sfmmrules!
I havent been for a couple years. What are the lines like for the coasters on Saturday's? Have all the coasters been open I hope? I am tempted to go on THBS but I don't want to feel sick after because of the spinning. Do the cars spin the whole time? I also want to go on Hammerhead but again I would probabably feel sick after. What is the best pill to take so I can go on those rides? Also are they not doing the Ski Show anymore? I didn't see it listed on their site. atem122
I was there the Thursday of last week. It was a promotional day, so the rides had about 20 minute to half an hour waits. THBS had the longest wait of the day which was about 45. To reduce the spinning, try to even out the weight distribution on both sides. I will never ride hammerhead since I do not like those kinds of rides, so you're on your own there. All the coasters were open too, and I didnt hear anything about a ski show. larrygator
What is the best pill to take so I can go on those rides? Â That is a question best answered by a doctor, not someone on TPR!
sfmmrules!
Does SFDK still have that 3D movie w/the glasses?
atem122
I vaguely remember reading about them taking that out, so probably not, I didn't notice it when I went, but that doesnt mean that it's not there
Goliath513
Does SFDK still have that 3D movie w/the glasses? The ride was taken out of service after the 2007 season and has not reopened. The entrance is currently blocked off.
sfmmrules!
Well this will be my first park & only park of the year. Sucks so bad. I was begging all year to go to SFMM & Disneyland & now I know I'm deffinately not going. I will be going on Medusa,Roar(at least Roar is nowhere near as awfle as that Ghostrider!),V2,Boomerang,& Kong. Plus the 2 water rides & see all the shows. Which coaster should I go on first? & Do the water rides have a long wait on Saturdays?
sfmmrules!
I went today-Saturday 7/11 which was my birthday #27. It was a nice day. Except for Kong ruined it at the end. A word of caution: DO NOT GO ON KONG!!! It's not worth getting your head banged around & endng up w/a headache. It was pretty crowded but I got on all coasters except THBS which I can't go on & Cobra is deffinately not worth going on. A word of advice: GET THE Q-BOT!!! I think it would be worth the $40 so you can be able to see all the shows & you can ride the coasters multible times. Especially Roar,Medusa,& V2. This Boomerang is not a head banger. I even went on it twice. White Water Safari is good-you get a nice soaking. I went back to it later but the line was too long. I missed Splashwater Falls cause of the long line. I have pics & will post them later. What program do I use to resize the pics? I sure had a nice day overall & am already planning on going next year on my birthday & will get the Q-BOT. stuartnz
Hey, I was at SFDK today too! Got on the good (Medusa, Vertical Velocity, Roar), the bad (Kong, Boomerang) and even got a whore credit on Cobra. It's a really beautiful park, it really seems like Six Flags hasn't got its paws on the back end of the park. Saw the Dolphin and the Tiger show, both were great. Missed out on the Shouka Whale show to grab a ride on V2. Roar is a fun woody, but really doesn't seem that crash hot the day after riding Terminator. I only went near Kong because it was a credit, and as expected it's an awful ride. Boomerang was bearable (and a walk-on). I didn't get on Tony Hawk, since we didn't really want to wait an hour or so for it. Â A pretty good day overall! Not that much in terms of coasters, but it's more of a "theme" park than a coaster park. Â EDIT: sfmmrules, how come you can't go on THBS?
sfmmrules!
^Cause of the spinning. I can't go on spinny stuff. You should have had on a TPR shirt. Then I would have spotted you! I don't have a TPR shirt. Medusa had a 30 min wait so I only got on it once. Boomerang was fine early-that's why I got on it twice but when I walked by it in the afternoon it had a longer line. I wish I got on Roar & V2 more than once. Did you get pics? Post them here if you did so we can compare! Yeah I saw the Dolphin show too-at 2:00. I did see Shouka & the Wildlife Show but missed the Tiger show since I had to leave at 6.
sfmmrules!
Here are the pics: What's this I see? Ahh a coaster skyline!!! Wooeee!!! Hi I'm your new host of my Odin's Tiger Of The Temple show!
KGA29
Hey, I was at SFDK today too!Got on the good (Medusa, Vertical Velocity, Roar), the bad (Kong, Boomerang) and even got a whore credit on Cobra. It's a really beautiful park, it really seems like Six Flags hasn't got its paws on the back end of the park. Â SFDK has a strict height restriction from the city of 150ft. However, it is not 150ft all the way around. I do believe that the height limit decreases the further back you get in the park. That's why all of the big roller coasters are at the front and there aren't any in the back.
atem122
Wow I really missed the animal aspect of the park when I went, I didnt even go over by the giraffes, oh well, riding the coasters there was a good replacement for that
sfmmrules!
& That's why we have a crappy revised V2. If the twisted spike were straight up like the other V2s,then it would be 10x's more thrilling & be the V2 it should be!
atem122
^I actually find this V2 much more thrilling, especially in row 6, you can barely get that hangtime anywhere else, that beats twisting upwards any day
DiSab
^^Even though I haven't been, I have always thought that the revised spike looks a lot more fun than the normal vertical spike. The only thing that can make an Intamin Impulse better is an inversion. Quite the creative way to comply with city regulations and improve on the Impulse design. sfmmrules!
^Well I guess your right. It does feel weird on the front spike & ours is unique! You don't get that hanging feeling from the others!
Calicoasters
I've been on Wicked Twister at Cedar Point, and I think Discovery Kingdom's V2 is more thrilling! The 45 spike is exciting because it has an uphill in-line twist (It's an Innversion) that is escpecially fun and filled with hang time on the initial and final cycle. I also liked the straight vertical spike (in the back) over the twisted version at Cedar Point.
CGA_88
I love the modified V2 over the previous version. It's an awkward but fun feeling to be held upside down, or at an awkward angle for a couple seconds.

sfmmrules!
I am going to SFDK again next weekend most likely on Saturday. Does anyone know if these rides are still open? I just want to make sure! -Roar -V2 -Medusa -Boomerang -Splashwater Falls -White Water Safari
