ultradude306 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Which continent's got the best flats and coasters? IMO, I really don't know, as all of them have their strong and weak points. For example, Europe's got amazing flat rides, however, they don't have parks like CP or SFMM like North America. So, what's your take? Edited May 1, 2013 by cfc
cmullin Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I think the that North America has the best roller coasters, but not the best parks necessarily, and Europe has the best flats in my opinion.
XYZ Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 For example, Europe's got amazing flat rides, however, they don't have parks like CP or SFMM like North America. Isn't it a good thing that Europe doesn't have parks like SFMM?
simon8899 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 US for the huge Intamin coaster installations - while Europe has Expedition GeForce. Europe for everything from Gerstlauer, Mack, HUSS, Mondial, KMG, Technical Park - and of course the portable Schwarzkopf coasters. The best coaster? I'll wait and see how got Smiler is - if it's at least descent, UK will get my vote. The best flats? US parks lack flats, there's nothing better for flats than German carnivals.
Randomman295 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 US for the huge Intamin coaster installations - while Europe has Expedition GeForce. ...And Walabi's Goliath, Alton's Rita, Heidi's Desert Race and Colossos, Liseberg's Balder... The list really does go on way further than that and I'm a little bit surprised anybody could overlook many great coasters for just one. Expedition GeForce, while it may be great, isn't the only Intamin in Europe, let alone the only good one.
Werner Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I also vote for Europe on this one While the US has some really big and amazing rides spread out of the country don't forget Europe has them too! And possibly some even better overall parks here in Europe, still thank Six Flags for installing Goliath at Walibi Holland
Geauga Dog Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 America may have the bigger coasters but my vote is for Europe. I am amazed at how nice a lot of the parks are in the many photos I've seen here on TPR and in many instances the European parks actually put some theme into their rides. Plus it seems the European parks not only have more flats than American parks but in most cases, based on videos I've seen, they are run they way they should be run, not dumbed down like the American flats.
robbalvey Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) Here's what each territory excels at.... Europe - Quality over Quantity Asia - Theming & customer service N. America - Quantity over Quality. That doesn't mean that the USA also doesn't have a good selection of coasters or parks with good theming, but they seem to also have more "crap" than either of the other two territories. --Robb Edited May 3, 2013 by robbalvey
