Well I just got my laptop back (running at a cool temperature, now!), so I guess its time for a new RCT2 project!

This time I wanted to do something different; I'm going to attempt a no-CS park.

----------------------------

Hey, everyone! I'm Jonathon Rivers, but you can just call me John. I have recently been hired as a Public Relations manager for PARC Paradise, a new amusement park opening this fall (September 15, 2007) in Tallahassee, FL. PARC Managements have been looking to create this project for years, but just lately followed through with their plans after the great success from acquiring 7 assorted Six Flags parks earlier this year.

PARC Paradise will run as the company's premier amusement park, and be the testing ground for many of their future concepts. PARC hopes the new attraction will eventually rival other parks in the business, such as Cedar Point and Six Flags Magic Mountain as one of the best in the business.

Construction started abruptly, and workers have made much progress. The premier parking area is finished, as well as the ticket booths, entrance plaza, and the park's first coaster!

Take a look:

The premier parking area (you will have to pay to get a space here!) and ticket booths were the first projects tackled.

This interesting, central building will be home to plenty of food/drink vendors, restrooms, 1st aid, and an ATM.

Skyloop is the park's first completed coaster. PARC was so impressed with Magic Springs' model (which the company has been looking at...but you didn't hear that from me!) that they bought one for themselves!

I can't wait to see how PARC Paradise turns out! What do you think?

I like the style of park you are making now. Trying to make a flagship park like Cedar Point with custom scenery should be very interesting. Can't wait to see more and it looks great!

^Without custom scenery.

Thanks for the comments guys, keep them coming!

And how do you propose I do that, TLM?

Nice start, for a no cs park, it's really good. The X-car coaster is quite well made, but I'm not the biggest fan of the colours. Not that they are bad looking, but I just don't think that these kind of colours fit the park that great.

And to be honest; I like you cs parks better.

I too like your CS parks better, but for a non CS park this looks like a good start. Like Steffen I think that the Skyloop's colors aren't the best. Maybe something a little duller like maroon and green would be better.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, guys. I'm always open to them!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Lot's of work is going on over at the park site.

First off, Skyloop has received a different color scheme after public demand. I wonder what they will think of this one...?

The Grande Carousel is almost complete.

The "strip" and Firepole have also gone up quickly. The strip is full of restaurants and merchandise that is sure to fit your needs. Firepole is a 120ft drop tower from ARM. Will riders reach the emergency in time? We'll find out next Spring...

More soon, but in the meantime, how do you think PARC Paradise is coming along?

Pretty good work so far.

Skyloop's colors look much better now and at first I thought the drop tower was an ARM/Larson one because of the sphere at the top like on Waldameer's (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3289/2780964357_50858067c6.jpg).

Also, the buildings near the Firepole just don't look right in my opinion. I don't know if it's the colors or them being too compact or what, but I personally just don't like them much.

^Thanks for the comment! (And yes, the tower is an ARM ).

I've been told that my repetitive use of the same colors makes this entrance area a bit bland...should I splash some more blues and greens as I continue around?

DBru this park is awesome. We have an ARM drop tower at the local fair and it looks just like that. Also I believe TLM is suggesting using ride parts for supports, but I don't know any that would work for a steel coaster. Wooden wild mouse track works for nice looking supports on a wooden coaster though.

^^I sorta meant using the ingame scenery, such as barrels, gears, pipes, and the normal support frames. The only few things that would work for rides is using the Mini Suspender as the chain link, Reverse Free fall supports, and if you want to go crazy, Inverted track works good aswell.

Thanks for the comments! They mean a lot, and I'm already learning more strategies to use for this park!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Hey, guys! Sorry for the long break in updates, as I have been very busy at the park, finding ways to get info about the park out there. Though I think the photos I'm about to show you are worth the wait...

Whoa! The park's second coaster is already completed! Whirlwind is a Custom Vekoma MK-1200, and will feature new trains from the company that utilize foam shoulder strap restraints and spring-loaded wheels to provide a more smooth and enjoyable ride! We are proto-testing this product for Vekoma, who plans to expand upon the idea of new trains and designs in the near future.

Here is another view of the coaster's station and the final two corkscrews over a small pond.

Whirlwind's layout includes 3 inversions, one of the world's longest underground tunnels, and this cool double-down first drop!

What does everyone think of Whirlwind?

Posted

^Thanks, I'm glad you like it! But no, it is not based on the Vekoma Whirlwinds; it just happens to be a Vekoma with the name Whirlwind...

The tunnel is pretty well-hidden, but you can make out the entrance and exit to the tunnel. The entrance can be seen faintly in the 3rd picture (middle), where the track slopes steeply downward into the ground, and then disappears.

The exit can be seen pretty clearly in the first picture, behind the loop. It leads into a small bunny-hop, and then into the two corkscrews.

The coaster looks fantastic. I love the low to the ground Arrow/Vekoma loopers. Having just built one "on stilts" (to fit with the hurricane namesake) I have to say that i love the look of the terrain-esque coaster you have here

And the brown supports help it blend in with the surroundings... makes the true blue track really pop.

Love the lifthill through the loop.

And the station building looks great... phenomenal when you take the severe limitations of no CS into account.

This is putting my no-CS park to shame

Fantastic work, DBru!

Thanks guys! And no, the park is nowhere near finished. I have actually added a few things since last update, but I'm not sure if it's enough to show you yet...

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Hello everybody! It's been a while, hasn't it? Sadly, not too much has gone on over at the construction site.

There are a couple things I thought I'd show you, though...

A small wooded area has gone up, with a HUSS Pirate Boat built into the terrain.

A nice Italian restaurant has also been put in, we are planning for a Carrabbas to come in here, but it could be something as simple as Fazoli's...

That's all I've got to show you for now, but hopefully work will pick up in the next few days!

If I don't see you again before the 25th...MERRY CHRISTMAS!
