cfc
Hmm--Virginia Beach itself isn't particularly "scenic," but I guess you could get some nice views of the Chesapeake Bay and Eastern Shore.
mightypotato
There's really not a whole lot to see in Virginia Beach, scenery wise. If you're a tourist, chances are you're staying at a hotel with an ocean view anyway. I'd rather pay the $1 (at least it was that when I was last there) to walk out onto the pier than go up in a ferris wheel.
Myself
Why is it that I get the feeling that within 10 years every large city will have their own giant wheel ?? That might not be a bad thing...I may be biased, but I would LOVE Pittsburgh to get one.
CPSFMMCW
Really the only thing at virginia beach is the beach and hotels. Its a big tourist destination. It will provide good views of the beach, but unusual place to put one.
soldier148
It could be another reason to go but I barely get out there already, and I've been down here two and a half years. It's an okay area but I'm just not as into it as everyone else in my demographic.
Nrthwnd
Honestly, how many of these, does the East coast need?
Philrad71
I don't really see this any differently than the one in Myrtle Beach...or National Harbor (currently in process)...or Niagara Falls....or Las Vegas...or London. They're all heavily populated tourist areas that can offer unique views, so why not put one in? Personally, I find them visually stimulating from afar as well as when I am riding in one, so I think it's a great idea.
