Where Should the USA's Next Theme Park be Built

Recommended Posts

While I was searching around the Internet for pictures for my powerpoint presentation I found the two pictures below. Anyone have any idea what this ride is/was? All the caption said was that they were from East Germany. I will have the final update of my park selection real soon.

Those photos are from Spree Park which was in Berlin.

One of the photos you posted can be found on page 5.

^Like I said, I knew where they were from, I just could not figure out what kind of ride it was.

Anyways,

Here is the end of my project:

After the two maps below, I announced that our company was ready to contact Fayette County to begin the next phase of the site selection process.

This is a satellite image of the area where my study point between Austin and Houston is located. We can see a few water features as well as a few buildings here and there. Not much of the land in the greater area appears to be typical farmland.

In the previous map we were not able to fully determine the "depth" of the land. This is a topographical map. We can see that where our study area is the land is relatively flat and it is near a major road that connects to the Interstate

I live in Austin and I used to live in Houston. US Highway 290 also runs through Fayette and is heavily travelled. Anything between 290 and I-10 would be a great location. Most people travelling to Houston from Austin take 290. La Grange, a ZZ-Top song, is also the only stop during the annual MS 150 (a bike ride from Houston to Austin supporting MS). In case you wanted to know a little more about the area.

Las Vegas?

I've heard it tried the family friendly thing but it flopped. But then again, that would be for strictly the casinos/strip right? Also I heard they removed the pirate show from mandala bay and replaced it with a barely family friendly "striper" themed show.

I'm all for Nashville getting a park. They used to have Opryland. Even though I've never been there, my girlfriend absolutely loved it and is still upset that it doesn't exist anymore.

There could be a music themed park in that area, similar to Hard Rock/Freestyle. The only difference is that they couldn't charge $60 at the gate, pay all the employees $10+/hr when they hadn't even opened yet, and they would have to advertise. Nashville does have some larger city neighbors as well; Memphis, Louisville, St Louis, and Knoxville.

That's just my opinion.

Oh, if they did a Downtown Disney/City Walk type place and had it full of Honky Tonk bars, I'd be totally ok with that.

I know this is completely random, but you indicated a theme park in the Billings, Montana region. I can tell you that all that is there is a small water park. Neither Wyoming or Montana have ANY theme parks, however they do not have the population to support one according to your criteria, except that the region receives millions of summer tourists.

I believe the park you have indicated is 'Amusement Park Drive In,' which, really, is NOT an amusement park.

Chris.

^Yes, you are correct, that dot in Montana is for the Amusement Park Drive-In. I included many tiny parks in my map - one of the two dots in Phoenix is for a tiny little park that has a roller coaster that looks like its home made. Oddly I live in the Cleveland area (for another month and a half) and I forgot to include a dot for Kiddie Park, which is about five miles from me.
