CCJared Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Yes, but I thought that I would give them a bit more to play with.
dr.gumbo Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I might have a go just to get my mind of work at times. Not guaranteed to turn something in though.
Sasquatch Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 According to the force graphs I've seen, B:TR stays under 4 g's going through the loops. Measurements like that are taken from the middle car of the train, so the forces can reach near 5g at either end, especially the front car!
AJClarke0912 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 ^That's what I'm getting! I'm even looking at videos, and my speed or height doesn't seem off... I dunno...double-zero may be the way to go if I can pull it off. How can this be wrong?! I dunno...oh well. Oh, I also discovered that a double-zero is WAY too tight... ...what am I going to do? Wait...can we make shallow-ish trenches? BTR has them...
themeparkologist Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I never signed up. I could try...no promises on turning anything in though.
dmaxsba2408 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Added a pic of the goodies for winning in the first post. Enjoy! That is so cool of you to provide a prize for this contest and a great one at that! Good luck everyone. Looking forward to see how different Bat Man could have been.
AJClarke0912 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Meh, I'm going over the limit anyway. It's realistic, in my opinion. But if it takes off points, its my fault. Just going out on a limb here. I was also going to start a contest until I saw this, and combined with Three Blind Mice, I thought it could wait. But relating to this...I may incorporate a mailed prize...either US monetary goodness or CoasterDynamix goodness...
CCJared Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Oh, I also discovered that a double-zero is WAY too tight... ...what am I going to do? Wait...can we make shallow-ish trenches? BTR has them... Feel free, but like I said. You won't be scored for any theming.
CCJared Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 Thanks dude, you were a little late, but never mind. The thought that counts. We got any screen shots yet guys?
CCJared Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Looks very interesting, I can make out a lift hill and a pre first drop helix. Looks very unique.
Yika Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I'd like to join if I can... I don't think I've posted on these forums before so hi everyone.
CCJared Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 You can of course join. The more the merrier.
A113 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I was able to make a relatively original/unoriginal layout for the ride, and I had it finished within the week. I'm uploading a video tomorrow morning.
AJClarke0912 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 ^NOOO! My hopes of winning are soiled! lol Looks nice A113, as always...
A113 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Not quite, everyone else has a stab at creating a more original layout than mine. I personally do have to say mine is MEH, but I'm like whatever on it EDIT: I just realized I broke almost every rule for the contest, so I fail
AJClarke0912 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I'm actually breaking some positive G rules, so I'm right with ya. I keep getting 5G spikes on either end of the train on the loop, which to me, seems realistic, so I'm keeping it in hopes that it can be ignored-ish.
CCJared Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Just so you know, I will be taking the force readings from the front, back and middle, then taking an average of the 3 readings.
A113 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Can you give me an exception if I get -1.3 lateral spikes on the wingovers and have a height of 33m? Since most BTRs are 32m?
CCJared Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 You will just have to submit your track and see how you do in the rankings.
tiger01 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I don't have No Limits but I drew the roller coaster on Paper. It has 2 loops, 1 barrel roll and 2 corkscrews ( much like the original) I enjoy designing roller coasters and I do it normally when I have nothing else to do. I have millions and waste loads of paper everyday (i'm not exactly Green). To people i'm just a roller coaster nerd but i don't care because i'm me and i'm proud of me! I hope to be a Roller coaster Designer when I finish college and plan to have a theme park of my own here in the UK, where I Live, and make millions. I hope also to own the first B and M hyper in England. My drawings are Normally better than this but I drew this in 5 minutes and couldn't be bothered to do the paths. When I design a really good coaster I normally Colour it in. Like my GCI woodie plan and my Gerstlauer Eurofighter plan. I might make a topic about my drawings and designs and share them with you all, some day in the future. But for Now please enjoy this one
AJClarke0912 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 ^You need NoLimits then! Anyway, I hope I can get more done this week, as I've been having little time to work on this ride. Hopefully I will get the track done soon....
d34thstrik3 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Progress shot: Still have to fix a few segments. How do we go about submitting them? Do we send a PM or just post the tracks in this topic?
