the ghost Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I don't know if this is on topic for this thread or not, but it seems to be to me, but if anyone disagrees lock away. Recently HGTV(which I don't normally watch except for this) debuted a new show called "My Yard Goes Disney" where they design someones yard inspired by Disney Parks. I think the concept is pretty cool actually and I know I would like some of this stuff done to my house, although I doubt my parents would approve. Like I said before this isn't general "theme park stuff" but this is just kind of a weird concept to me and I was wondering what you guys think. Here's a video from Disney Parks Blog. If any mod wants to embed the video that would be cool... my computer sucks because I used to be able to embed, but for some reason it hasn't worked lately... anyway... what do you guys think?
coasterfreaky Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 It's an awesome show.....i do work at HGTV though My favorite so far has been the episode with the 'Kid Steam' Rail Road running through it - jealous!
DBJ Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 What would be interesting is to see Sabrina show up in a "Designed to Sell" or "Bang For Your Buck" episode and give her opinion on the sale potential of house with a yard that has been Disneyfied. Imo, the phrase "taste specific" would pop up quite a bit in the review of the backyard.
andre8 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I should really watch this! Those families are so lucky!
Hilltopper39 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I wanna see HGTV do a show called "My Bathroom Goes Disney" and theme a toilet to the New Journey into Imagination attraction. Every time the guests successfully lays a monster stink log Nigel Channing's creepy moon face head pops out and sings One Little Spark. A second toilet could also be themed to a Giant Sorcerer's hat and they could put it right in the middle of a house's main entrance hallway about 10 feet behind the front door (ya know so it looks cool but basically ruins the architect's original design). The first idea should also be an attraction at future Halloween Horror Nights events.

Or just put it in the front yard.

esvadj Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I have been watching this show since it started, and I love it. I thought the latest episode with the splash pool and water cannons was the best yet. I think they run a little quick, I think each show should be about an hour instead of 1/2 hour. When they choose my yard, I am going with the Disney Polynesian Theme. I want by back yard to look like the pool area behind the Polynesian Resort: complete with volcano, water slide, and Tiki bar. I can dream
