Magpie Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I was wondering which is the longest coaster time wise that you have ridden? Here in Australia, we have some last only 45-60 seconds, yet I've watched some clips of coasters in the US and other countries that go 2:30-3 minutes. So which is the longest that you are in actual 'coaster mode', not counting the ascent at the start and the slow down as you approach the area to get out?
DJeXeL Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 In the US I believe that title goes to The Beast @ Kings Island........someone correct me if I'm wrong. In either case it's the longest I've personally ridden.
SharkTums Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Timewise, good question... The Ultimate at Lightwater Valley certainly takes a LONG time, as did Daidarasaurus at the now defunct Expoland in Japan. Any ride with multiple lift hills will certainly help it win this fight.
gforce532 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Yeah I also think it is Ultimate thats to its super slow lift hills. Another long on is Dragon Mountain at Marineland also thanks to its slow lift hill, but still not as long as beast or ultimate.

That bobsled coaster pov posted under the Utah thread certainly takes a while. A good 7:30+! But I don't know if you'd want to count that...
rcdude Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 If you are counting lift to brake time, the Ultimate probably wins. I watched a POV of it and I'm estimating that the total time coasting when both coaster sections are added together is nearly 3 minutes. Including the three lift hills, the total ride time station to station is at least twice as long.
GeorgeT Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I always thought that EuroMir takes the cake (4:33)... but maybe I*m wrong ??? GeorgeT
texcoaster Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Another vote for the Ultimate. Not sure how long it is from the top of the first lift to the bottom of the station lift, but the total ride time was between 6-7 minutes(!) when I rode it several years ago.
1pizza14 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Yeah I vote for Ultimate aswel. It is VERY long just from watching the POV on youtube. In North America probably The Beast (KI) Or Dragon Mountain.
