CoasterT98
I know I just did a comparison on two other coasters, but I like seeing other peoples opinions, and how they compare to each other. I hope nobody finds them annoying. Anyways how does Griffon and Sheikra compare to each other? Which has a better layout, first drop, intensity.... etc. Ive seen other polls on this, but I think only one on here from 2007, and I wanna see how people's opinions changed. Thanks once again
Skycoastin Steve
Sheikra has better positive g's on that turn after the Immelmann, Griffon has a bonus inversion and an airtime hill. They're basically deadlocked in my mind, although I know Sheikra seems to hold more favor on TPR.
Big-M
I haven't been on either of them, but here is an article that might interest you.
blade1
They are both great rides, but I give the nod to Griffon. The outside front seats are my favorite spots to sit, and you are really out there on the 10 wide. I also prefer the 2 immelmans and Griffon also has an airtime speed bump right before the station. Sheikra has better interaction with the crowd and the cavern it travels in is pretty neat.
chasbron
I've ridden SheiKra 14 times and Griffen 3 but I have to say that I like Oblivion the best . I don't know why but If I had to choose one I would choose SheiKra. The drops and Immelmen loop are amazing, not as good as the drop on Oblivion but amazing. chargersmichael
I think Sheikra just slighty wins here. I think it has better theming and surrounding area than Griffon. Griffon is good it's just the Immelmans don't compare to the one on Sheikra. Is it me or is the loop on Sheikra really good if you're facing the train, it's the left side. I love the tunnel too which Griffon doesn't have. SHEIKRA.
RollerCoasterSmi
I think SheiKra, even though I have been on neither. Sheikra was the first "new generation" dive machine (90 degree drop, inversions and splashdown). SheiKra, in my opinion, has the better theming, it screams Africa to me, Griffon doesn't scream Europe or France. Finally SheiKra is a cooler name than Griffon. coasterfreak101
Griffon's a better ride for me (granted, I haven't ridden SheiKra for three years, and it still had the floor) but SheiKra's theme and surroundings are a million times better. It's that elevated immelmann over the water that really knocks Griffon's appearance down for me.
Pufferfish
I have found that with this comparison of B&M Dive Machines, it seems to not matter whether one is better than the other, everyone will always give the upper hand to which ever one was the first they had ridden. I know there are exceptions to this, but especially between the two rides being asked for comparison in this thread, it always seems that whichever one a person rides first, that is the one they will say is better. Now, my opinion on which one is better. I personally prefer Sheikra as it seems to have stronger positive G forces as well as still featuring the large amount of air time. Also in the department of theme, Sheikra has Griffon beaten by a long shot. I do still like Griffon though, I just prefer my ride to be a bit more intense than just floating through everything. Wes
There's plenty of threads that cover people's opinions on both of these. We don't need the forum clogged with "X vs Y" threads right now. Thanks.
