I hope this isn't a harbinger of something to come. Major quakes are usually preceded by smaller ones as the crust starts to strain and buckle.

 

Hence why if these smaller quakes show up on the Juan De Fuca off the B.C. shore, I'd be more than a little worried. The oceanic plate at that location (which is speaking broadly, mind you) has been subducting under the N.A. continental plate for quite some time without any big release, and I don't think I need to tell Californians what happens when the pressure builds for too long. Problem with this is, the fault lies just offshore of Vancouver, so a major quake might team up with an even more devastating tsunami for a double-whammy to the coast.
