I remember seeing that same area in 2000- and feeling like there were ghost around; there is something terrifying and haunting about seeing a ride that brought so much happiness to people simply dying alone.

Spooky- and I'm sad to say, a portent for a few parks I know of to come.

What a beautiful, scenic park! Looks like you were lucky with crowds. I'll try to plan a visit there soon.

Love the teaser photos, looking forward to the rest of the update!

So better or worse than Astroworld?

Astroworld by far has the beat on this place! I mean, they have a bridge....and a parking lot!

Seriously, though, I went to Opryland in like '97 or '98 and it was "ok", had some nice theming, a few fun rides, but let's be honest here, when your top attractions are a Vekoma SLC, an Arrow mine train, and an Intamin Bobsled, there wasn't much that was lost. And the SLC and Mine Train still live on in other parks today.

Chaos was cool, but it's the same ride as Evolution at Bobbejaanland, which is fun, but it's kind of just a family coaster in a box with some fun lightning.

Overall the park was fine for what it was, and served the locals well. I'd be bummed if I was a local to the park and it was gone now, but I've always felt it was a bit "overrated" by park enthusiasts once it closed. IMO, it was never on the same level as Dollywood or Silver Dollar City, but some people seem to treat it like it was.

Well, Rob, you know how many people think, once something is gone, many remember it as the "best thing ever" when it wasn't.

Drachan Fire, Flashback (SFMM), Son of Beast... I still eve think Geauga Lake was the "best thing ever" (at least it was to me when I was 10) but it really wasn't. I'm sure others can cite even better examples.
