Am I the only one who feels all of those tornado slides are an extreme waste of material? At least half of the thing isn't used!

In some cases the Tornados are completely enclosed - sometimes because they want to keep an indoor water park environment isolated from the outside (Great Wolf Lodge) and sometimes because they want visual effects on the inside (Brain Wash).

The Abyss is actually available in a half model, but nobody has bought it yet.

Honestly, something about that slide looks really awkward to me. I like the look of the full funnel better.

 

Also, did anyone else notice the vertical raft conveyor belt on that black and white slide? I've never seen anything like it before.

^It does look kind of odd. Almost as if someone erased the op on Paint.

^ Oh it's a waist no doubt, but it looks really good! Kinda like a Ferrari, it's nice to be able to drive in 230 mph, but you never do it.

I kind of like that, actually. But I agree it doesn't carry the "wow" factor of the full funnel. Nice analogy to the Ferrari, btw.

I'm aware of those two styles and they really work! I've not ridden one that is fully enclosed but I've passed a few on the highway with the lighting effects going and it definitely would enhance the experience. The ones that don't have the added effects, however, just seem to be a waste.
