I know that there is a trip report for this park allready, but I took so many pictures when I was there, and I have never done a photo report before, so here goes.

This water park is really awesome.

It's located a little bit outside of Makadi, which is a pretty newly built resort area outside of Hurghada, Egypt.

The hotel we stayed at offered free entrance, and free shuttle bus up there, so i think we were there for at least two hours every day but one.

Once you entered the park all the food and drinks is all inclusive, which is pretty typical for egyptian water parks.

This one however did not serve any alcoholic beverages.

The park is only two years old, and 100% built by turkish company Polin.

There is only one real pool for swimming and relaxation, but it's pretty small.

In the future they like to build a really long lazy river.

Location wise this park is placed stunningly, but it could get VERY windy since there are nothing around it.

The park never seems crowded, even tough there were a few hundred people there every day, most of them really rude and annoying people from Russia.

The photos are taken on different days, which explains the difference in weather.

Also the park is closed for lunch between 12,30 and 1,30, wich explains why some of the slides lacks water in some photos.

The staff at this park was really great and very friendly.

Anyway, onto the pictures.

This is the entrance.

P1010603.thumb.JPG.f75fa8e7be328c912286c8fabbb062a4.JPG

Here's the first view of the park that you get.

I thought that I should start by showing you the slides that really stood out.

P1010534.thumb.JPG.4c199076d87f1d3a7d89767367b8a672.JPG

This boomerango was easily the best ride they had in the park.

It started with a big and steep drop, and then it took you uphill and into a tunnel with some cool light effects, before it plunged down into the boomerango section.

P1010363.thumb.JPG.5362c486894689ad5020f0bc1fcec9bb.JPG

P1010177.thumb.JPG.fec0e0c9df4275aa412ddc78ddcf3634.JPG

The ride is really big and starts all the way up where the speed slides does, 18 meters/60 feet.

P1010568.thumb.JPG.6141da5bd0916dc9ee6c3c173878aa53.JPG

It has this "natural light effects" built in to it, which means that as long as it is light on the outside of the slide, it will shine on the inside.

P1010491.thumb.JPG.60a48c2dc797d2676d46be2d3b3feda8.JPG

My second favorite was this twister slide. I have done these kind of slides before, but not like these one.

Usually they are pretty slow and lame, or they are insanely intense and seriously dangerous.

P1010507.thumb.JPG.81509cf9fd3c02958f5c522a913fcc71.JPG

This one however was very fast and intense, yet perfectly engineered and smooth.

P1010512.thumb.JPG.f0322dcad35ce2381d71aabcd237e2ae.JPG

The free fall tube in the middle was a nice touch as well, perfect for those not ready for the big speed slides.

It reminded me of a mack water coaster drop, with how it slowly gets steeper.

Let's look at the slides that were really good, and above average.

P1010290.thumb.JPG.329cf66756bd6ac31eecc4f20c1e6eca.JPG

The family slide was the widest model of slide there is, and there was 3 different rafts for it.

3,4 or 6-person ones.

P1010431.thumb.JPG.03a9f7683831a6f5490c7faffd95516d.JPG

It was a very short ride, you have to carry the rafts up yourself, so it was not very tall.

P1010196.thumb.JPG.403198370b2fb46279b0357300126c71.JPG

It started with this long straight run.

P1010199.thumb.JPG.2844e16c7e861b905128906063966d9a.JPG

It spun a lot down these curves.

P1010579.thumb.JPG.4c29f64e9eb25f617c3d12a45dd49922.JPG

Right next to it was this awesome(!) airtime slide. very short, but very sweet.

P1010208.thumb.JPG.bf9a6cbd3bb7e92c4f2adcd0e5fc877a.JPG

Nice "car wash" spray at the top of the hill.

P1010385.thumb.JPG.fef071cc1512144518bfb1b129b8cc8e.JPG

There is a huge and twisty tower filled with the standard slides.

