So I haven't been to Cedar Point since 2004, when Dragster was nice and still new and the lines for it and Millennium Force were two hours long. Good times. Anyways, I convinced my mother to take myself and my boyfriend up this past weekend for CoasterMania!, and, long story short, it was absolutely phenomenal. Maverick blew me away, I got my front-seat rides on Millennium and Dragster, and from 5:30 Friday night to 1:00 Sunday morning, we only left the park for four hours of sleep, Hotel Breakers' breakfast buffet, and a Tomo Hibachi steakhouse dinner.

The only complaint I could possibly have is the fact that CoasterMania! is such a huge event nowadays that we ended up waiting the same amount of time for a ride on Maverick at 11:30 at night that we did at 2:00 the next afternoon. But it's not like we had to be there that late at all, so I'd still call it a damn successful trip. Ride counts are as follows:

Top Thrill Dragster x6 (front and back)

Millennium Force x5 (front and back)

Maverick x4 (only because they stopped running trains Saturday around 9)

Raptor x3 (without getting off)

Everything Else x1 (because they aren’t important)

Plus like seven rides on SkyHawk, three on MaxAir, and one on Thunder Canyon. But none of that matters, 'cause I've got pictures! Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday, June 5: 630PM-1200AM

So to start, let me just say that I absolutely love this resort entrance thing. It’s VERY convenient.

From Dragster’s line. Too bad we’re both too afraid to do ‘em. Maybe one day…

I like this picture, even though the crest is cut off. I think it gives it that super-large ‘can’t fit into the picture’ sense. I dunno.

So after our first ride on Dragster (40-minute wait), we headed back to Maverick. Such an amazing ride. Truly top-ten.

And it’s pretty, too! Basically, if Maverick was cake and I was fat, I’d be all over it. Or it could just be Maverick, in which case I’d still be all over it.

Aaaand over to Millennium. Very great ride. I don’t understand the complaints at all, it’s absolutely wonderful.

One thing I really love about Millennium: everybody always ends up throwing their hands up. I’ve never been on another ride like that. It’s great!

And it’s pretty, just like Maverick! Crazy how one park can have so many beautiful rides. It’s like the Playboy mansion, I suppose. Fun stuff right there.

We’re in to that stuff, you know. It’s funny how people stare at grown teenagers taking pictures in these, but it’s okay for kids to do it. Whatever.

Sidenote: I think that this place needs a little cut-through path. Walking all the way around is super exhausting.

As far as I’m concerned, the moon is supposed to be bigger than Dragster. But this is cool too.

And for the record, I’m quite upset with this ride. Three days later all I hear in my head is ‘baby I’m ready to gooooo.’ It never stops. Ever.

This was ‘ERT’ the first night. Saturday night it was MUCH better, but on Friday it was one-ride-and-you’re-done. Kinda suckish.

Maverick station at night. Pretty self-explanatory. This ride is amazing. It’s totally worth the seven-hour drive from Maryland. If you live in Maryland.

From the Hotel Room: 530AM (too early)

I am of the firm belief that, when the hotel tells you that you have a ‘no-view’ room, they actually mean ‘you-can-see-everything-in-the-park.’

At night, Dragster was even perfectly framed in the window when I laid down on my cot. It was lovely.

Moral of the story: ‘no-view’ means ‘no-beach,’ not ‘no-view.’ There’s a difference.

Saturday, June 6: 600AM-1230AM

We opened up the morning with ERT on Millennium from 6-8. The line was a bit past ERT standards, but not like the previous night.

Front-row rides on Millennium and Dragster. Lemme tell ya, Cedar Point’s got this bug problem. Or they just squirt brown paint streaks all over you.

And then it was back to Maverick for a front-seat ride there as well. Just as awesome, and the launch tunnel was very fun to speed down up there!

It’s funny how the crew’s moods deteriorated when it was the day-to-day employees and not the peppy ERT teams. Super funny.

Oh, I forgot to mention that, during Magnum ERT Friday night, our entire train erupted into a ACEr rendition of the birthday song. Beautiful.

