megamatt Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Does anyone else here have a Tamagotchi? They are those little electronic pets. I have a V3, 2 V4's, and a V4.5. Im buying a TMGC+C, its only avalibale in Japan, so I have to buy it of the internet. It is so advanced its like your buying a cheap cell-phone, with a LCD display. Im thinking of buying the "Mothra Blue" edition. Its also only avalible in Japan. Its from 1997, and I saw it on E-Bay.
ebl Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I didn't think anyone still had these things... But who knows? Maybe they'll make a comeback. Eric
Jds03 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Haha, I remember these from when I was in kindergarten! I can recall about five of my friends who had them and said their parents were going to let them have a pet if they could keep their Tomagotchi alive for a month. Their parents were smart, those things always died in Three days.
megamatt Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Ha ha! I can keep mine alive for up to 15 days. Also im on my 4th generation, which means that instead of it dieing, it usually just goes back to Planet Tama(which happens after the baby turns 1). I find them because there fun to have. They just provide me with something to do. Its like some people like World Of Warcraft, or Runescape.
Chris Benvenuto Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I remember these and remember the Dog and Cat versions of these things? They came out after the Tamagatchi's did and where popular too even though they were BLATANT ripoffs of the Tamagatchi idea.
ebl Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 ^ A whole bunch of "virtual pets" came out after the Tamagotchi did, and they pretty much worked the same way. But regardless of whether they were cats, dogs, whatever...somehow, some way, I found other ways to spend my time... Eric
megamatt Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 My sister had one, I killed it. How did you kill it?
Jds03 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 My sister had one, I killed it. How did you kill it? He could have just used a BIG hammer.
Thelegendarymatthew Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Ah yes, I smashed mine with a hammer. . . . . . and I was happy
netdvn Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Furbies scare me. I wonder why those became popular in the first place? I remember during the 90s when I was in Kindergarten and first grade when Tamogatchis and Giga Pets were very popular (along with yo yos and magnetic travel games). I didn't get one until 1999 when my brother got a Pokemon Pikachu. We pretty much neglected it until the battery died a few years ago. I still have it, but it doesn't work.
Kennyweird Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I did that to my Furby! I skinned my Furby. It still works, but now it's all robotic-looking.
