.

the problem is that there is a DIFFERENCE between "foreshadowing" and "telegraphing". . .and unfortunately, this episode was telegraphed for weeks.

so it was a march to the inevitable, instead of the shock the showrunners were hoping for.

(Tho it also pays to remember that MANY of the storylines are way off book at this point. . so it was WONDERFUL to see Dogan show up at the arena).

Talk about "break the internet". . tho I firmly believe it's a swerve.

Millesandre came back in the prior scene for a reason . . and all that 'flirting' earlier in the season showed some interest.

and remember a few seasons back when the "Lord of Light" resurrected someone?

so yeah. . .don't believe this particular death is gonna stick.

Finally the show is pretty much caught up, I've been afraid to talk about it in fear of giving book spoilers. If you haven't watched yet, spoilers below.

I think the death at the end of the last episode was necessary and, as the writers have said, he is completely dead. The oath of the Nights Watch includes the line "I shall live and die at my post." I expect the death is going to be real and might last for a bit because it is necessary to end Jon's commitment to the watch. Not sure if the show will follow suit, but I think in the books Jon ends up wraging into Ghost.

For the people who have read the books, has the series caught up with the books? I know there has been deviations but I would expect the next book to come out before the series goes forward.