Blue train won every single time. Kinda silly. We actually got the closest race that I saw all day. We were within inches. It was cool. The end.

Tangent: walk by Dragster at night and you’ll smell a disgusting odor. We determined that it’s bugs roasting on the lights at the tower base. Woo!

I LOVE THIS RIDE. (Note: no, I actually don’t. It sucks, we almost got stuck on the lift, and, while it wasn’t that rough this time, it still sucked butt.)

I think that this was ‘I don’t remember enjoying this ride very much. Why are we doing this?’ Apprehension at its finest. And it’s very well deserved.

Love weird diagonal pictures. You know, why not take ‘em, right? Probably because they look dumb most of the time. Too bad.

It’s funny. I post this here and a hundred other people have taken it. Show it to any given friend and its photography at its finest. Haha.

Sign picture number one: Maverick is, yet again, an amazing ride which is unexplainable in words. It’s like the El Toro of steel. In my list, at least.

Sign picture number two: Cedar Creek MINE RIDE (necessary?) scares me with its track-which-gives-in-to-force. Not a fan.

I love SkyHawk. It is too short. I love SkyHawk. End of story.

One of Tyler’s favorite from this trip. Just sayin’. Did you know that Maverick is amazing? Just sayin’.

Also a very lovely picture which is completely original and only I have. Hence the originality. Yes.

Me. Making a weird face. Which is unattractive. Skip over this picture.

I like this picture for some reason. And I like this ride for some reason. I can still have children, I don’t know what y’alls problem is.

I’ve actually had four since my last trip in 2004 and conceived another recently. Seriously. Mantis is a wonderful ride.

HI SNOOPY! I love that dude. And the large phallus in the background. S’all good.

Did you know that Cedar Point is selling the old Magnum sign to Geauga Lake, where they’re building a 200-foot freefall slide? I did.

Me with mah buddy. We’re tight like the lid on a new thing of salsa. Or the fun twisty thingie on a loaf of bread.

Or like someplace which lacks space and is not ‘loose’ and is therefore ‘tight.’ We are tight like these things. I promise.

Worth the wait for the front. From what I remember, not as good anywhere else. Fun, but not as worth it.

WickedTwistaaah. See what I did there? It’s like the way that you’d say ‘Wicked Twister’ if you wanted to sound cool. I sound cool.

I remember reading what the ’12-E’ was for one time. I forgot soon after. Enlighten me, anyone?

It would make me very sad to see this ride go. But I was told that there will be a B&M flyer which utilizes Demon Drop’s footprint to launch.

Maybe it wouldn’t be so sad to see it go. This ride would not be sad IN THE LEAST. Screw you, Iron Dragon, for taking five minutes of my time.

It’s like looking up the skirt of a woman, then realizing it’s a man. Or something like that. That’s what this picture is.

Hello, empty blue space. I’m sorry that you’re here, it’s just I couldn’t see what I was taking a picture of. Oops.

Hello, amazing ride which does not have empty space. I am not sorry that you’re here, and I knew exactly what I was taking a picture of.

Sidenote: Stengel Dive. Very amazing. Very beautiful. Very this-ride. I love it.

Cedar Point does themeing. See? It’s there! Anyways. How do you spell ‘themeing?’ ‘Theming?’ Word says both of them are wrong. Silly Word.

This tree is basically very upset that its friends were cut down to make such a horrible, horrible ride. It told me so.

People always copy my original pictures once I take them. It’s insane, and it needs to stop.

So Maurer-Sohne is copyrighting their non-inverting loop? Maybe Cedar Point needs rights to the ‘Twisted Horseshoe Roll.’ Or not. Just an idea.

See us? We’re just a couple of big, fat ACErs. That’s all we are. We don’t bite. Unless you’re a chicken wing. With BBQ sauce. I love BBQ sauce.

Somewhere between BBQ sauce and this being one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken, this trip report just became very, very exciting.

And another one of those favorites. It’s almost over, don’t worry. Just like, two more. Or something like that. I haven’t checked.