P1010416.thumb.JPG.8d49e5bca77df632ba24bcb8e59a6830.JPG

There are two pipelines, one open (orange) and one enclosed with light effects (the white, black, red, blue & green one). They were pretty standard slides, what made them so good was the finishing drops seen here.

P1010411.thumb.JPG.d3366706061a3509bf6c0754d95e86ad.JPG

There was also a single or double tube bowl.

P1010406.thumb.JPG.b4fa2e9330500c718cc6616636323783.JPG

The bowl itself is very standard, but this helix of death with light effects before the bowl really made the ride.

P1010559.thumb.JPG.de421923f4d67d0da853c5430945583c.JPG

There was also an open body flume, the blue one. Nice and shiny (and muddy!) thanks to RTM technology.

P1010561.thumb.JPG.0dbafa19fc14cf4f050f126b7ef7f639.JPG

And lastly there was also an enclosed body flume, the green one.

P1010117.thumb.JPG.124b879bac8261d198bcb15ccaf8e763.JPG

A cool thing with the park was that all slides had a real pool to end in. Only the speed slide and mat racer had shut down lanes.

P1010382.thumb.JPG.4461fe8a8d096fd6c81d2769f486c757.JPG

Freefall & Kamikazee. They make you ride these on mats, which are real nice and comfy in the shut down lane, and it saves you're back while on the slides.

P1010545.thumb.JPG.00c47ac21108f498311dd25ea8dae5f3.JPG

The freefall slide is the best one I have done. It was smooth and it had a section of straight lane before hitting the shut down lane which made it very comfortable.

P1010543.thumb.JPG.319d426d07cb26d360f7463d4fd02c48.JPG

The yellow one on the other hand don't have that piece of straight lane before the shut down lane, which made it extremely uncomfortable. You just smash down in the shut down lane with no controll. You can see the difference in this picture. Some people were almost flying out of it. Soloution: build a straight piece of lane before the shut down lane.

Let's look at the slide that were good, but nothing special.

P1010029.thumb.JPG.960491e178c021ea365dbaf1c27a242b.JPG

Single rider bowl. Just a regular bowl, it was however no headbanging or discomfort when entering the bowl.

P1010331.thumb.JPG.65051f1c23fe53997a7acecf34b4d2ae.JPG

It's not yet possible to produce the entrance to bowls with RTM technology, you can see the difference between the two methods here.

P1010023.thumb.JPG.6c96e1dec59d0a0b5155bb5c5efe2d8b.JPG

Tsunami slide. Good and fun, but Tornado's are obviously better.

P1010024.thumb.JPG.2116725e03c126feca046bfde226d7a7.JPG

This one had a weird "kink" in the exit, which sometimes made you're tube stop, and you had to use you're feet to kick out of the slide.

P1010019.thumb.JPG.905c9cd0b7ebb12673ac5a7dd360ea2b.JPG

Nice and shiny.

P1010013.thumb.JPG.a084a3eb4e07fc356d2343c4e58a4a88.JPG

These slides only allowed single tubes. Good and fun, but short and pointless.

P1010011.thumb.JPG.2e79513d220fd51ca1bfa2b24b2613c6.JPG

A halfpipe slide were you just went back and forth until you stopped. It looked fun, but the ride experience was lame. Good for people who don't like the big slides.

P1010353.thumb.JPG.01185be1d6c98b59c4693ee9f332cf64.JPG

6-lane Octopus racer. Polin has never been very good at mat racing, and this one is no exception. I have never done a bad one from them, but never a good one either. However the new mat racer beeing built at the Cartoon Network park in Thailand looks to have been greatly improved.

P1010049.thumb.JPG.00448b71dd52b6600a04eeddc73c9cf7.JPG

The slopes were not steep at all, just straight peices of track that changed direction up and down.

No airtime, and no sensation of speed.

P1010348.thumb.JPG.67449aab7770d43a5749299a7ee6891f.JPG

Also they lanes are a bit to wide on this one, making for some weird and uncomfortable sideways movement.

