cfc Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 ^^I like the snorting bull shirt. You do have quite a collection, Martin.
milst1 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks, Chuck. Many, many more posts to come. :-/
milst1 Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Nice, Chuck! Now this one, just for its ridiculousness, back and front.
Coaster Dooey Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Hey Martin! How are you mate? You sure have a collection of nice shirts! This one remains my favourite - as worn at Hansa Park on Scandi 2014
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 ^ I have that shirt! A friend of mine bought it for me for Christmas last year.
VF15 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 This is a shirt I bought last year at VF. This shirt is perfect for me since it sums up my personality.
milst1 Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Here's a classic. I hope to do another Bash someday soon.
Nrthwnd Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 ^ I think I still have a WCB on my Bucket List here, some where. Great set of shirts you've been showing, Martin.
grsupercity Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Yesterday we interviewed a guy from Michigan. So.... I have, and still wear that shirt haha
milst1 Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 Whoops, I realized that I've repeated a couple of shirts by mistake. It's not that I don't have enough shirts, it's just that I don't have a good system for keeping track of what I post. I'll try to be more careful. Here's one that we hit this summer, Little Amerricka!
milst1 Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 I don't think I've posted this one yet:
Nrthwnd Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 ^ That's quite The T-shirt for a small park to produce! Reminder to check that out, next time I am there. I know it'll probably be different, or non existent, but definitely worth looking out for, next visit.
milst1 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 Another KI shirt from our August visit.
milst1 Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 These are the characters at Xetulul and Mundo Petapa in Guatemala, which are both owned and operated by IRTRA, or Instituto de Recreación de los Trabajadores de la Empresa Privada de Guatemala, or the Institute of Recreation of the Workers of Private Business of Guatemala. If you ever have the chance to visit Xetulul and its waterpark Xocomil, don't miss it!
milst1 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 This was from one of our first trips, Halloween at Magic Springs in Arkansas.
milst1 Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Okay, I finally started keeping a list so that I can keep track. I know these are a bit random, but the closet is just a total mess and my mood changes. Anyway, I've been doing a little research on Kennywood lately, so here's Kennywood, one of my favorite parks of all time.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Such a classy Kennywood shirt! Definitely one of the best I've seen from there. It's a shame the park isn't as nice as it used to be.

What are the changes you don't like? I've only been back there 4-5 times since I moved away from Pittsburgh in 1999.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 ^ The new management just hasn't kept up on the maintenance on some of the rides. This applies mostly to the dark rides, especially Noah's Ark, Garfield's Nightmare, and Exterminator. Most of the props no longer work, and this is very much the case for Noah's Ark. The old Kennywood Bath-O-Sphere finale is completely blocked off (and has been for about five years now), the Storm at Sea room doesn't work (for about three years now), Noah just stands there looking stupid, and all of the figures inside desperately need a coat of paint and/or new feathers/fur (it's sad to see fake animals have mange). In addition, the new management has let operations go down hill across the park. They've also made some odd decisions for park additions (Johnny Rocket's in the old Carousel building??) As vindictive as I am about the new management, I have to give them props for adding a fantastic new dark ride (Ghostwood Estates) and a desperately needed new coaster (Sky Rocket). I just wish they would "wake up" and see where other things are desperately needed, like an overhauled Noah's Ark.

I knew that the ownership had changed but I don't think that management, per se, has changed. The same people are running the park as before, right? They just answer to different owners now instead of 100 scattered family members. Jerome Gibas been with Kennywood Entertainment for much of his career and comes from West Mifflin. I think there are still at least two Henningers on the management team, along with a slew of other long-time Kennywood employees who've been there 20+ years. Everyone newer is local and probably started as interns. The only big "management" change that I can think of is that Pete McAneny is no longer the President of KE. From what you're saying, it's clear that the new ownership is having an impact, but I think it's actually the same people running the place as before. Correct me if I've got this wrong. I agree that Garfield is a nightmare and I'm no big fan of Johnny Rocket's. But we should count ourselves lucky to have any Noah's Ark at all. It's the last one in the world (The two that survived in England are gone now, I believe) and KW should be thanked for not tearing it down altogether. They've sunk a lot of money into that ride over the years (I think Bath-o-sphere and Storm at Sea and all of that re-theming happened after the 90's), and the new owners are probably very strategic with new capital spending. The decay of Noah's Ark probably has little impact on attendance, and spending to fix it probably also won't have any impact on attendance.