That was a lie. Just like me telling you that you’re going to live past 2012. It’s not going to happen. Pack your bags and come ride Maverick!

Large-disk-ride (some call it MaxAir) has a HUGE bug problem. When the ride starts, big cloud. When the ride ends, no cloud! Where do they go?

In Mike’s eye, of course! He managed to get a bug behind-the-eye during our front-seat ride on Raptor at midnight. Not good…he’s all better!

There was a full moon. Raptor blocked it. Dumb ride. (Secretly I love you. You’re just not everything that everyone makes you out to be.)

I’m gonna end with a picture of Dragster creepin’. At 1230 at night. It’s very concerning, really. But I love him for the narrowness of his jibs anyway.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully that was an acceptable trip report. I haven’t written one in quite some time…dry humor galore! Hopefully y’all enjoyed it, even if you stopped reading halfway through and just looked at the pictures. Because I know you all did that. You probably aren’t even reading this, and I could tell you that I’m pregnant with a baby whose father is from Planet Schnargledworf. And would you care? Nope.

It’s time for bed. Goodnight, people.

The theming of Disaster Transport was done by a design firm, not the ride manufacturer. The name of the man from the design firm who designed Disaster Transport’s theming is Eric. Hrm. Are you with us? Ok.

So his name’s Eric. Ironically, he’s from Toledo. Anyway, that’s where the “E” comes from.

As it turns out, Disaster Transport was the 12th ride he designed. Are you still with us? Put them together and what do you get?? 12 E. Now you’re probably asking yourself, “what’s the point?” We were asking that too! There really isn’t one.

Eric told us that he just wanted “his stamp” on the ride. No harm done, just oodles and oodles of confused employees, guests, and enthusiasts.

Taken from the Cedar Point Blog

That was a great and very entertaining report. I was thinking about going to Coastermania, but I had exams to study for. But it looks like the ERT wasn't exactly the best anyways.

It was a very acceptable report, I actually do care, and I need to work on some dry humor in my reports. (if you've read any of them, they're pretty bland)

Nice PTR. And just so you know, your picture of the big blue empty space of Millennium Force is actually one of the best in my opinion. Empty space can be a huge friend to pictures lol. But it looked like a great time. Glad you had fun at the Point.

Great TR and fun event overall. The Friday ERT was awful (50 minute wait for Maverick) but Saturday Night's was great. Except Raptor broke and had to walk down the spiral stairs at the MCBR.

Had we not gotten off after our second back-row ride on Raptor that night, we would've been on that train. Damn.

One of the last pictures I have of Raptor (before the nighttime loop one) is actually that train up there! So I guess you made it into my trip report. Congrats!

Great report! I'm getting really excited for my vacay as it is in Columbus Ohio and I am thinking about going back to CP for my 2nd visit ever!

BUT... my peep that is a coaster/park peep isn't able to go with me, so I might have to go alone.... or not at all? :0(

I wonder if there are any TPR peeps in the CP area on Wednesday 06/17. I think this will be the day I could come up and I would enjoy a riding buddy!

Yeah, I was wondering about Hotel Breakers' "non-view" rooms. I was going to call and ask about them, but a friend of mine from Sandusky came through with his house for me while I was in the area, so I never did.

Pregnant huh?

I read the ENTIRE THING! How could I not? You had me rolling the whole time! Not only were the pictures awesome, the captions were great too!

I WANT MOOOOORREEE.... MORE! MORE! MORE!

Very nice report.

In reply to your Wicked Twister comment, I think that the back seat is better than the front. Both are fun. That is a great ride that tends to get overlooked.

The back is great on the ride. i would defiantly take this over similar rides with the non-spiral back spike. Also the ride looks amazing with the beach and lake behind it.

Aww thanks!! And yes. If Thomas Beatie can pull it off, so can I! I'm determined.

And yeah, I've never ridden in the back seat of Wicked Twister. Last time I went in '04, they were still assigning seats and we ended up in the middle. All I know is that it was very, very odd-looking to see the track spiral in a very perfect heartline and then get really close to the end (even though you really aren't that close). It was cool.