P1010044.thumb.JPG.b5cf937a07e968678e06708bdf13d42b.JPG

Over Supported? Maybe not, but compare it to one from Proslide then this one is pretty ugly.

P1010151.thumb.JPG.473723406e71591e09e8273a4e24eacf.JPG

This slide was just bad. You did a helix and then out in that pool looking thing, from were you had to kick youreself in to the slide again to do another helix. nothing fun, and probably the reason to why it's the only one of these.

Let's check out the rest of the park.

P1010262.thumb.JPG.ce54d236dc9bea1d98e343007362253b.JPG

The play structure was awesome!

P1010289.thumb.JPG.0c4899ffd06e45575d5662ed5680e798.JPG

It wasn't anything special compared to other play structures, I just love play structures.

P1010283.thumb.JPG.eaae850fae622c29322d707f700f1c7f.JPG

It had this awesome corner slide, that looks uncomfortable and dangerous, but it's not.

I which more play structures had these.

P1010305.thumb.JPG.1cd55f9f8c1b1b3a57f82c6a5d9fcc76.JPG

And one from behind.

P1010259.thumb.JPG.8b1a159e0688635ae62194007f6fc65f.JPG

I much prefer play structures to have a real pool beneth them. This one had a zero-depth entry to it, with this awesome non slippery fish pattern on the entrance.

Polin makes the best toddlers pool out of any manufacter.

P1010227.thumb.JPG.9285dc434b061c473acec3692d1e3a47.JPG

Nice mushrooms.

P1010230.thumb.JPG.13be9b7581b70b1a8d490a104a322189.JPG

The octopus was by far the most popular slide in this pool, and it looks awesome. 3 slides and 3 stairs.

P1010449.thumb.JPG.d0898e3abc3eec35540d564afe3a570a.JPG

Cool looking cobra slide.

P1010216.thumb.JPG.3c377d8a5bbf74faa8460e86f2ac18ff.JPG

Cute looking turtle slide with 4 slides and 2 stairs.

P1010452.thumb.JPG.f7ca7b53ba6c7eeb45682adfbf95477b.JPG

Elephant slide, the big boss at this pool.

P1010223.thumb.JPG.6cae57d185b40b17150f7a90e21fc850.JPG

And the bunny. The only slide at this pool I did't like the look of.

And for the little older children (older, but still not old) they had this really well themed pirate ship.

P1010211.thumb.JPG.894582b092f5d2b7250c1dc10cf0f67a.JPG

The theming was impressive on this one.

P1010215.thumb.JPG.1c29c79aa5832ccf7da961a82950bfb3.JPG

It did have some flaws. There's slides on both sides, but only one stair up. Also since there is slides on both sides parent can easily loose sight of their children.

Hopefully I have not bored you.

I look forward to do more of these photo reports, next time it will probably be from a real amusementpark.

P1010598.thumb.JPG.40ae99f74b758c80d2bbda05367bef58.JPG

The big slide tower.

P1010598.thumb.JPG.4b3c0f26f6e6402de357e1c36da5797d.JPG

And one last look of the place.

Polin is one of those interesting companies where, 3 years ago no one heard of them, and now they have lots of stuff popping up all over the place and it all looks pretty cool!

As much as I really do love Proslide, it's nice to see yet another slide company getting some attention.

On another note - just a suggestion for future trip reports - Friday evening is like one of the least busy times on TPR, so posting TR's on Friday or Saturday usually won't get you as many views. Might want to think about bumping this on Monday to give it more attention!

Just something to note for posting future reports!

Great tip, I had not even considered that.

Just got home from the airport, and I think I just got lost in all these photos.

I agree, great report. I'm a sucker for water slides, and love seeing different companies' slides. Thanks for sharing your report.

What a great trip report. I love Polin and excited to be bringing several of their creative rides to Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas this summer!

^I was just going to say based on this TR, I am excited to ride the Polin slides at your park!
