DBru Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Plummet is a terrain-B&M dive machine, built for a NL contest over at Coaster-net. Climb the tall mountains, glide through the icy slopes, and get ready to PLUMMET! This giant coaster, the largest of its kind, will take you down 30-story drops at speeds over 90mph. With over 6000ft. of track, Plummet is sure to take you on the ride of your life! Here is a POV of the coaster for those of you without NL. (Sorry it came out so choppy...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gclFZzqWA4 Plummet.nltrack Download and please comment!
BelgianGuy Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Its a cool coaster for the part its actually riding how it schould. Its smooth but why all the lift hills?
thrillrideseeker Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 The coaster was pretty good! I could see B&M Building something like this... The good things about your coaster were... - It had an amazing layout!! - I loved the prelift(s) The not so good... - There should not be kicker wheels on your turn before the "main" drop. It should be sloped down enough that the train would just roll around with out the need of a transport device. - Try using a chain with a really low speed rather than brakes on your drop. If you have ever been on SheiKra, or Griffon you would notice that they have a chain, not brakes, and the ride never actually stops... it just has a drastic slowdown! Other than those things, your coaster was amazing! A 10/10 for sure! Good job! ~Matthew
triggernel Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 If Expediton Everest was a Dive Machine, this would be it.
DBru Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 ^Thank you! That was the point of the ride... I don't understand why no one else got that.
the ghost Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 That was pretty fun. I was reminded of mystery mine for no apparent reason, but was reminded more of expedition Everest. That was the best NL dive machine I have ever seen though 9.5/10 The only part I did not think was real was the small drop after the brake run into the station, it felt a little fast, so I took off half a point. Everything else was awesome.
dr.gumbo Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Here's a late review from me. (I've been away) The good -Very original idea and layout -Smooth trackwork -Fun elements -Nice station The not-so-good -Too many lifts for my liking -Took a while to actually get 'thrilling' -Weak banking (I saw a few yellow lats here and there) -Quite slow during the early sections My verdict Great idea, greatly done. 8/10
Freefallbestrideever Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Agree with everyone, the beginning and end have breaks that shouldn't be there, it is kinda slow in the beginning and too many lifts for my liking. I would be ok with 2 moderate lift hills, that last one takes too long.
rollerboy Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Wow DBru! That was the best Dive Machine I am yet to see on NL. It was smooth, fun, thrilling. Good job.
