Zack44
Report: Myself & my party got to the park a little before ten o'clock, so I spent the half hour just soaking in the fact that this was my first opening day ever. When the ropes dropped, I immediately ran to Superman, thinking it would have the longest lines later in the day, and I was able to snag the very first ride of the season on Ultimate Flight, in the front row no less! Unfortunately by the time I got off Superman there was a huge line for Season Pass processing, in which I stood at most an hour for. Then I reunited with my mother and we rode Kingda Ka, which was a half-an-hour wait with only one side but 3 trains running. My mother's glasses also "disappeared" on the coaster since she didn't feel them fall out of her pocket. After that we all got our hands stamped and left the park for lunch at Burger King. After another trip to the Safari, we re-entered the park around 3. In the last 5 hours of the day, I was able to ride Nitro, Skull Mountain, Batman, Dark Knight, Bizarro, Mine Train, Tornado, Bucanneer, Tango, Houdini, and Rolling Thunder (only the right side was open), all with relatively minimal waiting times. Everything at the park for opening day went rather smoothly but I have a few complaints. One: I only saw ONE train running for El Toro the entire day (the Stride Train no less)! Two: The path from Golden kingdom to Plaza Del Carnival was boarded off; I don't know whether they were still getting rid of the Balin's stuff or they're pulling another Old Country on us again, but at least warn us! Otherwise, it seemed like (from what I've seen on past PTRs) a standard opening day when not everything was 100% yet. 5 out of 6 Flags. Ridelist: Nitro 3x Skull Mountain 2x Kingda Ka 1x Bizarro 1x Batman: The Ride 1x Superman: Ultimate Flight 1x Dark Knight 1x Rolling Thunder (right) 1x Runaway Mine Train 1x Tornado 1x Tango 1x Bucaneer 1x Houdini 1x
Zack44
Photos: First ride of the entire season (squee!) So incredibly excited for next month! Hey California, how's you GL construction going along? Sexy Immelman... It's weird that the loop is about as tall as Superman itself. Okay enough of that, onto the Safari! Dang jaywalkers... Catchin' some shade even though it was 50 degrees out. They were like 5 feet away from us but this pic makes it look farther, doesn't it? Oh wow, that giraffe looks so fake... Oh wow, that giraffe looks so hungry. Hey! Can you do "Be Prepared"? "This is my fort, not yours!" "You haven't seen a little girl with a bowl of porridge in her hand, have you?" Oh no, he's gonna die of heatstroke in cold weather! Doesn't appear to care that his friend is behind a fence. "Just keep driving, bub." Baby antelopes are known to be masters of camouflage. "Don't think I don't see that banana in your car!" Where are Thumper and Flower? Fantasy Fling's Tornado's lovely new paint job. Gotta love the dip. The "New" children's area. Not a very good hiding spot... Cobra!!!! (roll) Still love the new paint... Unfortunately, not every ride was open yesterday. The new Slingshot isn't here yet either. The old turtle exhibit was replaced with Alpacas. Sorry to rub it in, Kentucky... The new sea lion exhibit was pretty interesting. Segsee turnz!! Segsee 0G Roollz!!!!! One coaster at sundown... Another coaster at dusk! The final (and mandatory) shot of the day. Thanks for Reading!
Midgetman82
Sorry to rub it in, Kentucky... No harm done . It's better to see the coaster is still going to run, and it's better to hear that it's going to run this year. It's just another reason why I should come up to New Jersey some day. Great PTR! You got a lot of rides in that day, were most of the rides walk-ons?
signaltwo
I think Superman had the shortest line all day, talk about unusual huh?
AmyUD06
What's with the "Safari Audio Tour: Play Track 4" sign? Don't tell me they stopped broadcasting the audio tour on AM radio and instead are charging people for CDs? Though it is SF, so it certainly wouldn't surprise me. gwen08
Awesome! Now I'm itching to get a vacation and try out all these rides. What's the best day to come where there will be not much foot traffic in the area?

ECZenith
I'm going to SFGADV early tomorrow morning, going to arrive just before opening. It's going to be my first time at the park since I moved back to the east coast so I'm very excited! Do you think the park will be very crowded? (Saturday Apr 23) Any rides I can expect to be closed? (besides the obvious Green Lantern)
