Hey guys! This is my first trip report! Sorry there are no pictures! I got my camera a week after the trip. Anyway! Thought I would post this TR because it was my first visit to SFGAdv, and I thought some of you might be interested in hearing my thoughts.

Here you go!

The park: Overall, it's a good park. Not the best park by any means, but it has a great coaster selection! The clientele is iffy, but could have been worse, so I'm not complaining! I went with my mom and brother, and they both had a good time. My mom only went on two rides though, she said "There are no non-scary rides!" Lol! Operations were not very good, which was frustrating. Food was REALLY bad, I understand this is an amusement park, but it tasted like cardboard! Overall though, good park.

Rides:

B:TR: First batman clone! Yay! Sat back row! (Which turned out to be a theme throughout the day) Really great ride! I loved it's forceful-ness and the fact that it never lets up until it hits the brake run! Strong ride!

The Dark Knight: x2 Eh, it was fine... It just amuses me though that they tried to make a themed ride, but they put the theming in the wrong spots! It was on the SIDE, so you couldn't actually see it! My brother, who is not an enthusiast at all, even said that the theming wasn't very good! Also, something I noticed, I felt like it wasn't dark enough. But, the theming wasn't lit enough. Does that make sense? The ride was fine for what it was.

Nitro: Awesome ride! I really love B&M hypers, (guilty!) and I think this was my favorite! We sat back row, so the helix was super awesome intense! Only critical thing is that it needs a paint job pretty badly!

Skull Mountain: x2 Strange ride! But in a good way! The drop really took me by surprise, but after that it didn't really do anything. And the theming was pitiful! I liked it though, just because of its unique-ness.

Bizarro: x2 This was one of our favorites of the day for some reason, I loved the corkscrew over the mister and I actually liked the audio! I did notice that one train rattled significantly more than the other.

Runaway Mine Train: Ouch! This hurt! I did like the airtime hill over the lake though...

Saw Mill Log Flume: This was really fun! Just genuine fun! I loved all the little drops thrown in there, and I liked that most of it was elevated. Fun fun fun!

Rolling Thunder: I hated this so much. It HURT.

El Toro: OMFG! INSANE! We were in the back row and the airtime was crazy! On the "infamous" airtime hill, I felt like I was going to fly out, and that was WITH the lap bar stapling me in! Awesome ride!

Kingda Ka: This rattled so much! The launch was cool, but I didn't really like it... I want to get on TTD so bad! Apparently it is so much better.

Superman: Ultimate Flight x2: My first flying coaster! The pretzel loop rocked! Can't imagine what it's like on Tatsu. My only issue with this ride is that it got pretty boring towards the end.

Green Lantern: I guess we got a really good ride on this, because most people don't like it as much as me. It was our last ride of the day, and it was great! I loved the stand-up feeling, and I got no head banging whatsoever!

We had a really good day at the park, and I can't wait to go back next season!

P.S. Please tell me what you think! I want to hear feedback so that I can make my TR's better! Hopefully on my next TR I will have some photos!

Thanks in advanced!

Good report! When I went to Great Adventure last year I got mostly one ride on everything because Kingda Ka broke down twice while I was in line and sucked up a ton of time. The Batman/Dark Knight area is a major dead zone in the park, I thought. Nitro and El Toro are amazing, I enjoyed Green Lantern, but I also got to ride it when it was in Kentucky and it was much better there. Less lines, too!

Rolling Thunder needs some SERIOUS work done. The more and more I'm hearing, its becoming more like Mean Streak than Rebel Yell I definetly think some Topper Track would do good for the ride.

People say ROAR at SFA is rough, when I went on Rolling Thunder, I banged my knee so bad after the first drop I was limping the whole day! Roughest Wooden Coaster I've been on.

To be fair, Roar is worse than Rolling Thunder. But, that's like Ebola being worse than the Plague.

I rode Rolling Thunder quite a bit this year on both sides and thought it was running pretty well. I'm not sure why everyone thinks this ride is so rough. The ride is boring but I didn't find it rough. I'm glad you enjoyed Bizarro, I think this ride is very underrated.

A wheel seat and a non wheel seat makes a big difference for Rolling Thunder. It is almost smooth in a non wheel seat but a non wheel seat is brutal. Last month I sat in a wheel seat and it was so bad I had to sit down for a few minutes afterwards.

Absolutely. That is the key for a tolerable or even somewhat enjoyable Rolling Thunder ride. Sit in the middle row of a car, NOT above the wheels.
