ECZenith
I had the day off today and was able to make it to the D23 Expo, which was conveniently located halfway between Disneyland and my home at the Anaheim Convention Center. I wasn't able to visit the Dream Store but I was sure to visit many of the convention's offerings. John Lasseter spoke today about seeing his Pixar creations coming to life at resorts worldwide, and also talked about the upcoming Cars Land. Overall it was a great day and I can't wait to check it out again next year. Lots of new vinyls coming out in 2010! Thanks for checking out the pictures! New Vinylmation figures! I was able to pick up the D23 exclusive figure, very nice looking. John Lasseter (center) speaking to fans and cast members along with WDI and Pixar staff. There were these great stitch-inspired vinyl figures, check out the hatbox ghost Turtle float from Disneyland's Electrical Parade Just amazing. dino
Great TR. Love the info on Radiator Springs Racers. I'm surprised Disney is being so forthcoming with specifics so early in the process. The expo seems like it was a great success. Were you able to do all the things they had there, or were there still alot of exhibits that you weren't able to get to? Coaster Cow
Looks like the Grizzly Coaster will be like Expedition Everest, only a bit more sprawling. It will be fun to hear some comparisons of the two. Anyone know if it has been announced as a Vekoma (although the reverse section and train kind of confirms it )? coasterfan21
That Grizzly Coaster looks amazing, even if it might be a Vekoma. I have no problem if it is because I found Everest to be a very good quality ride. I find that Disney can keep up with Vekoma's and make sure they are running nice and smooth. Also Radiator Springs looks like it is just what the doctor ordered for DCA. Another great custom, one of a kind attraction ( though similar to Test Track) for the Disney Land Resort. Great TR. Sticky Nicky
Is that an Intamin halfpipe is see there?
ECZenith
Grizzly Mountain Coaster is confirmed as a Vekoma reversing coaster, much like Everest but the ride will have launches rather than traditional lifts. There may be a small lift at some point in the ride. As far as HKDL is confirmed, that is in fact an Intamin halfpipe, themed to the RC Racecar from the Toy Story films. They are also building a land with the same rides at Walt Disney Studios in Paris.

RCFreak
^RIZZO! Yeah I'm pretty sure it is part of the Muppet Series. Those freakin Vinylmaitions are addicting, I already have three and I'm going to pick up a few more on my birthday with the funcard (like seven more lol). Awesome report sir, couldn't make it out this year, but there's always next year, and it looks like they put out a good product, and not just in the theme park aspect. A lot of movie news has been spilled (Pirates 4 Summer 2011!) and just a lot of cool stuff in general.
printersdevil78
The expo looks like it was amazing! I saw signs for it on the West Coast Trip and really wished I could have gone. Imagine what it would have been like had the WCT coincided with the expo! TPR + Disneyland + D23 Expo.... Whoa! I need to go lie down now!

Hopefully, Disney has thought this one out.

Also, was it confirmed that cars will be bigger than indy? I read that it will be Disney"s biggest ride, but have no confirmation.
ECZenith
RSR will definately be bigger than Indy. The show buildings will be nearly the same size but Cars has those additional outdoor high speed sections. In total RSR will take up an astounding 6 acres! I believe (at least in Paris) they are building tandem halfpipes to make up for the low capacity.
WFChris
I like how each of the vehicles on the Cars attraction will have their own personalities. Sounds fun. Chris.
