kumba830 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 So on Thursday June 11th I went to the park with two pals to meet up with someone who was going with their school. That day had slightly below moderate crowds and the first time I have gone with people who are to scared to go on some of the rides (Raging Bull, V2, Giant Drop, ect.) Ride Count: V2: 1 RB: 1 Viper: 4 AE red: 2 BTR: 5 (My scaredy friends loved it) Whizzer: 3 Demon: 4 IW: 1 SUF: 1 Revy: 1 Loggers Run: 1 Tripple Play: 1 Sky Treck: 1 And one ACEr! Now onto the photos! Part two is now up! [Yes maum I've got higher resolution photos available!] Whee fly fatty fly! ... And so right before we boarded one of my palls had to leave... and as her trip ended the first part of my PTR must come to and and as well! Even though I didn't want to ride it my palls had never been here before so... Why not! No I'm not sure you can hold onto your buns.... Loose articles must be stowed away in a locker for $1... And it wouldn't be a successful ride on Whizzer without grabbing a leaf! That's right It's Whizzer! Whats that I see hiding in the trees? Finally.... Demon's lift is hot... My friends were still scared of going upside down for some reason... So they were somewhat hesitant to ride Demon AE needs a paint job! So knowing AE was now open we decided to head over their.. and to our luck Red side was open! (I don't care for blue side.) I wish Yankee Clipper would open already! This shot is hot! MMMM trough the trees! So my pall said she was going to meet us near the picnic grove entrance and well East River Crawler was right across from that so we decided to ride it... Resulting in the next few sexy Batman photos!! Fish like Churro crumbs....Like more than we love coasters....that's a lot of love! So our little pall that was their school had to go check in/ eat lunch. It was still early in the day so we decided to get some Churros! They have these new thing that say "Are you freaky" all over the park. I think they're weird... As it turned out they loved it! In fact they couldn't shut up about it! So after Viper we decided to get these coaster virgins a taste of whats it's like...and what better ride than BATMAN! Viper is where it's at! Hello their... I don't really care about you.. Ah and its the beginning of another great day at SFGAm!
traincrossin Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 MMMM trough the trees! Hm, never heard that one before. Nice report! I was wondering what the lines were like because on friday they were decently long because of Coasters After Dark. I'm glad you like Whizzer to, it's one of my favorite rides!
LcHg5265 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I rode Viper in the last car, middle seat today (6/13/09) . It was my favorite coaster in the park! On another note, Yankee Clipper was open.
kumba830 Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Great to hear that Yankee Clipper is open now! You thought Viper was great? You should have ridden it on opening weekend it was flying! As for the pictures they will have to wait until tomorrow... I still have 3/5 of them left and its a bit late!
kumba830 Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 Ok so here is part two! So unlike the first part the leaf grabbing girl has now left with her school and its now a threesome. Now onto the pictures! Ahh... The perfect way to end a great day at Six Flags Great America! Hey Robb! *cough* Cedar Fair *cough* Good bye SFGAm! Me being me their was 7 minutes left until the park closed. So I ran over to Whizzer to try and get another ride in! Apparently when I got their (2 minutes till closing) They had already closed off the line... I was sad! I don't know the colors are interesting on this photos... On the Bright side the Trims weren't on to hard... So it was nearing the end of our visit and my friend still wouldn't ride bull... so we went on Batty and Viper then Me and my other friends decided to ditch her to snag a ride on Bull before the park closed... I would have rather ridden one of the other rides a lot because the others had no lines and Bull had around an Hours wait! See American Eagle needs paint! I be lovin that lift! Ok.... STORY TIME! So whenever I go to parks I wear flip flops! They're just so comfortable... So as I was boarding Demon. There is a rater sizable gab between the station and the train, so when I climbed in to my car (The very back as it is the best place to sit) My shoe fell down beneath the station! Which is a good 4 feet down under the track. So what they had to do was hold back my train while they used one of those little garbage grabbers to fish out my shoe! My sandal is now back were it belongs... On my feet! Carousel looks good from any angle! Meh... Their is Batty, V2, and the flumes. Yes! I can finally see more than a little glimpse of Whizzer.... I love Sky Trek! That's pretty! As I said the crowds were pretty average... So.. Since I still haven't ridden the Sky Trek Tower, and my friend was still not willing to ride Bull. (Only coaster worth riding that we hadn't ridden) We decided to take it for a spin! Hurry up I wanna ride! Why can't all rides be buried in forest! Drool..... Ok my friend wasn't going to ride Bull any time soon... So it was time for more Whizzer! Raging Bull isn't very photogenic... So for a while we just walked around (we were trying to convince my friend to ride RB) So yeah I took pictures when we roamed about. Happy rides...Check! I love this thing...So we rode it again! Sneaky sneaky shot from Vipers station! Yummy Psh... Screw Viper is want to be over their on Whizzer! Back to one of my favorite little woodies... Viper! "Hi I'm an American Eagle train... I'm on Inatmin's first coaster ever....Want my autograph?" Back to some ejector air on the bone rattling American Eagle! ooo... transfer track...yummy Zero G rolls are almost as good as Schwarzkopfs! MMMMM...Zero G goodness! My last ride on batty that day was truly awesome! So I showed one of my favorite rides some love! (Actually it looks like I'm attacking it...) See this right here this is what is known as high G's... Look at the pleasure on their faces! This ride is hot hot hot! And now back to batty! So were now half way trough the line and one of my friends has left... I just love these new signs they have near some of the rides!
BuschSchoe Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I wonder why one train had wheel covers on Batman: The Ride and one did not?
Jerrykoala2112 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 American Eagle could go with a Bizarro makeover....purple supports...highly flamable old wood would seem scary w/ fire effects....ooh and fog machins on the bottom of each hill!
kumba830 Posted June 14, 2009 Author Posted June 14, 2009 ^^I don't know ... It has had random Wheel covers missing for a few years now and then... ^ Gosh no please no purple supports! Although I wouldn't mind the rest on any ride at our park... In fact... If they could put water under the ground hugging turn on Whizzer then we would have our own little Aquatrax! (Well the touch the water part) But that's just wishful thinking.
CreditCrazy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Great PTR! I really like some of the "Batty" and Raging Bull pictures.
youthink? Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I hate that big gap in between the station and the train on Demon! When I was there last year on a band trip my shoe got caught in between there and I fell on my face, making it bleed profusely! And then the ride op starts laughing at me, what great service. But yeah I know what you're talking about.
vacoaster Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I love the super man warning sign.... as a former employee I can't stress enough how serious guest need to take these signs especially at superman which has been the ride we've had the most trouble at. Too many guest think its fine to just jump the fences and enter restricted areas as the queue runs right through the ride area. I've witnessed it for myself.... So yes i think people should be arrested and bannded if they are stupid enough to risk their lives and have six flags further liabillity problems. Someone once even managed to make in into the danger zone at the bottom of the pretzel loop.... they are so lucky to be alive
Mr. Starr Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks for the pics, hoping to get out to the park soon!
mike541x Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Nice TR. Reminds me a lot of my trip back in 07. SFGAM and White Castle.
