The success of “Angry Birds” since its launch in 2009 has made Rovio a star of the fast–growing App Economy. The company has boosted its payroll to 550 people from 200 just a year ago. Company officials have sent mixed messages about a potential IPO, with the CFO last month pouring cold water on the idea of a share sale soon. Rovio wants to accomodate its growing brood by joining with Finnish information services company Tieto Oyj to develop a 12.9-acre lot owned by the city of Espoo, according to a document prepared by city officials ahead of a City of Espoo executive board meeting on Monday. Tieto wants a new headquarters. Rovio wants offices and a small Angry Birds-themed amusement park. “We’re in the process of developing a concept for a family entertainment center that could be replicated around the world. Concept development should be completed this spring,” said Mikko Setala, Rovio’s executive vice president for corporate development. Edited March 13, 2013 by jedimaster1227

gisco Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 ^ For the most part these parks are more like playgrounds. Don't look for any coasters.
SharkTums Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 So this land will either be an Angry Birds fun park or an Ikea!?!? I believe this is the definition of Win Win!
gisco Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Even better if they put the Angry Bird's Fun park IN the IKEA!
jedimaster1227 Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 ^Or an IKEA with interactive Angry Birds elements! How about a slingshot to put each of your items into your bag?
SharkTums Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 ^But first you need to put the slingshot together with only one small tool!
Wes Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Related: Conan played real life Angry Birds with Ikea furniture!
MNCoasterlover Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 ^ For the most part these parks are more like playgrounds. Don't look for any coasters. I can dream.... The more Intamin Blitzes in the world, the better.
Anac0nda Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I live almost right next to the stated area, and this has also been in the local newspaper. What I have understood is that it would be an indoor park, containing multiple simulators and kid-attractions (bouncy castles etc). I highly doubt it would have any coasters, a Go-Gator at max. Also if I recall correctly, the IKEA is not coming. It would have been awesome though to have a coaster almost in the backyard!
