deguy123 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 We left Delaware around 8:30ish and arrived almost exactly at 11 to purchase the wristbands. We both have been to the park before, I went maybe in 2005ish when Whirlwind was still there so it had been a while. We were both excited to be heading back and my daughter sort of remembers going also. She might have been only 4 at the time. The park as usually was fun and we all had a great time. It was more busy then normal days I'm sure but we expected that since it was Labor Day weekend. It was also fairly cold out so we didn't ride Swoosh....Here are some random notes -The Phoenix is just as insane as I rememeber it! LOVED IT. Although me not think about it, my daughters glasses flew off on the last hills(she needed new ones anyway). Next time Ill know better. They had one train on at first which made the line fairly long but once inside waiting for the next train, they added another one. We rode it both front and back! -The Bumper cars are amazing....thats all I have to say! -The Satellite was fun but my leg was digging into this bolt, maybe next time i'll ride alone as my daughter was slamming into me. -Cosmotron was fun, I missed it last time but the song Welcome to the Jungle was on so it was pretty fun. Slow cycle though -The Twister was more fun at nigth for some reason....we rode it both front and back! -The food was sooooo good and priced very well -No line cutting at all -Most rides were a 10-15 minute wait which isn't that bad. Devin excited about heading there but not the drive! Bobby, try to act more exicted We are CLOSE! First ride of the day, really fun ride and its actually better to load like this IMO BUSY! I'll skip it! This is where we were standing waiting while it had one train going. GLASSES ON...not so much afterwards! I actually got on this(I really like the claw) but I had nothing to focus on infront of me UGH Skipping this too after riding Fandango I was the only one that got soaked See no glasses Devin pointing at me! Crazy ride but had fun....actually glad I got on! The Swings don't actually go that high up....maybe too close to Satellite? The Whipper....love that name Acting crazy as usual These boats were having all kinds of problems....we skipped them cause the line was long Waiting for Kosmos Curves.....new credit for us!!! Number 99 for me! I wonder what 100 will be??? LOVE THESE! Last picture! He is packing
jynx242 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks for posting these. I absolutely loved Knoebels when we were there last. Tell me you guys rode the carousel and grabbed for the rings though. David
Moose Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 With the park being that crowded the lines were still only 15 minutes? Wow. That's great! I really need to visit this park. Thanks for your report!
deguy123 Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks for posting these. I absolutely loved Knoebels when we were there last. Tell me you guys rode the carousel and grabbed for the ringy dingy ding-a-ling dings though. David We actually last minute remembered to run there and get on.....by the time we got on all the outside ones were taken and we didn't wait in line again. Next time I guess With the park being that crowded the lines were still only 15 minutes? Wow. That's great!I really need to visit this park. Thanks for your report! Yeah I'd say 15 minutes was the normal....although we might have waited a bit longer for the Bumper Cars but they are worth it. Some HUGE guy hit me and my car went on one side HAHA.
jynx242 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Getting hit in those bumper cars is like being in a real car accident Those things were AWESOME! During the East Coast Tour in 2008 we had a TPR takeover of the Knoebels Bumper Cars. I'm truly suprised someone didn't die. David
Philrad71 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Nice report...I also LOVED those bumper cars! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard on a ride in my entire life. I just had tears streaming down my face just watching the reactions from people being nailed so violently! My partner got hit so hard right at the beginning of the ride that it knocked his hat off and then it proceeded to get ran over by about ten more cars!!! He ended up throwing it out because of all the wheel lubricants on it! Oh, and I agree that the rest of the park kicks all sorts of butt too. Glad to know that even though it was busy on Labor Day that line waits were not that bad. We went on a Friday & Saturday in August and the crowds looked about the same (full parking lot). We were actually talking about our whole family going camping there for Labor Day next year, but I would imagine that I would have to make reservations about six months in advance.
Band-Aid Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Even after going to Knoebel's each summer for years, I've NEVER seen it that crowded. Its good that the lines were still fairly short though
Nozzy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Nice report. Knoebel's is pretty awesome in how they move lines along. Cosmotron is pretty slow, but its more for the light show than to be extreme. It doesn't really matter how you ride Satellite, you're gonna get beat up ^_^ Also, I recommend always skipping Wipeout. This is the only case where I think a ride is too intense, and I am a fan of spinning things!
grinch1313 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Great TR! I love Knoebels. Really nice photos. Looks like you guys had a great time!
